= [ORP] Kel's Bells Tavern in Egremont

Zukran
Zukran had finally arrived, he saw the Tavern it gleamed in the night like a Light at the End Of a Tunnel. Zukran went towards it and walked in. As he looked into a mirror, he saw his face, and steel armour, he no longer wore a shirt over his left arm, and his tatoo's were as clear as day. Seeing the Woman at the bar, who he guessed was Hikenai talking to this other man who he had not seen before Freind or Foe? He was not Kel he knew that. He took a gulp of air and then walked in.

"Excuse me. Umm....Hikenai, am I interupting you?. Hello stranger, I am Zukran Banesheild Pleased to meet you."

As he said this Dunn's expression changed, and the room suddenly went cold. Zukran looked at Hikenai hopeing she could explain this situation to him, still confused he waited for a Responce and as he continued to wait. Dunn got to his feet.

Hikenai
Hikenai looked up as the door opened and Zukran walked in! He looked older to Hikenai, his hair was longer, he was more muscular than she remembered him, and he no longer wore an eye patch! His vision was restored, but Hikenai had no sooner given up a silent prayer of thanks to Jah for that, than he said,
"Excuse me. Umm....Hikenai, am I interupting you?. Hello stranger, I am Zukran Banesheild Pleased to meet you."
And Hikenai was alarmed because there was no hint of recognition on his face when he looked at her! She glanced at Kelster, who looked shocked as well. It was true. Zukran had amnesia!

Dunn heard the mans name, however did not react with either hatred nor happiness. Instead he just got to his feet, and Spoke

"It was good to meet you Hikenai, and your Husband. And you too Sir Banesheild. I will return tommorow with my freinds if you do not mind."

He walked out slowly but did not turn back to look at Zukran, however his expression was changing. Could he trust this man? Could this man be a spy? Could this man have been trying to take advantage of the situation he had just heard? What ever the reason. Dunn would return and try to solve the mystery of this so called "Zukran Banesheild"
Hikenai
As Hikenai prepared to speak to Zukran, Dunn spoke up and surprised Hikenai by taking his leave.
Dunn Baneshield said,
Quote:
"It was good to meet you Hikenai, and your Husband. And you too Sir Banesheild. I will return tommorow with my freinds if you do not mind."

She smiled then, stood, and replied, I hope you do return! As the man slowly left the building she turned back to Kelster and Zukran. She motioned for Blythe to bring Kel and Zukran ale, and took her place again at the table.
Zukran, it is good to see you again, my friend. The last time we spoke, months ago, you were about to leave Dumfries for Carlisle. I understand you are having trouble with your memory. Please, tell us how we can help you!
As Blythe arrived at the table with the ale, Hikenai smiled at her, pleased to see Zukran in Egremont, and hopeful he would stay with them at Wallace Castle.

I cud tell she be s'prised Lady Walls ga' me th' job. I ne'd'd it i did an' ever sins the bat'l of Carlil' i be ownly holdin' me own, try'n to feed those wee moufs at home.

The girl whispered to herself, thinking of Blythe. The way the young woman had lifted one eyebrow and seemed put upon to show her the tavern had given Lo the impression that Blythe had looked upon her with suspicion, almost scorn! She was eager to prove herself, Lorena was.

Lo was to come in early each morning, and help with the baking, something that Hikenai had always loved to do, before her pregnancy had advanced to the point she needed to take her time in the morning, not rush out before first light, to work in the tavern's kitchen. Now, after having been shown about the tavern, and instructed in her duties, Lorena was returning to her little hovel, to do some washing for her sister and brother, and to prepare a meal for them. Jillian and Joseph were only ten, but they were all the family she had in the world, and Lorena would do anything for them. Anything. It was that feeling of responsibility, the desire to provide for them, that would spur her into becoming the pawn of an unscrupulous man who lurked about Egremont, watching Blythe Williams every move, and waiting to make his own.
--Blythe
The musicians that would perform that evening had already arrived! As they begun to tune up, and practice a bit, Blythe was happy---- it made the tavern atmosphere so pleasurable! She knew that Lord and Lady Wallace would soon arrive with their house guests, and she worked quickly, for she knew they would be hungry. Blythe smiled to herself, for Lady Hik was always hungry now, and rightly so! It pleased Blythe to see to Hikenai's needs and anticipate them when she could.
I am so pleased you are with us, Lorena!
She smiled, and gazed at the large platter of fruit Lorena had cut up and arranged in an appetizing assortment of colors.

The tavern was stocked with all of Lord Wallace's finest, and Blythe was proud to be given such responsibility in this establishment. Seeing the musicians begin to tune up she smiled at Lorena and said, It will be a merry time for us this afternoon!

Oh listen, they are playing No Love is Sorrow! The most beautiful ballad....and Blythe thought of Cuthbert and sighed dreamily.

