Wallace Castle

Ladylizzy
As United led her onto the dance floor, Lizzy stepped over the fragments of broken Vase, and was relieved that someone else had been responsible for the first breakage.

His hand around her waist, pulling her suddenly close to him, and her hand in his... she blushed a bit, it had been quite a while since she'd last danced like this. She placed her other hand on his shoulder, and they began to move to the music, there was a slight crunching as pieces of vase were futher reduced in size.

As she was leading Odo inside, Lili saw Altana also standing in front of the door, looking very meditative. Lili almost burst into laughter but kept quiet and turned to Odo: "Shhht...wait here a second". She then lightly stepped towards Altana and jumped next to her with a bo! and started laughing. "What are you doing out here? The party has just warmed up! Come, let's get Odo and go inside". She took her hand and went back for Odo but at arrival, they saw him laying unconscious on the floor. "Oh, dear! What could have happened? Help me get him up, Altana!" [/i]

Hikenai
The coach came gliding to a smooth halt in the sallyport of Wallace Castle. Great gusts of foggy vapor were expelled forcefully from the nostrils of the four horses bearing the coach, and the lady Hikenai, wrapped in the sumptous fur-lined cloaks that were a gift from her brother, Chrisiusmaximus, alighted the the steps carefully, clutched Sir James Bland's hand and smiled. We are here at last, Sir James. The last step in my journey. Hikenai had never felt more finely attired. Her dress was the most lavish she had ever worn, and her petticoats were trimmed in lace etched in gold leaf! Hikenai had to laugh as she thought of that, the gift from her youngest sister, Veroncia! Hikenai wore her golden, ornate engagement ring, its huge ruby glistening like blood upon her slender white finger. As she and Sir James ascended the pathway, Hikenai saw the the main entrance to the house was very impressive. She had no time to take in it's beauty, however, for there, much to her dismay, at the very entranceway, lay a young man, unconscious and being aided by two lovely young women.Oh my! Can we help? Hikenai turned to Sir James with a moment of uncertainty. If the young man doesn't regain consciousness, I may want you to return to the Inn for my medicine satchel. Motioning to one of the servants, who was now peering into the foyer, Hikenai said I am Hikenai de Bevill, please, hurry to the lord of the castle, tell him of my arrival, please, and tell him I await him in the foyer. Then, as the serving man sped away, Hikenai dropped to her knees by the lifeless man, and took his wrist between her thumb and index finger.

As they were trying to wake Odo up, pinching him and sprinkling cold snow on his cheeks, Lili became worried it might not work as hoped. "I so hope it isn't as bad as it seems, Altana", she sighed.

Oh my! Can we help? I am Hikenai de Bevill, please, hurry to the lord of the castle, tell him of my arrival, please, and tell him I await him in the foyer.

]"Lady Hikenai! What a most unfortunate way to meet! He has fainted, I'm afraid..." she almost whispered and watched Hikenai take Odo's pulse. She leaned towards Odo and looked at his hand clenching the flute, she took Altana's hand and clenched it as hard. "What do you think happened? And surely, what can we do?"

Having gone off by herself to one of the other rooms, she goes to the window and looks out upon the beautiful snow. The room was not lit and that pleased her. She enjoyed looking out at the bright white snow in the moonlight. Watching it fall slowly, she begins to think of where Aragorn might be. Looking towards the road, she sees nothing.

Spending time in Egremont and being here tonight has stirred something in her that she never expected. She didn't feel right staying any longer either. Knowing she must leave immediately, she decided to sneak out the back of the house, not wanting to disturb the enjoyment that the Wallace Family was having. It was nice seeing Sassy again. She will catch up with her again soon I'm sure.

Leaving the room she was in, quietly walking down the hall and getting her cape, she found her way out the back of the house without interupting anyone. Coming around the front she sees WilliaM waiting alongside the wagon. She startles him accidently.

Sorry WilliaM. It's time for me to leave. I'll go ahead and take these fish and place them by the door for later. I am sure Kel will know exactly what to do with them. Keeping them out in the cold, should help with the smell too. WilliaM please take me back to the inn for tonight. I'm sure I will find Aragorn soon.

As WilliaM helps her into the wagon, closes the door and drives away, she watches the castle slowly fade into the night.

Kitsada
She'd been having a perfectly smashing time, just before she clumsily knocked the vase to the ground. She stopped dancing immediately, and looked to Kel, worried.

Kelster wrote:
Oh my Jah, that was my mothers vase, it had been given to her by her mother, it has been passed down from mother to daughter in the Wallace family for generations!

