[ORP]Merryweather Fortress

Paddy.douglas
* sitting in great comfort in the Castles Library, a glass of malt whiskey each, Paddy, Nic and Fronz, were all catching up on family business and the dispatches from the 1st Blood Oath Army, as a guard bursts through the door.

Lords, I be glad to see you, the Lady Snow Lynx is in need of you at the stables now! cried the breathless guard

* without asking for any explanations, the three cousins headed for the door, through the manor, across the gardens, and through a gathering of Brotherhood and Castle Guards, taken them into the stables

Dear Lass, what is it?
Wolfmist_pendragon
Wolfmist stopped before the guards at the portcullis, "I am off to search for my Knight... she should have been back by now. Please tell the Lady I am gone?"

Wolfmist passed on, and mounted after crossing the drawbridge. With one last look at the torches and lights of the fortress, as impressive as it was, he had the strange feeling he wouldnt see it again any time soon. He let his senses roam out to the forested path before the castle, and thought he heard a wolf howl from the mountains somewhere to the East. He pulled his cloak closer around him and breathed the twilight air deeply. He waited, but he couldnt work out why he was. Shaking his head with worry, he nudged the horse on and started at a slow trot, keeping his eyes peeled for any signs of tracks... or even a body. He cringed at that last thought.
Snowlynx
Snowlynx was just finishing getting her armour on. A young lad was finishing saddling Lucy Girl for her.

Snowlynx looks up at the familiar voice, a small amount of stress and tension she feels evaporate, "Thank Jah, I am glad you are here, Captain. we have a possible incident."

Snow says with a slight frowns,
"Lady Leana left without an escort for a walk on the country side. She has not returned. It has been a few hours, now, since she has been seen or heard from. She is on foot. No provisions. And it is starting to get late in the day."

Snowlynx takes a deep breath, to remain in control, "The last I saw her, late morning, she was slightly hung over and had not eaten. I am told she left shortly, after that."

"I need your best trackers, torches, and any men you have that are familiar with the area country side and woods. It will be dark soon, being lost in this territory, with no food and alone is not a good experience for most and very dangerous. We must leave quickly."

Clyde sits next to Snowlynx, waiting for the call to go.

Leana

Again, she was beneath the willow fronds, but night had settled over the forest, and she could see nothing. Dairwynn seemed to sense her peril as she set her nose to the ground and immediately began to sniff through the ferns and the undergrowth. Lea shivered along behind, holding her wrist against her. The path was, indeed, only a few yards away. Dairwynn had followed her scent through the underbrush.
Wolfmist_pendragon
Knight trotted along the path, quicker now at Wolfmist's command. He was getting anxious now, as the footprints had strayed from the path and into a small gorge. He had looked down there, climbing carfully, but all signs pointed to... nothing as if the owner of those footprints had vanished into thin air. He had a hunch, knowing Lea, that she had gotten out somehow, maybe a few hours ago, he wasn't sure.

It was dark now, and he wouldnt be able to track any more footprints until... well.. much later.

Turning the horse between the bushes and trees, he found himself back at the path but he couldn't see a sign of life. "LEA!? LEANA!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!?"

He paused and listened, waiting.
Snowlynx
Snowlynx's Head Castle guard hands out the torches to the men. He turns and hands two to Snow, a lantern with oil. "Thank you, Joe. Hold down the fort." The Head guard nods.

A young girl quietly sneaks past the commotion in the stables, finds Snow whispers to her, and hands her a piece of clothing and a her packed bag of medical herbs. Snowlynx smiles at her, "Good girl, great job. Tell Schnee to make a warm bath and try to keep it so, until we get back, we may need it." The young girl nods and slips along the stable walls and slips out.

They all head out of Merryweather's gates each in their own directions.

Snowlynx bends over lets Clyde smell the piece of clothing of Leana's. "Clyde find Leana, find her, boy."

Snowlynx hops up on Lucy Girl, and her and her personal guards take off at a gallop following Clyde running at full run down through the forest path and onto the main road into the forest, again. Not having to stop for signs of tracks saves much time, hopefully, Clyde has found the right scent.

After half an hour running, Clyde begins to slow, he pauses here and there, sniffing the area. Snowlynx dismounts Lucy Girl and goes to Clyde. "What's the matter Clyde." She hears a light rumbling growl coming within him and watches him. She notices the footprints stop from the path.

Her group stands there quietly, searching the area for tracks.
One of the guards says, "I found tracks from a wolf."
Another guard states, "and a recent rider on horseback."

Snowlynx stands their wondering who got ahead of them, friend or foe. Growing concern fills her. Snowlynx goes to her saddle pulls out her fox horn. Takes a deep breath and blows a long tut. Then shouts, "Leana!!!"

