[RP] We all live in a house of fire

Johanna
In the night of the 30th September to the 1st October

They walked through Strassbourg. It was a very nice city and Johanna loved it to be there. She talked to Findecano about moving to Strassbourg. They could live there. It’s the center of the Empire. The place he has often to go to. It would be in the middle of the Empire. Not in County of Holland not in German Kingdom. It’s a compromise. She would ask her Empress Liz von Frayner if she needs another court lady. That would give Johanna something to do while Findecano is occupied with his job as Imperial General.

This evening they went back to their tavern and wished each other a good night. Johanna put off her clothes and dressed herself in her white nightgown. She opened her plaid to brush her hair. Afterwards she braided it again. Now she was ready to go to bed. But before she could go there she heard Findecanos voice behind the door.
“Milord?” she asked surprised and worried. He sounded alarmed. She hadn’t heard the bells because her window was closed. She opened the door. There he stood. Fully dressed and with his sword at his belt. In the corridor she was able to hear the bells. “There is something wrong…” she said, looking up to him. “You must go! I will look after myself.” It was a bit scary. It could be everything. - A foreign army in front of the walls of Strassbourg, thiefs in the palace… or a fire.

She gave him a shy kiss and watched him went down the stair. As soon as he was out of sight she turned and hurried in her chamber to get dressed again.

The time had continued his tireless running, and the time it happens, it was already dark. Zeiss had tested the endurance of his horse, wishing to arrive during the day, but the trip took longer than expected. In addition, he had to suffer setbacks. First, the two robbers, in their common madness, believed to rob him. Who knows if their bodies still decorated the side of the road, or if it had been cleaned.
Then, well, a victim of the aforementioned and now dead miscreants, who was trying to reach the city on foot and without provisions. Zeiss had agreed to bring the man with him, but it was significantly slowed her pace.

After Nero entrusted to a groom, with the usual warnings, Zeiss was finally at the gates of the imperial palace. He looked up and could see the stars in the sky. He grunted a few curses under his breath. It was too late, he could not have fun to wake the Imperial Princess at this time.
Yet he had to see her. He wanted to discuss her daughter with her. And given the blatant Anorexia his purse, he could not afford any inn. So he decided to tempt the palate.

In the corridors of the palace, the Commander looking for a home, or even better, someone with any authority in this place. When he explained the situation well enough, we would find a good place to spend the night with a member of the Order of the Blades.
But his research was interrupted by the sound of a bell. According to the logic, it probably showed something.

A fire.

She loves quiet places when daytime officers go home and emergencies of the day subside. It can then take time for background records without being systematically interrupted by letters. It crosses, passing the imperial offices, several Guardsmen as well as colleagues from the Escort and stops smiling to exchange a few words. The calm and ordinary routine of an evening at the palace in fact. Except ... In the sudden night, a sound that all fear inside the Toscin sounds, harmful among all sign. Sarah suddenly freezes, looking for signs of the cause of the alert.

Daario had been sent in the stable, he was not an Imperial Guard from a lot of time so he was obliged to do much to achieve all the other soldiers with more experience.
he had groomed some horses in the main barn and he had lying some new hay to feed them.

I finally finished the job and I can rest, he said

While he was taking his things, closing the barn door, Daario heard a bell sound come not far from there. A strange glow lit up the night of Strasbourg .... the palace was burned.

The door opened and he saw Johanna in her nightgown. If the conditions were different, the situation would have been awkward and not very courtly for both of them, but disaster struck and there was no choice. It wouldn't harm her or him, as both didn't pay any attention to the fact. He remained silent for just a few moments and he needn't explain himself. Johanna had already understood that he had to go. She kissed him goodbye and he said: ''Stay here, here you will be safe. I will see you soon. Promised?'' he said to her, but before he didn't give her a chance to answer. He ran down the stairs and out of the door of the tavern, onto the streets.

But now what? He had to find out what was the problem, he wanted to help. He walked quickly towards the Imperial Palace, where he would surely be needed in this unknown crisis...

The bells kept ringing louder and louder and more insistent, following the voice of a man who cried fire. The Cup broke into a thousand pieces on the table left out the amber liquid wetting the leaves. Ranian ordered to silence the officer who had begun to give crazy while the door opened suddenly letting in her sister Magda before and Katamazai after. Both informed the terrible news, a fire was started at the Imperial room wing. The woman had to decide quickly, there were people to be saved and the fire from taming

Magda!

turning to her sister

Run at servite housing, get help from him

pointed to the officer who was in the room with them

Wake them up and run them all at the stables to take buckets, you have to put out the fire, if you just call other guards, but first passes from Lucrezia, in the infirmary there were some inhabitants of the castle that were sick, help her to take them out. Go!

dictated orders to her sister turned her gaze towards Katamazai

Katamazai! You call any other imperial guards, run at the rooms of Ministers and take them out of the building and if someone does not open ... well the door broken

Katamazai was already running out

Ah! Kata! Although they can be comfortable, don't use the secret passages can be terrible places of death in cases like this ...

the two imperial guards left the office to fulfill what had been ordered, even Ranian ran out from her office by going to the West side of the building

[Private appartements – Imperial Palace of Strasbourg – Night from September 30 to October 1 1461]

Yes Thank you, it will be enough for this evening.

Of a gesture, the Empress dismissed the handmaid who, as every evening, had come prepare the imperial layer, watching that the cupfilled with fruits was at disposal of the Emperor when he would join his apartments after a day of labour, closing the heavy curtains on the room illuminated only by some candles and flames dancing in the wide fireplace.

