[ORP]Merryweather Fortress

Caitilin
Hello General Parkin, thank you for the chair but I'll stand by the fire and get warm before I sit,

I was in Carlisle, my Lord, not that long of a journey. But I will not get use to this cold. The mention of food makes Cait's tummy rumble softly. If there is some stew and bread, that would be delightful.

Cait moved to the large hearth and warmed her self while she listened to the Earl recount what had been covered. She unbuckled the leather case and slid out the the parchment maps inside. I just picked these up at the cartographer. They are the most complete maps to date. I hope they will be a help.

Caitilin laid the maps out on the table. As you can see the channel is narrow here. She pointed to the closest pint between Ireland and their own Isle.

The new from Genoa is wonderful. She takes a seat around the table and listens.

--Navigator
From his seat down the table, the Navigator stirs. Lord, Ladies, Commanders, General. I have watched and listened to you all throughout this night. What I can tell you is that our boats are well in use and if they are still needed in the south I would advice you leave them be. I have no wish to go against the First Sea Lord in this, nor you Lord Protector.

With a sweep of his hand the Navigator places a map of all of Europe and the Med on the table.
Excuse me, but this might be of use. We have worked hard to build this relationship with our Southern Allies. I would be hard pressed to want to change that just now. On the other side we have to consider the winds and storms in the Irish Seas. If we bring them back now, they will arrive just in time for some violent seasonal times in the Irish Seas. Much prefer to have them here for the summer then lost on some rocky shoal in a tempest.

I just have a private wish to be released at sometime soon to be with our sailors. My heart is of the Oceans, not the fields.
Jamie.douglas
Jamie jumps up on Cait entering. He gives her a nod as she does her rounds greeting all. Good to see you Viscountess.
Jibbs.graham
Viscountess Caitilin. Jibbs jumps up and starts to get some food for Lady Caitilin Plenty of food here tonight. Would you like gravy on your roll with this fine lamb? Handing her a plate with rolls, meat and a plenty supply of steaming garvy he looks to make sure all is set in place for her. Will Lord Baldar be joining us? I keep missing him in Carlisle, is good to have you both back in the City.
Caitilin
Cait smiled at Jamie and Jibbs. It's good to see you again too Jamie. Lord Mayor. My husband may or may not be here. It will depend on his business in the Embassy. He does send his greetings and good wishes to all.

She blushed as she was interrupting the Navigator. Please continue Sir.

* With Marklin's permission, Martin brings up a tray of deserts and hot rolls. He places them on the side board and then tops up drinks around the room.
Mo.graham
Retaking his seqat after greeting the Viscountess, Mo is again taken back to the Navigator and what he said. So you would have us give the pirates a reprieve till the summer months when the winds are more favourable for our ships? Have I got that right?
--Navigator
With a nod to the Viscountess, Navigator looks back at his notes. Then Knight Ranger Mo Graham asks him a question.

Sir, it may be considered a reprieve, I am sorry for that. My concern is for the ships and the crews. The Brotherhood has invested heavily in these two war ships. I would not have them thrown against the rocks and shoals of the Irish Seas for no reason. If you have a battle we could take the pirates to then let us at them I say. If it is just for patrols and the such, I see it we better served to remain in the South and assist our allies. That conflict in that region will be hard with the change of the Season in the Med. Our lads serving there will be hard at it and put to work to meet the demands of our allies.
Jamie.douglas
Jamie takes on the words of the Navigator and nods in his agreement of what is said on the matter.
Max.bonner
The discussion sure has moved across many subjects, several way above his pay grade. Max sits there and thinks of his mate Morningset, somewhere away serving with the Brotherhood Naval forces. Wondering when they will next sit in a tavern and drink the night away as he and Mo do often these days.

It will be good to see Lord Baldar. His work for the Realm has shown great results, you must be so proud of him as we all are.
Wolfmist_pendragon
Wolf was meditating at the beginning of winter twilight in his study at Pendragon Castle in Cumberland. Incense smoke wafted lazily across his nose and low candlelight flickering through his eyelids giving life to shapes and shadows and playing on his imagination. A breeze picked up and Wolf felt a draught catch a wisp of his otherwise very still hair and interrupted the rhythm of his breathing. As he sensed the interruption he opened his eyes and watched the haze of smoke move into coils.

He became aware of an image of a Northern castle he knew, the image had come to life in his mind during his meditation and his memory recalled it as his senses picked up the presence of the breeze.

Getting up, he made arrangements to leave, prepared his horse and left for the road to Carlisle. Some hours later he reined in Knight, his black Clydedale war horse, outside the main gates to the castle complex. "Hail, it is I, Pendragon!"
--Red_harry
Within Fortress Merryweather's Guard House, Harry stood watch. Through the falling snow he picked out a lone war horse of massive proportions making its way up to the main gate.

Lord Wolfmist called out his greeting, which led Harry to unlock the eye of the needle and step out. Hail Lord Pendragon, it has been a few weeks since the Earl and Viscountess have had your company. I should have recognixed Knight when I saw your mammoth coming closer. Harry turned and ducked his head back through the needle. Open the gate lads, it be a friend of the Laird.

As the gate opened, Harry led Lord Pendragon into the court yard. Lord, may young Jimmy see to Knight for you. He knows your beasty well. Jimmy steps forth ready to take the Clydesdale.

After the mighty warhorse sorted Harry led Lord Pendragon up through the Fortress to the Earl's study where the late night session is well under way.

Wolf nodded, rode through and dismounted, "Aye, a few weeks indeed. Months, maybe. Not to be rude, but please make sure he is well fed, given a pint of best and well groomed to be dry of snow? We have ridden hard tonight. I hope you don't mind?"

Wolf let himself be lead by the man, "May I ask who summoned me and for what reason?"

* standing at the door to the residence, Marklin heard the question.

Lord Pendragon, welcome back to Fortress Merryweather. That invite would be from the Earl, Padriac. He is holding a Council up in his study, he will be happy to see you have arrived regardless of the snow storms.

If you will follow me, I will take you up.

* with that they headed up to the Earl's study
