Strasbourg, ville inconnue pour la jeune fille qui pourtant avait fait le déplacement jusqu'à elle et essayait de ne pas s'y perdre.
Debout devant un miroir, la jeune fille se regardait, donnant un dernier coup de brosse dans ses longs cheveux. Elle devait être parfaite. Ne pas faire honte à la famille, ne pas faire honte à celui qui avait demandé sa présence.
Quittant son poste d'observation, Cira s'approcha de la table d'appoint et attrapa le petit coffret qui s'y trouvait. De là, elle en sortit un collier et le plaça délicatement autour de son cou avant de retourner au miroir et de regarder l'effet donné. Ce n'était pas trop mal et la robe combinée au collier mettaient en valeur ses yeux bleus.



Des petits coups furent frapper contre la porte de sa chambre et la jeune Raveline sortit de la pièce. Il était temps d'y aller.
Suivit de près par Sebastian, l'homme à tout faire de son oncle, Cira quitta l'auberge où elle s'était installée pour grimper dans un coche et se laisser conduire au lieu du couronnement.

Ça va, je suis bien ? Tu as bien serré ma robe hein ? Et puis tu reste bien avec moi, tu me laisse pas toute seule et de toute façon si tu le fais je dis tout à tonton.

It was two days before the Coronation and the Cathedral was full of servants and helpers, who were coordinated by the sexton, under the sight of H. Em. Borromeo Galli and the Imperial officers attending the duty to prepare the big church.

All the preparations were actually at the end, but among every brocades and ornaments, candles and flowers, something maybe could be still to set up.

But there was also a matter for this need to be yet ready: in the afternoon, escorted by the Imperial Guards and some of the Councillors, the Imperial Trousseau -the crown, the sceptre, the ring and the sword- woukd have been translated into Its glass case from the Palace to the Cathedral, and that would have been part of the upcoming further ceremony.

His Eminence had waited for the ending of the transportation of the whole Imperial Treasury, then he had blessed all the Guards resting next to the case where the Trousseau had been placed, in the presence of the Chancellor and the Leader of the whole Imperial militia.

The theca was now in the chapel on the left of the apsis, with the Imperial Guards in front of it, and nothing seemed to worry about its safeness. When the sun was going down, he prayed for the safeness of the people in defence of the Cathedral, then he let the sexton close all the doors, so the only people into the church would be the Imperial militians.

After having greeted the soldiers, the Primate took the way to the sacristy door and exited the building from there. No one could have entered the place unitl the next morning.

Friday, the 31th of May, 1461

The day before the Coronation, all the preparations were ready, so Mgr Borromeo Galli should dedicate only to the waiting of the clergy and the preparation of the Mass. The sun was shining brightly, but the weather outside the Cathedral was still a bit cooler than the usual days of May.

It had been a while since he last showed up in public, after some troubling times he finally had to power to get back to civil lifeand see what was happening around town. The journey had become quite strange, first he just wanted to travel, then he joined someone to pick up a ship in Italy and eventually he found himself in Geneve. He hadn't expected it to go this way and was quite sad that he had to leave his wife and friends to go at war, but duty was duty even though he didn't do a single thing in the end. The food in Italy always seemed to cheer him up, but the last day in Italy hadn't done him much good. There much have been something wrong with the food or possibly with the drinks, because as soon as the group left Italy he got sick. Every day it just got a little bit worse then the day before, it was almost a miracle that he even managed to reach Geneve. The moment he stepped into the city he fell down on his knees and thanked the gods for granting him a safe entrance. The battles were already done, but the war wasn't over yet. At first he was against the war and didn't want to go, but it was his duty as an Imperial Noble to help out and there was no other way to show his support then going there personally. He was glad that he battles were done, but also sad that he couldn't have been of much help to the brave people that did have to put their life on the line. Within a few hours of arriving in the freed city he left to the monastery to recover from his illness.

A few weeks later, it was finally the time to leave the monks behind that had been taking care of him the whole time. He stepped out of the monastery and sighed deeply, he was all alone now, nobody to help him and show him the way. He went to look for a decent tavern to stay for the night and get used to the normal life again. His health had been good for a while, but it was nice and safe inside so he had stayed for a while longer. Until he received a letter about the coronation of the Emperor. Being a noble meant that an oath must be taken when there is a new Emperor and this was the time to do it, it was time to go back to Strasbourg.

After a good night of resting he started to plan his way back, it was hard to find out where to without any form of transportation. Luckily there was still some money left in his pockets and he was given some food when he left the monastery. It didn't take long or he had figured out how to get any further and thus he went, first to Strasbourg and later he would look for a way to get to Holland. He was lucky to find a farmer who needed to sell some product close to Strasbourg and could drop him off pretty close to the Cathedral. It would be just a little walk further to get to the final place where he could have some rest before the ceremony would actually start.

The day had finally arrived, it was time for the coronation of the Emperor. There was one problem that he was currently facing, what to wear? He left most of his stuff at home and didn't take much in a suticase with him to Italy. He had never done something like this before, so wasn't prepared that this would happen. Normally on a trip he would always take his suit with him, but those were businesss trips, so it would be necessary anyway. On his walk around town he met an old friend, a fellow noble, who he had a lot during the past years. The guy did take some money with him, at least more then Robin had, and wanted to help him out. They went to a local suitmaker and let a suit be tailormade for him within a few hours. It wasn't the best suit he had seen in his life, but it was nice and it would be enough for the coronation. He thanked the man a lot and they splitted there ways again. He was ready to go into the Cathedral now, but apparently he wasn't the only one. The whole entrance was blocked by people wanting to catch a glimpse of the Emperor. He manoeuvred himself through the crowd to get into the Cathedral. When inside he looked for his seat, sat down and waited for what was coming.

As always they started out with the Credo so he quietly sang along.