She liked this moment, when the silence invaded the Palace, the sign that her husband would join her finally. What had become more and more rare in the course of the months and years of his reign. How many times she had fallen asleep well before that he comes to collapse on their large bed to get up a few hours later only, long before than the day has raised. How many times she had observed him, sleeping on her side, looking at his sometimes calmed face, but more often agitated of light spasms doubtless owed to some unpleasant dream. How many times she had wanted to skip against him, but had not made it not to disturb his too much rare sleep .

But this evening, she would not allow him to spend the major part of the night locked into his office, well decided to talk with him about some small concerns which she met with their children. These made certainly their pride, but they were growing up, took maturity, and it was time to make decisions for their future of all three. Lorenz, the elder son, had made her understanding that he planned to take wife soon, Luisa had reached the age of her majority and it was time to find her a husband, and Lothar, the youngest one, the time had come for him to perfect his education .
Never a decision, small other big and however it was, had been taken unless she and the Emperor did not discuss about it and carefully thought through, so it would not be there otherwise for future of their heirs.

Crisping in an apple, she opened the door of the imperial apartments, shouting out to the guard in faction.

Make the Emperor knows that the Empress wishes his presence.

A light and a little bit bitter smell of smoke reaching her nose, she pursued:

And make so that in the future, the wood thrown in fireplaces is very dry, this smell is really unbearable!

And as she closed the door behind her, the bells began to sound, congealing the blood in her veins.

Recently recruited into the ranks of the Eagles Forum, the Baron was on patrol on the high walls of the Imperial Palace when the East tower began to ring the bells.
The Baron turned abruptly towards the echo of the alarm; something serious was happening, and the general stampede that gradually increased in intensity it confirmed the gravity.
The Emperor was in danger of life!
Immediately all the guards were called and He too found himself dragged to the infirmary, where more than a few sick was carried out on the shoulder to be rescued.
The desperate cry of a little girl curled up in a corner called the attention of the Baron, who immediately took her in his arms, pressed her to his chest and, holding a hand over her face to avoid them to breathe less smoke as possible, took her outside and handed to a servant before thrown back inside looking for others in need of help .....

Some servants were very clear: the Imperial Palace was burning. That Palace, symbol of power, work, Empire...was burning.
What did she do? She tried to think how act or where she had to escape but...nothing. She can't act, she can't think, not when the fire took possession of the Palace.
She saw many Imperial guards run through the corridors. Only Massimo can catch her attention

Excellency please, we have to leave the office. It's not safe for You and for Your baby

With a spontaneous gesture, Violante put her hands around her baby, that little creature still inside her, as a protection of that hell. Her eyes were open as never in her life and full of terror

I can't leave. I have to find my sister. And the other Ministers? The Emperor? No no I have to find Sofia. In Savoy narrowly I lost her, it can't happen again

She had friends in the Councillors and even in the guards: she hoped that they were all alive and well

Imperial Escort - Imperial Palace Strasbourg - Night of 30 September to 1 October 1461

Busy at his desk, the Captain Escort ended scrolls, whose writing gave him the wrong head. Seriously, it would eventually crack. All these noble beginning to annoy him tremendously ! Others were responsible for the security of the Palace at this moment , and Escorts were rather quiet , returning from Augsburg with Their Majesties at full gallop . They had burst horses, changed several of relays are to continue , and return quickly to the land of Lorraine. Angry, he continued to write and character Everyman resurfaced .

Lest ? You can pass this?

It refile her recipes , some of which are stained with ink . No wax seal , even if he has enough to put normally , but now it takes no time , and then it is not in its usual. It is a nod to his Lieutenant, and straightens , going to the window in two strides , when he hears the bells .

Forget it ! Call Audric and with me!

He grabs his cloak he had placed on the back of his chair, tumbles rapidly near the apartment of Their Majesties , without really taking the time to strike , finding himself face to face with Liz . Fortunately, despite the late hour , she was not lying .

Majesty ... Must we went out quickly. Lestat and Audric be here in a moment ...

Him, his job is to protect them , and if there is a fire , it evacuates . He already knows where he 's going to take the imperial family, to protect safely while other members of the Imperial House to occupy the premises. He swallowed, alarmed , but tried to appear calm .

The captain was grumpy, pissed under pressure and it was not the time to do caguer.
The crunch of the pen that rubs against the parchment, wielded by an angry clenched hand and made me cringe.

He handed me his letters hastily and quietly I borrowed a little wax for sealing.

Bells ...

As a smell of burning ... My blood ran cold

I was putting the letters in my bag and followed Louis through the corridor., A slight detour to the office guard

Audric, Sarah fire! come on!

I returned at a run behind the captain. Must say that the giant was quick and qu'ilme had to work extra hard to catch

I burst into the apartment and imperial brown while taking care of the Empress, I looked around for the kids. It is always filled in the legs a kid, except of course when we look for.

Highness, or are the children?

I breathed a big hit

Louis, we have to s'separed, I'll take a ride in the kitchen

In the light of the candles sat Christin, with a cup of wine and reads the letter of their children. It seemed both to go well at the parents of her deceased husband, a wistful smile crossed her face. Just as she had placed a parchment in front of her and dipped the quill in the inkwell, she heard the bells. Abruptly she went out of the chair, let the quill fall and hurried in front of the door. There she saw quite a few soldiers, and heard the calls, she looked around and headed in the direction whence the callss came. "Fire" is buzzing in her head, when she saw lestad ran them on this.
