Wallace Castle

Hikenai
Throwing her arms about Kel, she kissed his face and neck before she pulled away with a big grin.
Darling, you know my liking for wine! And it has been ages since I have even had a sip!Hikenai's eyes shone as she looked into Kelster's. You have such a good influence on me, my love. I don't know what I would do without you and the life I have here with you in Egremont, she whispered, as Hikenai stood before the fire, her arms about Kelster, drawing him close.

Henry
Henry's cheeks are starting to glow pink as he warms up inside the house. The mulled wine adds to his merry feelings and to his pinkness. He laughs as Kel teases Sas and pretends to shield her from the 'nasty' man. He knows that truly Mr Kel would never hurt his friends. The roasted chestnuts taste lovely and Henry can't help but feel anything but happy. While he helps to decorate the tree with everyone else, he starts to sing have yourself a merry little Christosmas. And he is sure that it is going to be wonderful.

Marae
Marae looked up at the tree in amazement, she had decorated it so well, it was one of the prettiest trees she had seen in a long time. She smiled and then helped herself to a glass of wine and took a sip. Mmm, it was good.

She then realized that the holly and mistletoe they had collected hadn't been hung yet. She grabbed the bag they were in and picked out the nicest looking pieces. Then she tied some red bows to make then extra festive. She placed the holly along the walls and then tied a couple bundles of mistletoe to various places on the ceiling. It should be fun to watch people when they got under the mistletoe.

This was going to the best Christomas ever.

Kelster
You have such a good influence on me, my love. I don't know what I would do without you and the life I have here with you in Egremont.

Smiling at his wife, Kelster looks into her eyes, those eyes that he had first seen in Evesham, the eyes that had captured his soul from the moment he first looked into them. Well my love, From the moment I met you, you have been my life and now, with the baby soon to arrive and darling little Neo set to become part of our family. Well, life does not get any better than this for Kelster Wallace.

Spotting Marae continue decorating the grand hall and placing mistletoe in strategic locations, a thought comes to his mind. Turning back again to Hik, he speaks to her in an excited voice. What do you think to us having a party Hik and inviting everyone in Cumberland to join us? We could send out an open invite to all the citizens of Cumberland and all those not from our county but are visiting at the moment?? Do you think that would be all right?

Hikenai
She listened to Kel's words and swore she could feel his heart.

Life gets no better than this for me either, Kelster. Hikenai said gently, solemnly, as she stared into Kel's eyes. Once more, the world with all it's tinsel, it's trappings, foil and glitter faded away. All that remained for Hikenai was the essential. Family, friends....one love.

He went on, We could send out an open invite to all the citizens of Cumberland and all those not from our county but are visiting at the moment?? Do you think that would be all right? And Hikenai was drawn back into the present moment, aware again of their festivities, and she smiled broadly, as she said, Yes, Kel....we can do that! We can do anything you like, darlin', it's Christomas!

Henry
Henry is having much fun with the drinking and the decorating. Being here with his friends right now is like a big party for him. From out his pocket he pulls his tin pennywhistle and plays a happy tune for everyone to dance to

Hikenai
Well done, Henry, well done! Hikenai called out. The hauntingly beautiful melody filled the hall as Henry played the pipe for them.

Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gath'ring winter fuel.......

Therefore, Christian men, be sure
Wealth or rank possessing
Ye who now will bless the poor
Shall yourselves find blessing.....

Some of the lyrics to Good King Wencelas echoed in her thoughts, and Hikenai was rapt with a dreamy sense of wonder as Henry played. She was aware that little Neonea stood silently listening, as well, a most angelic look on her sweet face.

Seeing the open invite for the Christomas party, the Village Idiot wasted no time in hot footing it over to the fancy castle. He'd never been to a posh place before and there was a promise of free food, drink and women!

Wandering through the doors, he spied mistletoe! Positioning himself beneath it, he closed his eyes, puckered up and waited to be leaped on by those full of Christomas cheer.

Kelster
With the haunting sound of Henry playing Good King Wenceslas , Kelster really started to get into the Christomas spirit. Bravo Henry, that it beautiful.