She couldn't even speak. This was just unthinkable, how could she be so stupid to do something like this? Oh my Jah, she'd never be able to make this up to him, or to the family, she would be outcast, hated, cursed, this was horrible.

She felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room, like she couldn't breathe. Her vision started to close in from the sides, she was blinking and blinking, trying to clear it. She felt a sudden pain in her head, where she was wounded, and she put her hand up to it, wondering if she was bleeding, as she felt her knees give way, and she started to crumble down, her arms reaching forward grabbing at Kel as she lost consciousness.

Kel watched in horror has Kit seemed to lose the colour from her face and stumble towards him. Catching her, he picked her up and placed her very gently on a chair, if only Hik was here he thought to himself, she would have something to help Kit. As he was looking at Kits pale face, he heard a commotion coming from the hall. What on earth is happening now! He muttered to himself.

I am Hikenai de Bevill, please, hurry to the lord of the castle, tell him of my arrival, please, and tell him I await him in the foyer.

As thackery hears Lady Hikenai speak, he runs off to fetch Kelster Wallace. Bursting into the room, he shouts out in an anxious voice. My lord Kelster, come quick, there is a man collapsed in the foyer, and a Lady Hikenai has asked for you!

My lord Kelster, come quick, there is a man collapsed in the foyer, and a Lady Hikenai has asked for you!

Just hearing the sound of her name filled Kel with joy. He run into the foyer and sees Hik on the floor, holding Areths pulse, resisting the urge to go straight over to her and kiss her, he puts his hand on her shoulder, whispering in her ear. It is so good to see you my darling, is Areth alright? Lady Kitsada has collapesd in the sitting room and it may have been my fault! I hope you can help her as well Hik.

Hikenai
Hikenai asked Sir James to return to the inn for her satchel. It is under the bed, Sir James. She loosened the man's collar and noted the paleness of his face. She hoped he'd merely overimbibed, perhaps he had an empty stomach. "Lady Hikenai! What a most unfortunate way to meet! He has fainted, I'm afraid..." The young women had alarmed expressions on their faces and their friend seemed completely unconscious. Hikenai could not help thinking there might be something more going on here than a faint.
She looked up just as Kel approached.........., he puts his hand on her shoulder, whispering in her ear. It is so good to see you my darling, is Areth alright? Lady Kitsada has collapesd in the sitting room and it may have been my fault! I hope you can help her as well Hik. Oh no! Poison!? Could it be? Since the incident year before last with Melissaunde, Hikenai had been extra sensitive to the signs and symptoms of poisoning. And Kit! She wanted to go to her friend immediately, but first she must help this young man. Turning to Kelster, she asked, Please, get your servants to help this man inside to a couch and out of the foyer. We must go check on Kit once I am certain he is breathing normally.

Kelster
Please, get your servants to help this man inside to a couch and out of the foyer. We must go check on Kit once I am certain he is breathing normally.

Kelster wanted Areth to be alright, he knew him very well and considered him a good friend, but his thought were of Lady Kitsada for he thought it may be his fault that she had fainted. With no time to fetch a servant, Kel picked up Areth from the floor and carried him into the sitting room and placed him on a couch. As he watched Hik look after Areth, Kel could not help but have a warm feeling inside, she was so caring, so helpful, so good at healing. Thoughts of her taking care of him in Kendal, after his fight with Haddon, rushed across his mind, how lucky he was to have her, how lucky that she was here. He thought of the days before he went to Penrith, charging there like a madman. How different his life had been before then, how lonely he had been, always drinking, always fighting, to mask his lonely heart. But now she was here, she was with him, the feeling of utter contentment filled him with joy.

How is he Hik? Will he be all right? So hoping her answer would be yes and that she could tend to Kitsada, he gave Hik a reassuring smile.