Hikenai
As Hikenai and her family and friends arrived at the tavern, she turned to Kelster and her eyes shown with excitement. Ah, Kel, the musicians have arrived to set up for later! Listen they are practicing! She and Kel both had a great fondness for music! In fact, she often was humming or singing under her breath, as she went about her day, and Hikenai was so pleased to hear the strains of The Trees They Do Grow High fill the air as they all approached the door of Kel's Bells Tavern in Egremont. For a moment, Hikenai sang along in a soft voice.

The trees they do grow high
And the leaves they do grow green
Many is the time my true love I've seen
Many an hour I've watched all alone
He's young but he's daily growing

Father, oh father, you've done me a great wrong
You've married me, to a boy who is too young
I am twice twelve and he is but fourteen
He's young but he's daily growing

Daughter, dear daughter I have done you no wrong
I've married you to a brave lord's son
He'll be a man to you when I am dead and gone
He'd young but he's daily growing.........

The beautiful ballad went on, but Hik stopped her singing as they prepared to enter the tavern. She was very happy that Lilith, Xall, Aef, Osbert and the children were all with her and Kelster to enjoy a good meal and listen to the music.

Hikenai loved those old songs!

Kelster
Arriving at Kels Bells, hearing the music playing and seeing the fine spread of food prepared by Blythe for his family and friends, Kel's heart lifted . What a beautiful tune my dear. First drinks, then perhaps a dance?

Walking up to the bar and turning to face his wife, Lil, Aef and Xall, he smiled and said. Well what would you all like to drink, everything is on me tonight. Of course it will be milk for my wife, so what do the rest of you wish to have?

Aefernum
As Aef and the rest arrived at Kel's Bells, Aef got a lump in her throat, which was proving hard to hide at first. Being in a tavern in Egremont reminded her so very much of those she had lost in the year since she had been here last. Her best friend, Spotacus and her fiancé, Almogrief, had both left this world for the heavens.

This entire trip had been one down memory lane for her and it was filled with mixed feelings, a tear in her eye never far away. Her heart sadened and felt as heavy as it had been in those dark days some months ago. 'Get a hold of yourself, Aeffie!' she commanded herself. This was not a time for grieving, but for laughter and honoring. She had made a promise to herself to appreciate life and what it brought her, both turmoil and happiness. And here, in this town, she had people who made life full of those joyus days; Kelster, Hikenai, Lilith, Osbert. Her heart swelled now at the thought of her wonderful friends. She was truly blessed and they all held a special place in her heart.

With glossy eyes, she gave her friends a beaming smile and stroked them each lovingly on the back as she passed them on the way to a free seat. Her voice seemed a bit off as she tried to speak, so she cleared her throat and tried again, "Um.. I'll have a pint or several of that fine Egremontian brew, please, Kel."

Lilith_
Aye, drinks for all, dear brother! she started, feeling her heart pound with excitement. She always felt at home in this tavern and her first instinct was to follow Kel and help him pour and serve the drinks. But she grinned at Kel and took a seat on her favourite chair, next to Aeffie, tipping her fingers upon the wooden table. She browsed the surroundings, feeling slightly nervous. So many things had happened inside these walls, and so much had changed with time. A single glance at Hik, with her radiant figure, you could see how she lit the whole room. Milk, sure...but it was all worth it. Lili thought some day maybe she would understand why someone would give up drinking for such a long time.
Meanwhile, she would enjoy her drinks as much as she could. Glancing at Xall and smiling sheepishly. She suddenly blushed and lowered her eyes, realizing she must have looked quite dumb with that expression on her face. But she couldn't really help it. Something had happened since that day in Carlisle, when she first met him. She often wondered if there'd been something in the ale. Or in the air.

Xall
Entering the tavern, he takes a look around. As his hosts find their seats and make themselves at home, xall takes his time and looks at the history of the tavern. He looks at all the things carefully placed and cared for. *the history of a place tells a lot about it and the people.* he thought to himself.

Very fine establishment, my friend. It show a lot. Lots of history to it. I like it.

Finding a seat near the lovely lilith, he smiles. He hopes to not give off to much that says he likes her. He offers to get her a drink.

So Kel, I was thinking of moving to eggy, if this would be okay with you fine folks up here. If and when I do I was wondering what profession might be needed up this way?

Grabbing a few ales and returning to lilith and setting a ale near here, he looks at her and in this light, she is just radiant. He thinks to himself that he better stop starring. He almost finds it impossible to not look at her. His heart is pounding with excitement to see her again. He turns to her.

