The Colony of Bath

pnj
Jean had left her sister's home after spending most of the afternoon. She hoped her sister would be alright traveling with the cold. Today felt like just another day. The days seemed to run into one another since her husband left. Having her sister leave as well was tough to.

Jean went out into the market and heard of Strange. She didn't know him very well but she felt that she needed to pay her respect. Life was quiet for her. She had heard her sheep feild but no sheep. Money was short for her so she had to save up.

After spending about an hour in the market Jean returned home and noticed that she had been paid for working. By the looks of things she could afford to buy her sheep. A small smile crossed her face. Now she was hoping to get more work today. She had applied for seveal and not got any.

Jean decided to go to the forest and found Sir_Dunn Jr in his fox den with his own little family. At least he was doing well.

Varnifane finishes packing.

My first trip out of Bath since my arrival a few months ago.

On his way out the door, he stops, looks back into the house and sees the trunk that has been sitting in his front room fow the last couple of weeks.

Today is just like the rest, I'll get to it later. Maybe when I get back from Salisbury.

Rosalynn
Rosalynn nods vigorously in affirmation of Rhi's offer of Amy moving in with her. Cradling Rhoswen gently, Rosalynn carries her into the her cradle and lays her down inside. Brushing her hand lightly over the the sleeping babes head, she smiles at the perfect features thinking both babes received the best from both parents. Rosalynn returns to the table where Amy and Rhi, still holding Tanvir, sit chatting. Rosalynn refills their cups of tea before sitting down again herself.

"I'm going to need to track down Archbishop Dragonflame soon as Rhoswen and Tanvir are to be baptised I believe. I'm not sure at what age it is to be done. Perhaps waiting til spring would be better? It'll be time then too to separate Spot and her piglets and find homes for them."

Muleskinner left the tavern and headed to the shop of one of the local blacksmiths. After banging on the shop door several times, a sleepy eyed smithy appeared.

"A day's wages to melt this now!" Muleskinner growled to the smithy as he held up the gold ring.

"I can have it for you by midday" the smithy replied sleepyly.

" I will return at daybreak for it" Muleskinner replied in a tone that left no doublts or allowed any further debate. Muleskinner reached out his hand and took the hand of the smithy. He dropped the ring with several coins into the startled smithy's hand.

Muleskinner turned and retreated in the night to move on to his next task.

Muleskinner moved through the night. He was focused on completing all the arraingements for Lord Strangefellow this night. Arriving at the shop of the town carpenter, he was surprised to find him working late in his shop. Muleskinner entered the shop unannounced, and univited. The man was startled by someone visiting this late at night.

"I need a casket and a hardwood cross made." Muleskinner told the man without first the customary greetings.

"I see you are in a hurry" the man relied. "Crosses normally take two days to complete and a casket one day." "But, I have a casket almost ready now, would you like to see it?" the man asked, raising an eyebrow.

"There is no need, your repution speaks of quality workmanship." "Have it ready and at the church just after daybreak." "Have the cross ready within the two days." "The name for the cross is Strangefellow, Lord Strangefellow."

Muleskinner tosses the man a small bag of coins and leaves the shop without any further discussion. Muleskinner heads toward his hovel. He needs to eat and have some time to think the day's events more clearly.

As he approaches his hovel a man steps out of the shadows. He speaks a phrase to Muleskinner and waits for the proper reply. Muleskinner replies with the proper counter phrase and the man approaches.

Muleskinner and the man enter the hovel where prying eyes will not be able to see clearly and their conversation will remain unheard

As I was coming back to Bath feeling that sence of home again I saw a body that was teathered and clothed draped over it. I went over to see who had died. As I got closer I knew it had to be someone new to the town since the body still had rags on it. The stench from the body was foul. Still I wanted to know who it was. I got off my horse and went over to it and lifted the cloth. The face wasn't really there anymore since it looked like birds had pecked pretty good into him. I looked closer and noticed something about his face that was familiar. Strange, that's who it was. I thought to myself good riddens, but at the same time was sad that he thought he had to kill himself to make life better. I slapped Strange's dead face. "Dummy," I said, "ya should have told someone like me, cause I'd be on ya like wolverines on butter."

I gave a little prayer for the man's soul and got back on my horse. My horse trotted slowly to Bath. I could barely see the top of the town hall over the horizan but I knew I was pretty close. I was still pretty fumed that I couldna get the murder, but I was glad that the Bridgewater theif was being trialed for his crimes. So I kept the good in me and was just hoping to take a hot bath and soon.

Once inside, the stranger tells Muleskinner the message he has brought to him over the many miles of travel. Muleskinner waits a moment before replying:

"Lord Strangefellow is dead." "Whether by accident or design, that can not be determined at this moment." "The only thing certain is that Lady Ellsbeth played heavily in the events leading up to his dermise."