Hikenai
I would like to know the cause of his unconscious state but he is breathing easily. Perhaps the young ladies would stay here with him while we go to Lady Kit? Hikenai looked at the two young women who had been seeing to the man Kelster called Areth before she arrived on the scene. It was clear to Hikenai they were going to stay with him, so she placed her hand upon Kel's arm. As they hurried down the hall, she called back to them, Please direct Sir James to me when he returns. He is bringing my medicinal satchel!
It was then that Hikenai turned to Kelster, as they rushed to Kit's side, smiled and whispered, My darling I am so happy to be with you again! Hikenai could see Kelster was concerned about the Lady Kitsada. He seemed to feel responsible for her illness so they hurried down the hallway. Kit! Kit's ashen face and the dark smudges beneath her eyes alarmed Hikenai. She was unconscious and laying on one of the divans that were placed along the wall of the large dance floor of Wallace Castle. Kit was just beginning to regain consciousness when Hikenai and Kel arrived to kneel beside her. I am so happy to see you. Kel told me of your bravery in battle and that you took a wound fighting on the border. Hikenai put her hand on Kit's neck, relieved to feel the strong beat of her heart. I am honored to be your friend, Kit. You have my respect and gratitude. I would be honored to fight along side you should the need arise. Hikenai then sighed. She had taken a leave of absence from the Brotherhood. She did not know when she would return. Hikenai sighed thinking of her uniform in her trunk back in Barnstaple. Her mind quickly returned to the present and she looked at Kit closely. Did you faint? Does anything hurt? Have you eaten? Drunk much? And Hikenai stared into Kel's eyes, hoping that these two were not the first taken with some strange malady that had struck his guests!

Over to the left!!

BANG BANG BANG went the hammer.

Now to the right!!!

BANG BANG BANG!!!

Jah her head hurt. What were they doing? Bob, Bill, and Erik the axe, Kendal's famous erection team, were building something, but why were they mounting it on her head.... OWWW...

Then she saw couples dancing... what kind of crazy dream was this? and damn her head was still killing her.... it was a waltz, how nice. She started counting along with somebody's big feet... oh it was Kel, she could tell now. One two three, step two three, turn two three, *crash*.... oh Jah, it all came flooding back to her, as she started to hear something. Voices. The pain in her head was as bad as when that scot tried to cleave it with the sword.

I would be honored to fight along side you should the need arise.

She blinked a couple times, and her vision cleared to reveal Hik leaning over her, face full of concern.

Oh I don't know if thats the best idea, clearly I'm not so good at that stuff...

Kit gave a wry grin, though the pain showed on her face.

Did you faint?

Umm I don't know...

Does anything hurt?

My head is killing me, is it bleeding?

Have you eaten?

No.

Drunk much?

Umm no more than anyone else...

Altanaofdaga
Altana hardly noticed lady Hikenai, so intent was she on making sure that Odo was alright. Secretly, she was pleased that it wasn't her who had fainted, and that she had a decent reason to go inside. Lili squeezed her hand and murmured something, and Altana chided herself for being so selfish. Here was a man in some serious trouble, and Lili was genuinely worried about heim, yet all she could do was think of her own selfish desires. Furious with herself, she turned her attention to the task at hand.

She looked on the limp form of Odo, trying to discern the cause of an apparently healthy man's unconciousness. From without, it seemed impossible. The color was gone from his face, but otherwise, he seemed normal. Otherwise, with him still out, there was no way to know what caused it. Altana slapped him, harder than any of Lili's pinching. The area went whiter, if possible, and Odo's eyes cracked open a bit, and he murmured something about a bed -- Altana's chest swelled with hope -- then they closed again. She let out the breath she didn't know she had been holding, and pressed the hand Lili wasn't holding -- still smarting from that slap -- onto Odo's chest, feeling the heartbeat. She fixed her eyes on Lili's, and said,
"This might be worse than I thought."
It didn't seem like a mere faint...maybe something more sinister was at play....

Anyway, Odo had to be moved, and taken somewhere softer than the couch he was on, like that bed he mentioned. She pulled one of his arms over her shoulder, and tried to carry him. She made it a couple of steps, then collapsed. He was far too heavy for her. She turned to Lili to ask for help, and noticed that Lili wasn't looking well either. "Well, Bugger this," Altana muttered to herself, and instead began to drag Odo by his feet.

The floors were polished marble, and offered little resistance. The stairs were a little harder, and Odo's head took a few harder hits from them, but it was the best she could do. Altana felt like a spy of sorts, dagging a dispatched body across the floor and into a closet.

The work was hard. Altana could only drag him a few yards at a time, then had to rest a couple seconds.
Man, Odo, you need to lose weight, she thought. She came to the door from before, invitingly ajar. There was someone collapsed in there, too. Altana noticed the goblets of wine...her dry tongue begged to have a small refreshment before continuing with the work, and she aquiesced to it. Leaving Areth's limp body laying outside the door, she walked into the room, dripping. She payed no heed to the other people there, only the goblet in front of her. When she reached the table, she took it, tasted it and nearly drained it -- when she spat it all out, ruining further her new party dress. That was not right, that did not taste much like Kel's usual good fare. "This wine's not right!" She announced to noone in particular. Who knows what might be wrong with it? In any case, it's a good thing she hadn't drunk any.

It was only then that she realized that Lili had not followed...
Areth
