Morrandir
Huffing and puffing Mor dragged the huge tree he had chopped down on the way from Lewes. As if the trip hadn't been tiring enough with constant travel with no real rest in any of the towns they had rushed past, now Mor had to deal with this behemoth of a tree. Those few steps leading to the front door had never felt this steep and he could have sworn someone had deliberately covered them in ice to make his struggle that much more painstaking. Some very colourful grumbles were heard by various passers by.
At least Cynth had left the door ajar, so all Mor had to do was nudge it open once he got to it and haul the tree to the ladding on the other side.
Breathing heavily Mor glanced down at the bar and noticed there were decorations all over the place already. He had ordered some while still in Lewes and was pleased to see all of them had been put up. One thing less for him to take care.
Closing the door and sighing Mor grabbed hold of the tree again to continue his task, but then paused suddenly. Tilting his head and then turning to the side, he took a glance over the railing on his left and down at the bar area. Grinning he glanced back at the tree and then down at the bar again. Shrugging in a carefree manner he muttered,"...and why not."
Hauling the heavier end of the tree over the railing and then lifting the lighter end, it didn't take much for the tree to tip over. With the help of gravity it went crashing down on a table below with a solid thud and some sound crackling. "Mind over matter", Mor chuckled softly as he took a peek down to asses the carnage below.
There were a few branches blown off the tree and tons of needles everywhere. "Okay... perhaps not so much mind after all," he sighed, but chose not to worry about it right now. He sorely missed his bed and he could always set the tree up tomorrow. Climbing up the several flights of stairs, he finally came to the door to his private bedroom and stepped in.
He was met with the most adorable of sounds as his beloved was fast asleep on his big comfy bed and snoring. With her half awake cooperation Mor got her under the covers, before taking off his excess clothing. Watching for a while as she slept peacefully, stroking her hair softly Mor sat silently on the edge of the bed and felt grateful he had found her relatively unscathed in Evesham. You're safe now, he thought as he eventually slid under the covers. "G'night darling," he spoke softly as he snuggled in close to her. Soon he too was snoring softly...
