Wallace Castle

Jasmine_sw
Jasmine nodded in understanding and a mild frown appeared on her face. "Yes, Kel", she replied, not paying much attention to the footsteps outside of the room, "I know. Several messengers disturbed my peace during my brief stay down in Chard, especially right after the attacks in both Dumfries and Kirk... a town I used to call home for quite some time and I was so..."

She suddenly stopped, seeing Kelster draw his sword, and drew her own that she had laid next to her seat. As Jeal came into the room, she realised there was no reason for her to be so alert. She lowered her sword and put it back to its place, next to her seat. She sighed in relief, walked over to her cousin and gave her a tight embrace. "It's good to see you again, Jeal.", she said and smiled, releasing the hug, "No matter what happens, it looks like a good time for a family reunion, doesn't it?"

Llop
Stretching his legs after the long ride, Llop helps Jealeaia with the burdens on the horses, handling them over to the footmen. Following her at a short distance, he sees the Wallace castle doors open and a glint from weapons. His hand goes to his hilt before recognizing Kelster and Jasmine. Llop approaches and greets them.

"I'm glad to see you again, Jas, Kel. I see you're alert. This means things are still stirring here," Llop says, hugging them.

As we near the doors I can tell who's voices I hear and smile but as the door opens quickly I step back quickly thinking they're too on edge these days...raising my hands I tilt my head as I look at my cousin with sword ready and tut at him as I step to hug them both...

Now now Kels I think you need to have a drink or two before you hurt the wrong someone with that thing...

Giggling I walk over to the bar and look for a bottle of Irish whiskey and some glasses ...

Tod walks over to the Castle, he spies Kell

My good man there are ships in Carlisle harbour, remember the waring you gave me, I am still alive. I would feel bad if some fate befell you.

He turns to Jasmine, ah a very old friend of my Uncle Barse he had nothing but nice words to say of you. It is great to make your accaintance lass.

"Sorry Jeal", Jasmine replied, her cheeks getting a mild red colour, "but alertness is like second nature to me. I can't really help it... It comes naturally, as if my sword has a mind of its own or something..." She would keep talking, but she felt her words weren't making any sense any way. Then she saw Llop come in right after Jeal and gave him a hug too, "I'm glad to see you too, cousin Llop."

She was ready to speak more, when she saw a stranger come into the castle. She was about to welcome him the same way she had almost welcomed her cousins a few minutes before, with her sword, when she heard the name of a good friend of hers. "Stop being so alert.", she thought to herself. "Stop being so alert.", she kept repeating in her mind. "Aye", she nodded to the stranger, "Barse MacTavish was a good old friend of mine from the time we both lived in Kirk, back when I was nothing more than a ragged peasant girl. May his soul rest in peace. It's great to make your acquaintance, sir...?"

A man comes from seemingly nowhere while I pour the drinks ...startling Jas again and I laugh a bit to myself as I walk over and replace her sword with a glass of whiskey...but as the man speaks and I hear his thick Scot accent I narrow my eyes as I sip from my own glass thinking how many of my Scot friends I now must consider enemy and how that has torn at my family on both sides of this mess...

Have a drink cuz and let's try not to get Kel's nice rug bloody...

Sassy awakes hearing some noise downstairs, wondering what all the noise in she puts her robe on and does it up with her hair looking a complete mess , trying not to wake Score who snuck into her bedroom last night, they where talking all night and he must have fell asleep there, she creeps out of her bed and kisses him on the forehead and walks downstairs

OOH MY JAH

she runs over to her cousins Jeal and Jasmine and gives them a hug
Its so good to see you both how are you this is such a surprise

she then feels a tap on the shoulder, she screams
Kel you are home
she gives him a big hug, tears of happiness run down her face
I have missed you so much my dear brother

Jasmine was waiting for the stranger's response when she saw Jeal grab her sword and put a glass of irish whiskey on the table next to her seat. "Umm, Jeal", she said hesitatingly, after clearing her throat, "what exactly do you think you are doing with my sword?" She approached her and took her father's blade from Jeal's hand and left it back where it used to be. "Don't worry, cousin.", she added, "I don't poke people with sharp things while at home." She took the glass of whiskey to drink some, but as soon as she touched the glass on her lips, her cousin Sassy grabbed her on a tight hug.

"I'm so happy to see you too, dear Sassy.", she replied and returned the hug, still holding her glass in one hand and trying to keep it in an upright position at the same time, however she spilt some whiskey on Kelster's rug. "Oops...", she added, when she realised what had just happened, and released the hug. "Erm, Jeal, were you saying something about Kel's nice rug?", she continued, while scratching her head, feeling rather uncomfortable, and left her glass back on the table. "I think it will smell irish whiskey for awhile. And...", she bent on the rug to see how much damage she had done to it. "...irish whiskey smells so nicely on rugs." She smiled innocently to her cousins, but immediately looked away wrinkling her face intensely and muttering: "So nicely..." hoping her last reaction wasn't noticed. She hoped that Kelster wouldn't pay much attention to that little accident.

Tod eyes the newcommer, at least she was smart enough not to try for her sword

Aye Jass it is good to meet your aquaintance, funny it had to be here in England, have you moved from Kirk.

Aye yes, I fear I do not want to kill some of your kin, Kel may not be impressed.