Speaking her name had left a vile taste in his mouth, but Muleskinner tried to hide that fact. He set out what was in his larder and offered to share it with the stranger. The stranger thanked him and ate as if he had not seen food for over a day. Muleskinner forced down some morsels of bread. He hungered not, but the bread seems to lessen the taste of Lady Ellsbeth in his mouth. After the stranger had eaten his fill, Muleskinner wrapped the reminder up in a travelling cloth and handed it to him along with some coins.

"This will aid you in your journey back." "Report what I have told you and that I request a full investigation of this Lady Ellsbeth." "I am sorry I can not offer you a dry warm place to sleep this night, but you must be away from town before daybreak."

The stranger knowingly nods, gestures a see you later wave, and disappears through the doorway into the darkness outside. Muleskinner is now alone with his thoughts.

OOC: Muleskinner Aka Strangefellow
Your previous two postings were reported to the county censor and while we are allowed latitude in RP your postings thus far save a minor comment he edited out have fallen just this side of what is allowable per the rules for the forum, However should you continue to implement the character Ellsbeth into your RP knowing it is found offensive as was stated by the Censor after he read the posts in question You may know you will then be considered guilty of harassment and that is strictly forbidden in the forum Posting.

RE: Forum Posting rules in regard to such:

Quote:
For posters:

1. Thou shalt not curse, use foul/profane language, insult other players, or otherwise "Flame" Flaming is defined as: any inflammatory, vulgar, socially charged, words or phrases used for the sole purpose to incite anger and/or debase another's character- the only exception to the flaming rule is in character role play as long as it is not excessive and reaches the level of harassment.

The censor instructed that you be issued a warning and you may consider this as such. Any further implemtation in RP and posting in regard to the character Ellsbeth by you is to be reported and will be.

OOC:

Due to the fact Ellsbeth has filed a complain against me and my attempt to bury Strangefellow. I must stop all RP with Ellsbeth because she is uncomfortable with my forcing her into situations she does not want to be in. My postings were not over the line and none of my text was editted by anyone. But i was ordered to stop because the person playing Ellsbeth is uncomfortable, which is crossing the line. I express my sincere apology to that person (I won't mention her name) and i hope you heal enough some time in the future to be able to speak to me again.

OOC: Muleskinner, not only were you badmouthing Ellsbeth, but you were also godmodding... a BIG no-no!

IC:

Rhiannon ran around the cottage, packing things needed for Bronwen's wedding, getting the children ready for the journey, and instructing the maids on the upkeep of the cottage while the family wasn't there.

She stopped by Amy's room.

"Amy, are ya going to come to the wedding with me?"

OOC to Greg: will ya do me a favor, and do a little dance for my sister?

(OOC: Muleskinner, my advice is to just get used to the way we play around here before you go about trying to start with any more shenanigans. A rather unknown lowly peasant picking on a well respected, well loved level 2 mayor of his town is hardly a good idea . I'm not sure what happened between Ells and Strange in the end but I will admit Strange didn't ever strike me as the sort that should get Ells. I was keeping a close eye on him for the sake of my friend and RP cousin. I had not said anything cause I knew Ells can handle anything thrown her, but that doesn't mean my big mouth won't say something when once she's made her move. I don't think you have many friends at all if you couldn't get someone else to bury Strange. Reincarnation is a desperate move, for me its for when you've messed up your old character beyond repair or think you can make a better, but the point is kind of lost when the new character is more messed up than the last.

THAT, mister, is godmodding, and it is NOT welcome. There are plenty of people around that will play that way with you( If you want to hang out with that crowd ), just don't mess with my family. I'm here as Cairi till Wednesday or so but that doesn't mean her creator won't be reading these forums occasionally throughout the months. I'd like to see you establish an interesting character, just go easy. )

ArcaneJill paced, bored, in her small house. The house was extra tidy today as she'd had nothing better to do than clean. The floor was swept, the laundry was done (oh her poor cold chapped hands!) and hanging about the house to dry, her food and herbs were reorganized. The pigs had all been fed and watered, and their pens cleaned out (that being part of the reason she did laundry). Bored bored bored.. She re-read for the hundredth time the two notes from Sparhawk. His sudden departure and extended absence was wearing and she was beginning to realize just how important he really was to her. She sat down to pen a letter to Spar, wondering who she could get to take it to Bridgewater.

Gregarious, Sierra, and Troy decided to spend an extra night in the cave and leave for Radcliff castle in the morning. Sierra had mentioned to Troy that it was Greg's birthday so the two of them secretly planned a small dinner as a celebration. Troy was able to make a quick trip to the market to pick up a few things to add to the rabbits he had already caught while hunting.

The feast was not ellaborate but there was plenty of food. After eating, Troy pulled out his fiddle and Greg and Sierra danced to the cheery music til they fell on the ground exhausted.

"I wish I had a present for you, my love."

"You are the best gift a man could ever have, Sierra! Besides, I cannot recall a happier party!"

Sierra and Troy smiled in response. They raised their mugs of ale together.

"Happy Birthday, Gregarious!"