You look lovely in this light. Here is your drink, my lady. He smiled at her.
Kelster
As Xall spoke about a tavern having history and character, Kel thought about all that had happened while this tavern had been opened. The up's and downs that had faced everyone who had walked through the doors. Every person had his or her own story to tell and he had listened to all of them. Yes he thought this tavern certainly had history, but that is not what made a tavern for him. It had always been about the people, the friends and family coming together after a hard days work, talking, having fun and always making the future seem to be so bright.

Sitting down next to his family and friends he thought of his bright and happy future with them all and especially his wife and soon go be baby.

So Kel, I was thinking of moving to Eggy, if this would be okay with you fine folks up here. If and when I do I was wondering what profession might be needed up this way?

Hearing Xall talk of moving to Egremont made Kel so happy inside for then Xall would be here and so would his sister Lil.

Well almost any profession would be good Xall, but as for farmers, we are in desperate need of sheep at the moment. I can say this thought, you will not find a more enjoyable place to live anywhere else in England. I have found it to be the most friendly and welcoming town I have ever been to and I have been to a few, in England and in Scotland.

Hikenai
Hikenai listened as Kelster recommended sheep farming to Xall. She had been wondering herself, just what to do with the Penrith property she was thinking of buying, now that she had closed the tavern in Penrith. Lilith's extraordinary talent with the needle, and Kelster's words, had given her an idea....perhaps I shall raise those gentle animals, too, she thought. She sipped the chilled milk and relaxed, enjoying the easy company of her family, watching their faces, studying her husband as he and Xall talked. Kel's fine features shown with pride, his love and commitment to his family so evident on his handsome face.

So Kel, I was thinking of moving to Eggy, if this would be okay with you fine folks up here.

Hikenai could not help but notice the light in Lilith's eyes when Xall said this.....nor the expression that stole across Xall's face when he looked at Lili. Xall is a good man, a steady man, a hardworking, honest and forthright man, if I be any judge of character, she thought......and Hik had liked him immediately when she had met him a short time ago.
Hikenai motioned to Blythe for buttered rolls, fruit and cheese to be brought as appetizers to their table, and as Kel and Xall continued on, Hikenai leaned back against her seat, resting her arm lightly against Kelster's, and feeling a sense of exquisite contentment.

Lilith_
Lili noticed how well her brother and Xall seemed to be getting along and she smiled, throwing a quick glance towards Hik, who seemed to be paying attention to the same happenings. Or to Kel being his usual friendly self, for which everyone adored him.

So Kel, I was thinking of moving to eggy...

Her heart stopped and her eyes grew large, as her lips whispered a faint "Oh, my!". She had indeed told Xall how lovely Egremont was and how merry its inhabitants, and he, in turn, had told her about his wanting to find a home. But his words came as such a surprise, and a good one, above all.
As she watched him return to the table with the ale, she tried to compose herself, by no means would it have been suitable to show such emotion to a person she barely knew. Though she had the feeling that she knew him so intimately already. As if they'd been friends forever.

You look lovely in this light. Here is your drink, my lady.

She returned a smile to him in thanks for the courtesy of offering her a drink, and she felt her cheeks flushed as he spoke. Thank you, Xall. I am sure it is the delicate candlelight that makes all features smoother and sweeter to the observer. She paused and raised her mug "For peace, for happiness, for family!" then took a sip and returned to Xall "I see you have been quite charmed by our stories about Eggy. I wish to congratulate you for this decision and tell you it is very good news to my ears. Our fair town deserves a good man like yourself." She smiled again, this time managing to hold back back her emotions, though she would have loved to do the happy dance right then. Thinking she would then be able to see him every day with being in the same town, she realized she had missed him.

Xall
After taking his seat he heard Kel speak of raising sheep. He nodded. Sheep, I could see doing that. Right now I am a smith, I have somethings I would like to get done as a smith. I was thinking of being a carpenter being a fishing town. I guess we will see once I get up there. I have to go home and settle somethings before I get the chance to move up here. Of course that may take some time.

Listening to lilith make the toast. He raised his mug.
For peace, happiness and especially Family! Taking a sip of his ale and seeing the appetizers placed, he reached for a roll as he nodded to Blythe in a sign of thanks. This may be a little forward my lady but your features are beautiful in any light. He smiled. He seen how wonderful Hik was and how she and Kel just seemed so comfortable with each other. He was so happy for them. It is good to see such goodness in the world. After meeting such very nice people, who, I have to say, seem to know what family is really about. It was not much of a tough decision, but I do thank you for the compliment. I thank for the kindness you have shown me. Your hospitality is like no other.

Xall was excited about what was to come. The chance to see Lilith every day made him overjoyed. He felt comfortable with her. She was such a lovely woman. Something about Kel and Hik that made him smile. He just knew these were good people. They were two people that were lucky to have met each other. Seeing them only made xall think about what all the wonderful possibilities there could be. He turned to Lilith and smiled.
So did you grow up here?
