Treena
Treena struggled to maintain a stern look through Darrian's speech, but when he got to the "Important Rule", she couldn't keep the giggle from escaping her lips. "I'll be sure to remember that, oh thou of infinite knowledge," she teased, shaking her head. As he boosted her up to wagon bench, she sat down with an exaggerated sigh of indignation, squinting her eyes at Darrian's boastful promise. Treena was not quite ready to give in and allow him his way, but she had to admit it was logical to "go in the direction of where you have to go."
Interlude was happy to be moving again, but they held him to a slow pace carefully examining the road for signs of where they were heading. Sounds of horses galloping slowly grew louder as two riders approached. Treena quickly recognized her brother from afar and urged Interlude towards him and his traveling companion. "Jack!" she called out with a bright smile. "Our saviour!" she nudged Darrian's ribs as she spoke. "Yes, of course, I couldn't miss Boo's engagement. I don't expect my siblings to wed anytime soon, so a cousin will have to do." She couldn't help teasing her long-time bachelor brother, even as Prince of England he never took a bride. And their sister Celdonea was resolute in staying single despite more than a few admirers. Even Treena herself had been engaged quite nearly a year without any real wedding plans.
"Emmy, how nice to see you here, too. Were you close with Boo, err Roberta, at court?" she asked, hiding her mild surprise at Emmy's attendance. "We would gladly join your group," Treena smiled, "assuming you know the way there. We've been riding in circles all through Dartmoor, and as lovely as it is, we'd like to make it before dessert is served."