Clyde lets out a loud howl...in the distance there is a wolf call returned. The group look at each other stunned

Leana
Lea had barely taken five steps down the path when Dairwynn stopped, her ears swiveling 'round to listen. A soft growl grew in the back of her throat as if she'd picked up the scent of another wolf. The fox horn blared through the trees, followed by a familiar voice and the howl of a dog. Dairwynn's ears lowered, and she seemed prepared to spring, but Lea slipped quietly into her mind, calming the instinctive reaction. *They're friends...* She laid a comforting hand on the back of the wolf's neck, relief flooding her.

"I'm here!" she shouted, her voice scratchy. She walked toward the direction that horn had come from, keeping contact with Dairwynn.
Wolfmist_pendragon
Wolfmist heard a quiet yell somewhere behind some trees roughly what he thought was 800 yards away. He was well off target. He turned the horse rounds and set off at a gallop up the main path. Strangely, it seemed to be taking him back towards the castle, but then beered off to the west a little bit. "LEANA!!! WHERE ARE YOU!?"
Leana
Dairwynn picked up her pace, her nose flat to the ground. She seemed content to trust Lea's assurances that the canine was friendly, which Lea was thankful for. She retreated from the wolf's mind, her head aching witht he effort of trying to calm her. She tried to jog along after her, not caring how many roots she stumbled over; she was cold, and the activity brought a little warmth back. Soon, she saw fire flickering ahead, what looked like a torch. She slowed to catch her breath, calling Dairwynn back to stand with her. On the trail behind her, she heard another voice and the loud rhythm of hoof beats against the ground.
Snowlynx
Everyone's head snapped towards the direction of what seemed to be a voice. Clyde's quiet growling is still audible. Snow quiets him.

"This way" A guard says to no one in particular.
They all mount back up and head in the direction down the path that they heard the voice.

As they walk slowly down the path Lady Leana comes into sight.
"Leana!!" Snowlynx shouts in excitement upon seeing her.

A rush of happiness fills Snowlynx but, in the next second, she was halting Lucy Girl, jumping off, and grabbing Clyde, as his growls became snarls.
"Clyde halt!! Stop!!" Snowlynx clicks the leash onto Clyde just as he bucks, to make a charge towards the wolf, walking besides Leana.

Snowlynx gets the end of the leash hooked on the saddle horn just in time to hold back Clyde, but in the process gets tangled in the rope and is knocked to the ground when the rope went taunt, luckily Lucy Girl held her ground.

Snowlynx stands up, looks at Leana and the wolf with concern, "Lady Leana, are you all right. Everyone is searching for you."

A guard grabs the fox horn and starts blowing it in the direction of the Fortress, to try to signal anyone in the area of their location.

Leana
Lea's mind reached out to Dairwynn again, calming her, and she lay down, perking her ears upward. She kept a hand on her, speaking to her in words this time, trusting her to stay down. When Lea stepped away, she remained lying down, watching her. Lea stumbled forward, offering the Lady her good arm to help her up, embarassed.

"I'm sorry, Milady..." she couldn't speak anymore as shame flooded her. "I shouldn't have left the grounds..."
Snowlynx
Snowlynx smiles, not caring anymore, just glad Leana is alright.

Snow grabs her and gives her a hug, and holds her at arms length looking her up and down.
"Why did you leave like that? Don't every do that again. You scared me half silly."

Snowlynx guides her a little ways from the wolf and sits her down on a log and sits next to her.
"Are you hurt any where?" Snow starts dotting over her and pulling her sleeves up and searching for injuries.

She takes her pack off and starts searching it and pulls out her flask of tea and hands it to her. Not waiting for refusal, opening it and telling her, "Drink."

Knight was galloping hard and ahead Wolfmist saw torch light. He had been so used to the dark now that by the time he had caught up he was blinking the light from his eyes. Then he saw her. He dismounted and embraced her. "Hey... heyheyhey... its ok.. come on, lets get you inside." He held her close, and wrapped his arms around her hard, rubbing her back up and down to try and instill some warmth into her, kissing the top of her head.
Leana
Lea winced as Snow's hands found her swollen wrist and the large purple bruise on her side. In the fire light, she saw all the cuts and scrapes lining her arms and felt them along her legs as well, though they had been largely protected by the soft leather of her trousers. "I...just needed some air..and a long walk. Where I come from, women are usually free to wander unaccompanied.. She sipped the tea, thankful to have something warm in her hands and in her empty stomach. She whistled once and Dairwynn came to her, lying down at her feet. "She helped me get out..I fell.."

A horse clattered into the ring of fire light, and she winced, not from pain, but in anticipation of the storm to come. But, before he could yell at her for daring to kiss him and running off to who knows where, he scooped her up. She had just enough time to set the tea cup down before spilling it down her front.

"I'm all right..." she gasped, pain shooting through her arm and her side as they were both jarred. Dairwynn raised her head, her ears lowering to growl at Wolf.

"No, Dairwynn!" she reached out for her friend again, calming her with her mind.