Sipping some more mulled wine he then went back to the table to pour himself another glass. As he did so, he spotted the village idiot walk into the grand hall. He watched as the idiot placed himself strategically under the mistletoe. Trying not to laugh too much he walked over to him. Taking a glass of wassail with him, Kel walked up to the village idiot and coughed. There you are sir, have this to warm you up and welcome to Wallace castle.

The sound of a cough beside him, the Village Idiot's heart raced and he braced himself to be ravaged under the mistletoe. The deep voice though telling him he'd be warmed up, had him gulping in fear. Eyes shooting open to see Kelster wallace stood before him, his knees buckled and fear inhabitated every fibre of his being.

Coughing awkwardly, he spluttered
Ere ye'se a handsome fella Kelster Wallace, but ye'se not really what I was expecting fer me first kiss. Dropping his voice he smiled apologetically at Kel and confided I was hoping for a woman to be me first, but well's being yer guest and all, I suppose I could close me eyes and pretend, if that's what's the custom amongst you posh folks at parties?

Stretching his hand out to accept the drink, he downed in one, to give him courage to face what might be about to happen.

Hikenai

Hikenai started over to Kelster and the village idiot, carrying the figgy pudding for the poor fellow, then she stopped as she was startled by his words! He stood beneath the mistletoe, which was a dangerous place, if you asked Hikenai! And he said to Kelster, quite seriously,
Quote:
I suppose I could close me eyes and pretend, if that's what's the custom amongst you posh folks at parties?

Come on now, Hikenai spoke up boldly, Let's get you some more refreshments, sir! Come this way, Hikenai said with a big smile, indicating he should follow her into the sitting room, where more delicious foods were spread banquet style upon a table!

Plugged and clotted though it may be, his nose (oft wiped, but never cleared) leads him to a Castle with a Buffet-like table in it...

In a near-religious experience, he slinks through anterooms, wardrobes and other rooms with fancy names he's never heard.

Arriving at the most interesting place (beside the kitchen, of course - but he's been kicked out of too many of those), he exclaims in an awed whisper;
I sees puddin' -an' I sees 'ot stuff too! I'she jus' takin' the mickey, or i' all tha' up fer grabs?

And so, he launches himself at the banquet (with no clue whatsoever what that French-sounding word might mean)
Aiiane
Several more establishments and homes were regaled with song before coming up to the gatehouse of a castle. One of Aiiane’s guards approached and requested they be allowed entrance, which was given as the Wallace’s had opened their home to merry-makers, guests and revelers.

The dove grey coach drew to a halt and the footman dismounted his post to open the door, bearing Aiiane’s crest, pulled out the step and placed it upon the grown. He then assisted, Aiiane and then Josina from the interior. Toby had secured the reins and dismounted from the driver’s perch and Nicolas had dismounted and tied his horse to the coach’s boot. This had been repeated at each stop.

The foursome approached near the front entrance and Toby gave them a note upon his pitch pipe. They had discussed which song they would sing next before leaving the last home, wishing not to repeat too often the same carol.

"The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown,
Of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown.
Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.

The holly bears a blossom as white as lily flower,
And his mother bore sweet Christos to be our sweet saviour
Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.

The holly bears a berry as red as any blood,
And his mother bore sweet Christos to do poor sinners good.
Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.

The holly bears a prickle as sharp as any thorn,
And his mother bore sweet Christos on Christomas Day in the morn.
Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir.

The holly bears a bark as bitter as any gall,
And his mother bore sweet Christos for to redeem us all.
Oh, the rising of the sun and the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ, sweet singing in the choir."

Just as the village idiot was speaking the words, Kelster was taking a large sip of some mulled wine. Nearly chocking and spitting out some of his drink, he began to cough uncontrollably. Trying to regain his breath he finally managed to stand upright again and address the Idiot.

I think you have the wrong idea my good man. I really..... Just then his wife approached and spoke to the Village idiot.

Let's get you some more refreshments, sir! Come this way

Sighing with relief when Kelsters wife had stopped him snogging him senseless beneath the mistletoe, he was keen to get away from the mistletoe as fast as possible, so gladly made his way over to all the food. Spying the snotty nosed dwarf who he assumed was the serving boy, he threw a coin at him and in his most cultured voice Oi, stop nicking the guests food, get me one of everything!

Stood waiting to be served his food, he cast his eye around the crowd, looking for a woman who might be looking a bit desperate and so might not punch him in polite company, if he tried his best moves on her.
