[ORP]Merryweather Fortress

Charlie.tylne
Commander, how sure are you on your intel on Anto the fiend?

With a wink to the Earl, and getting a nod to procees, Black shares his source. I have correspondence that is but hours old. Ashleigh Douglas is on the ground there and keeping an eye on the situation. Her pigeons come direct to the Fortress here. It is a hassle shipping them back to her, but well worth the effort to have such reliable intel so fast.

As the dearly departed Princess Gabrielle_ would say, knowledge is power, and true intelligence is the best knowledge to have.

Standing and raising his jug. Long live the memory of the Princess. To a resounding call of the same.

One other point worthy of mentioning in Ashlieghs report. It looks as though the mad emperor Anto has been listed for the up coming Connaught County Council elections. That might slow his military issues down for a few weeks.
Charlie.tylne
Several laughed at that last report. Well that is a NNGO stronghold. Makes sense that they fill the list with the NNGO leadership.

Could we move the two Brotherhood war ships up into the Irish Sea?
Caitilin
The wind whipped at the hood of her cloak, tossing it back off her head. The snow was being swirled and carried on the wind in every direction. In the distance Caitilin could see the torches that burned at Merryweather Fortress. She shivered and pulled the black fur cloak close and gave her heels to Dancer.

Entering the gate of the great fortress, Cait heads toward the front entrance. She slides from the saddle and hands her mare over to an attendant. Wait... There is something I need there. Caitilin untied the long leather parcel and slipped it from the back of Dancer. Thank you. She nodded to the lad as he lead her mare away.

Inside the main hall Cait shook the snow from her hair, Dark wet ringlets clung to her face and neck from the snow. She was lead to Lord Douglas' study. She handed her cloak to the fellow that led her. She turned to Marklin. If I may please have a cup of tea? I need something to warm me. Or better yet some hot rum with butter. I hear it is delicious. Thank you. She heard voices on the other side of the door and entered.

Good eve'n gentlemen. I hope I'm not late. Cait walked over to Paddy curtsied and kissed his cheek. My Lord Protector, how are you?

I will see to it at once my Lady. It does the fortess wel to have you back with us if I may say.

* Marklin moved off to get the rum and butter heated
Paddy.douglas
* with Caitilin entering the room, Paddy rises and walks over to her.

I am well thank yee Lass, and you? Have you traveled far this dark night? it is good to have you here with us, thank you for answering my call

much has been discussed and much is yet to be covered

ahh his is Marklin with another round of much needed drinks

and Cait, the kitchens are open, plenty of hot rolls, both savoury and sweet, but if you have a particular preference, Cook will be happy to oblige you

* taking the next 15 minutes, they group quickly brings Caitilin up on all matters that have been discussed so far, at times referring to Michelle's notes

and that is where we are up to

Michelle, have we covered every thing so far?
--Michelle_of_douglas_manor
* sitting at her spot next to the Earl, as his personal secretary and keeper of his journal, Michelle sat with quill and parchment, studiously taking notes as needed.

Aye Mi'Lord, that covers it so far. I still show that we have 8 agenda items to go before coming to other business.
Paddy.douglas
ok then where were we? Navigator, what say you about our war ships? should we punch them up into the Irish Sea and give the NNGO pirates something to think of? or are they needed where they are?

* thinking that this would be a good time to have First Sea Lord Tom Rune here

bah you can't have everything lad
Lordparkin
Rise with his glass in hand he joins in the toast. To the memory of Princess Gabrielle, a true Lady!

Later Lady Caitilin arrived. With her greeting Pads, and then the rest, Parkin stands to greet her and then make room for her at the table. Here you are Cait, have this chair, and I will drag this other in.

As the summaries are given, Parkin nods in agreement at most of them, drawing a frown occasionally as some things do not sit so well with him personally at this stage.

Noting that Anto the fiend will be on an Irish Council for a term draws a low chuckle from him. Wonder what his under boss Mick___ thinks of his boss doing that?

Then the discussion moves onto the two Brotherhood war ships. Excuse me Navigator, before you answer the Earl, I would like to say a few things.

Parkin pulls a message from his note case. I have this from First Sea Lord Rune.

Attention Lord Protectors Council

Lord Parkin
Northern Knight Commander

Dec 10th 1458

We have docked in Ireland, all went well. Tism Douglas met up with Robbie Douglas and they are on their way. I am sailing now for Barnstaple where we will dock this vessel. From there we have an overland journey plotted. More on that as it unravels.

I met with a Genaoese Captain, they are grateful for the work our ships are doing in their region and would like to continue that contract. Please have our Lord Protector give this great consideration before dispatching them north or elsewhere.

Give all my regards. I look to be back in the North for the Summer winds.

Tom Rune
First Sea Lord
Blood Oath Brotherhood

That is dated almost a month ago. It traded hands across 2 ships to get to me. Seals all in tact, and was coded. I have since had word that they have been in Gloucester and South Hampton. They should be on their way back to Barnstaple by now, if they not there already. Parkin points the various spots out on the map as he was talking. I bring you this information for your consideration My Earl.
