Cathédrale de Strasbourg - Couronnement de l'Empereur Ludwig von Frayner Ier

[RP]Coronation of His Imperial Majesty Ludwig von Frayner I.

Salome_

Build of red sandstone located centrally in the city of Strasbourg on Place Kleber one building is raised above all - Strasbourg Cathedral. Just a few years ago – in the year of grace 1439 - the building was completed and now serves as a place to worship the Lord, to pay tribute to Him praise Him in glory and honor.

When approaching from the west the glow of the red colored sandstone appears and captures one, three, with gables, images and canopies decorated portals invite one to explore the interior of the cathedral. Over all ablazes with light a great rose window. On the left the north tower dominates filigree and majestically into the sky as if to touch it. It is the highest building people have been creating in the whole world.

Once inside the ecclesia one will be caught by the light, which glistens through the colorful glass windows of the aisles and clerestory, such as those of the rosette on the west façade and the apse in the east. High dominates the vault, that is held in the style of the Gothic builders, arches and cross-ribs flow smoothly into each other and by carrying out its ease they realize a concept of width and gratification, worthy to the transcendence of God.

To the east of the church bathed in the light of the windows of the choir is the holy of holies - the altar. Candles burn in the apse, illuminate the room and provide warmth and satisfaction.

For this special day the Cathederal was decorated with the emblems of the Empire, all five meters another huge banner with the double eagle was placed on the upper level.
Bows in black and yellow decorated the rows of the cathederal and a large red carpet showed the way directly in front to the altar. Yellow flowers were placed on the altar and everything was well prepared for a remarkable day in the Empire. The servants of the imperial household worked closely with the acolytes of the Cathederal to make sure everything is just as perfect as it can be for the next day.

Thursday, the 30th of May, 1461 - Inside the Strasbourg Cathedral

It was two days before the Coronation and the Cathedral was full of servants and helpers, who were coordinated by the sexton, under the sight of H. Em. Borromeo Galli and the Imperial officers attending the duty to prepare the big church.

All the preparations were actually at the end, but among every brocades and ornaments, candles and flowers, something maybe could be still to set up.

But there was also a matter for this need to be yet ready: in the afternoon, escorted by the Imperial Guards and some of the Councillors, the Imperial Trousseau -the crown, the sceptre, the ring and the sword- woukd have been translated into Its glass case from the Palace to the Cathedral, and that would have been part of the upcoming further ceremony.

It was an important task to make sure the imperial treasury into the cathedral. These days were busy, Strasbourg was a hectic place, everyone needed to work twice as hard and long as usual, there was almost no time to take a breath. Everyone was working to make the coronation perfect.

It was even for Salome the first time to have such a responsibility, although plenty of her colleges referred to her and asked for help regarding the upcoming event, it was nothing Salome was used to. She was proud to be a part of it and to be able to answer almost all questions although it was also for her the first time she needed to swear the oath towards the Emperor and foremost towards the Empire as imperial councilor.

She was nervous but tried to not show it to anyone, sitting in the carriage guarded by the imperial guards and always having an eye on the chests in where the imperial treasure was placed. The cathedral was not far away from the imperial palace and Salome was thankful for it, since at least in her eyes the longer the journey the higher the risk.

Side to side to Ranian the imperial general she entered the cathedral in order to hand the imperial treasure in the hands of his Eminence. Salome was supposed to hand over the chests in which the imperial ring was placed, the ring was a symbol for the diplomacy and it was for her important to be responsible for the diplomacy of the Empire.

She was fond of the work of the Imperial marshal and sure that all imperial guards would scarify their life to make sure that the imperial treasure was safe.

She slowly nodded as Ranian requested her to meet later in front of the carriage. Happy that she handed the treasure chests safe she returned to the carriage and waited for the imperial Marshall.

Thursday, the 30th of May, 1461, Evening

His Eminence had waited for the ending of the transportation of the whole Imperial Treasury, then he had blessed all the Guards resting next to the case where the Trousseau had been placed, in the presence of the Chancellor and the Leader of the whole Imperial militia.

The theca was now in the chapel on the left of the apsis, with the Imperial Guards in front of it, and nothing seemed to worry about its safeness. When the sun was going down, he prayed for the safeness of the people in defence of the Cathedral, then he let the sexton close all the doors, so the only people into the church would be the Imperial militians.

After having greeted the soldiers, the Primate took the way to the sacristy door and exited the building from there. No one could have entered the place unitl the next morning.

Friday, the 31th of May, 1461

The day before the Coronation, all the preparations were ready, so Mgr Borromeo Galli should dedicate only to the waiting of the clergy and the preparation of the Mass. The sun was shining brightly, but the weather outside the Cathedral was still a bit cooler than the usual days of May.

Saturday, the first of June 1461.The cathedral.

Strasbourg was ready for the coronation.

The journey was long,
and his eminence Tacuma had arrived at the first light of day in Strasbourg.
The carriage had left him in front of the cathedral.
Like every time its beauty stopped the respire.
He entered slowly and raised his eyes in gratitude to the Lord.

Then he got closer to a chair and knelt down and gathered in prayer

Well my guards, as you see in this room there is the Imperial Treasury, which you must protect at the cost of your own life, Aura, Violet, Nienke and Gypsy, you are placing on all four sides of the theca, Zeiss and Schlauron you're behind the door while Bombadil and Ares you placing out of the room before the door.

Bombadil
Accompanied by Ares, Bombadil stood guard at his position at the cathedral gate. Their uniforms showed the proud eagle of the Empire and the Aquilae Imperatoris. Their swords were still in their sheath, where they hopefully would stay. But they both held a long shining lance.

Being in front of the cathedral, he would miss the complete ceremony. But the honor to stand als guard at this glorious event compensated that by far. He had never been so proud.
V.i.o.l.e.t
When she was chosen to protect the imperial treasury, the face of Mary Constance expressed great surprise. In fact in the Imperial Eagles militated for a short time.

Preparations to reach the shrine were pretty fast, and communication in the same day, towards evening, were all present on the spot to wire the situation.

Inside the sanctuary, where the imperial treasury was kept, were her, Aura and two other guards he did not know the name.

The General, calmly and precision had given commands, then placed himself at the front right side, perfect for the dress uniform blue and gold.

- At your service, General - only replied, aware that he had received an honor but also a responsibility.

The big day had come. The city was in turmoil and he awoke early in the morning, he was going to finish in the top of the Cathedral. He wore a beige fully padded doublet and tight on the sleeves, collar, combined with a pair of brown pants swollen on top, tucked into high boots blacks, together with a chain of gems and a gold ring bearing the family coat of arms , and the baronial crown.
Arrived in front of the Cathedral of that building was amazed by the imposing red sandstone. With difficulty his guards allowed his entry, so he sat in the pews reserved for nobles, awaiting the start of the ceremony.

Saturday, the 1st of June 1461. Inside the cathedral.

The day has yet come... thought the Primate to himself, while he was preparing for the celebration.

The doors of the huge Cathedral had been opened some hours before, when the crack of dawn had been passed for a long time, and slowly every seat reserved to the assembly had been slowly filled by people coming from all the SRING. In the meantime, also the nobles and the officers were arriving, populating the sections prepared on purpose.

The case containing the Imperial Trousseau had been placed next to the altar on the early hours of the morning and four Imperial Guards were protecting it from any possible damager.

Also the clerics had been reached the church, the ones who would have to assist in the celebration and the others as simple faithfuls among the other people.