My old friend Coast falling early on in the battle was enough for me.

How about a toast

To the fallen

Tod raises a glass

Laughing softly as Jas' response to my taking of her sword and her easing it back from me I shake my head...then noticing one of the Brigade I brought with me for guard at the door I nod t him and walk over ...taking a missive from him of report from the battle I instruct him to set up camp and have guards stationed around the property...

Turning back I go to refill my glass when Sassy comes running in hugging me and Jas and giggling a bit I hug her back ...and watch Jas smell the rug for the whiskey she spills...and again shake my head slightly to her antics...leaning over I place a hand on her shoulder and softly pat...

There there Jas...there is more to drink and I think that will be more cleanable than blood would be...

Standing upright again as this other man speaks I just look at him as he mentions killing kin and think he can't be so stupid to think he has any advantage here to do such a thing...

Jasmine realised she had been successful in embarrassing herself once again. She stood up again and nodded to Jeal, almost muttering, "Yes, you're right. It will be more cleanable than blood." She cleared her throat -- she always considered clearing her throat as a means to escape embarrassment -- and looked back at the stranger.

"Aye", she replied to him with a nod, "Jah, or Fate or whatever you want to call it, plays strange games with people's lives. Oh, I have moved from Kirk a long time ago and made Glasgow my home. It's strange we didn't meet there indeed. But then again..." She stopped and looked at her cousins one after the other, before continuing: "...I even met my long lost brother, who I considered dead for 18 very very long years, in a place that I would least expect it. It wasn't Kirk, it was neither Glasgow nor our birthplace of Wiggy. I met him to the south end of England, down in Somerset." She nodded and grinned widely, before speaking some more: "Jah does play strange games with people's lives sometimes."

Hearing him mention about not wanting to kill her kin, she couldn't help but reply to those words of his too. "To be honest, sir", she said smiling, "you wouldn't stand a chance to kill any Wallace inside our very own home. So, yes, it's good that you don't want to do it." When he also mentioned her cousin's name, she realised once again why she had left her home and country for so long. Seeing Coast fall in battle twice in three months, hearing of the mortal injuries of her cousins, no matter which side they had chosen to fight for, no matter during which war they had fallen, witnessing the passing of her cousin Dominiceco and finding her other cousin Patrullero dead in Girvan, seeing friends die or flee to get away from all the warring and killing had been too much for her to handle and it still was. She had seen too much in so little time, but her reunion with her brother had given her hope. Enough hope for her to ride all the way back north, having her brother's words always in her mind: "We will rebuild, Jassy. We will rebuild."

She grabbed her glass from the table, holding it more firmly than before, and raised it for a toast,
"To rebuilding."

Wondering whether the rug would have a hangover tomorrow, Llop raised his glass, toasting with his cousin-in-law, and lowered it to his lips, his arm pressing Jealeaia's shoulder to his chest.

He could almost hear the rug toast to rebuilding, with some
*hips*.

Looking around in the room, for no particular reason, Jasmine's gaze fell on a window nearby. She noticed it had gone late and, no matter how much she had wanted to stay with her kin longer, she had to continue her travels further north. She left her glass back on the table and wrapped her tartan around her shoulders and her head, making it look more like a combination of a collar and a hooded cloak. She strapped her sword on her back and hanged her bag from her shoulder.

She gave a hug to each one of her cousins and bowed her head to her old friend's nephew.
"It was great to see you all", she said, trying to keep it brief, "but I must continue my travels. Please, send my greetings to our cousins that I didn't manage to see. Till we meet again." She left the castle and headed to the stable where Blossom, her horse, had been waiting for her all that time long. After making sure that everything was set, she climbed Blossom's back up and rode out of town.

Perrin wakes taking a moment to figure out where he was. Laying there as he remembered the night before. How he and Sassy were talking into the wee hours, and she fell asleep. He must have fallen asleep as well, he did not remember. Looking around the room he noticed she was not there.
Hummm he thought, should I sit here and wait for her or go looking, I do so hate to impose on another’s house I better stay here

With Egremont held tightly under lock and key, the impediment of leaving the town had kept Lil away from her family's castle. She'd had not seen her brother Kel in what seemed like ages and a pretty chatty little bird had whispered to her that there was something like a reunion beyond the castle walls. Rubbing her hands in glee, she passed the great gates of Egremont, now that they were finally open and set foot towards the castle together with her ever faithful companion, the black wolf and of course, Adelle, who'd been bored to death while stuck in the town for so long.
Time passed quickly, though Lil'd rather she kept quiet, Adelle seemed overly excited by the trip and the chance to see some new faces even. She kept talking and giggling like a young child, which in fact, she was not so far from being, but Lil did think she should start acting and most of all, thinking like a young lovely lady that she had turned into. She'd counseled her about the likes of young lads these days that were looking for a companion but for some reason, Adelle though it was all nonsense[...]

In a matter of hours, they'd both reached the castle. In safety, for all it seemed, but with a headache Lil knew she could only save herself from with a well deserved mug of ale, or whisky, or whatever Kel had stocked the cellar with. Just the thought of it and an ever growing thirst made her hasten her steps until she reached the great door. T'was early in the morning, but nevertheless, she was home! So there she went, bumping into the door like a madwoman, hoping someone will come and let them inside.
