(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Pagan
The flask Noro had given Pagan was a small one, so two clandestine nips had diminished it's contents to a half. Still, it had made a quick work of the hangover and served as an excellent breakfast for Pagan, and the curative would last her long enough to get her through the parade, which was the main important thing here. After that she would have to think of something else, but if she absolutely had to suffer through a hangover, she much rather suffered it in Church than during parading. Perhaps she could even have a clandestine nap there, under the wide brim of her Navy hat?

Of course, she really couldn't wear a hat inside the Church, so maybe not. Still, at the moment she felt happy, energetic and more than ready to receive the King's greetings and start marching. The parade ahead seemed like an amusing jaunt!

Looking round, she sees she isn't the only one skipping the parade. She nods a polite greeting to Kalens and clasps her hands behind her back to wait. It was a beautiful day.

Kalens had sat on the steps and pulled out a small bound sheaf of papers of collected Reformed Church prayers that he was going to bring to the monks of Nottingham priory to illustrate.
He'd look up from time to time and saw a lady approaching. Getting to his feet she had gotten close enough to recognize it was Lady Lark and he smiled warmly. Kalens returned the friendly nod in greeting before rolling up the sheaf and tucking it back into the sleeve pocket.

She smiles crookedly back as he stands. "No need to stand on my account. I imagine it'll be a while before the parade gets here."

Kazzia curtsied to the room at large and turned to Daisy with a smile, Katiya had made two simple suggestion about the lass' hair and Kaz hadn't been sure which the woman wanted to take when she left the room, she always left early if she could for she walked with small steps. She left Katiya to get on with it and made her way back. Somehow, as always happened, Daisy caught up with her, and was eating, good grief how long did it take her to walk. She was going to have to work on lengthening her strides a bit. The poor maid Lavea had sent was a bit shocked at finding Kaz right outside the door to the room, but had gamely held the door opened. She wrinkled her nose slightly when the Princess mentioned not causing trouble for the King. She was young, not foolish. While they might have fun, and Lord knows they would look to be having fun, whether they felt it or not, she herself knew better than to cause a scene of negative proportions. She'd already sent one of the maids to follow them along the parade route with her emergency kit, sewing for clothing issues, smelling potions for fainting from tight laces, bandages for them who put on brand new shoes not realizing they'd be walking a route today, mint to chew if their stomachs got nervous, and flask of ginger and honey tea was tucked into her own pocket. For she was afraid some of the ladies might have nervous constitutions. She had gotten over hers quickly, this was her element, she could be charming and happy, if it helped draw the kingdom together, with everyone. And besides, Lys, Louis, and the others would be there to see, and she wanted her family to be proud of her. She found her way to Taarna and linked arms with her. Alright lass, lets do this!

The morning had been hectic and Marie helped Caitilin dress. It was the first time she would appear in the full regalia of a Lady Companion of the Order of the Garter. There would be no riding Argento today but she would arrive by coach.

Jeremy jumped down from the back of the carriage and opened the door. He held out a hand for her. Gathering the robes of her station she accepted his hand, descending from inside. There was a crowd gathering but she spied Prince Louis.

My, my Your Highness, don't you look dashing. She grinned at her dear friend and joined him.

...'Why Dame Caitilin, tis good t' see ye... it looks like it just be ye and me representing the Garter this day.'...... he sighed, but managed a smile for one of his most dear and oldest friends.....' Mt friend ye look the part this day ye self and twill be an honour to walk with ye in the parade.'.....

Eumelia
Finding her fellow Templars in such a big crowd was like finding a needle in a haystack - it seemed to be almost impossible. Though everyone marched in the same direction, Eumelia found it a real challenge to get her bearings in the colourful cavalcade of flags and garments. There were so many people around. She scanned the crowd with her eyes standing on her tiptoes, hoping she would finally be able to catch sight of her order's uniform - all in vain.

Suddenly she heard her own name shouted by a female voice.

"Eumelia!" Madalena called and waved.

As she looked around to find the sounce of the voice, she realized her good friend form Chard. Madalena was standing just the other side of the street, shouting and waving towards her zelausly.

- Madalena....
- she shouted back hoping that the girl could hear her voice in the big noise, then moved towards her trying to struggle through the crowd. It was not easy at all. With her right hand she embraced the little chest containing her tiara, while with her left she waved back to Madalena. Finally, after bumping in some people, then almost knocked over a horse, she managed to reach the other side of the street, where Madalena was waiting for her anxiously.

- Madalena, it's so good to see you here. You look wonderful... - she said having a quick look on her beautiful red and gold garment and her elaborate coiffure. However, the crowd around them was too noisy to continue such a conversation about dresses and haircuts...
- Have you seen anyone from Chard? Any acquintance? Lady Melpomena, or Father Dunpeal, perhaps? - she asked her trying to talk down the noise around them.

Cullan
The horns called. It was time to go. Cullan's head shot up, suddenly overcome with nerves. "C'mon lads" he grumbled, pulling himself to his feet. He pointed to a cape that was hanging in the corner. "Someone grab 'at..."

He shoved the scone in his mouth as he hobbled down the hallways. Pages darted ahead to warn of his arrival. Each swallow of the bread felt like a lead weight. His nerves were all on edge. He would be King. None of this made any sense to him...but this was English government, logic need not be applied.

Cullan hobbled through the crowd of people and horses, making his way to the chariot. He waved to James, calling out
"Mornin' Captain. All set up ta go?"

Cordelia
Cordelia grabs the cape off the hook and hastens after Cullan, glancing at the men to make sure they were following. She caught up to him quickly, seeing as he didn't move very fast. As he calls to the Captain, she touches his arm, indicating that she had the cape.

Madalena smiled as Eumelia turned towards her and struggled through the massive crowd, trying to reach her side of the street. Unlike her, Eumelia was a Knight Templar and member of the Devon Navy, actively engaging in the matters of the Realm. The young woman was carrying a little chest in her right hand and looked glorious in her formal attire, even when she was almost knock down by a horse.

"Thank you, Eumelia," Madalena blushed slightly, not used to genuine compliments, and returned the kind words. "You look astonishingly beautiful, Eumelia." She grinned and approached the young woman, so that she could hear her better. "Actually, I haven't and I'm so glad you're here, Eumelia. I was feeling a bit overhelmed." She said pointing to the crowd gathering across the Tower of London. "I think the parade will begin shortly."

Sir Renard had worn the proud uniform of the Knights of England. His sword hung at his side as he rode through the streets of London to the parade area. He wasn't sure who would be there. Reyn stabled Rascal at the usual livery and the groomsman gave him a salute as he entered. Back agin' me Lord? Ah see the streets be filled with the Lords and Ladies all come in ta see the new King and his bride. The old man shook his head as he led Rascal to a stall and mumbled. Ah seen 'em come and go and not one is better 'an ta other. Ah seen no change and don' except to see one now, neither. Only thin's tha' changes is the folks they git around 'em. The old man turned as Reynard offered him the gold for caring for his mount. Thank ya me Lord. Ah take right good care a him for ya, per usual. Reynard tipped his cap to the man. I thank you kindly, my good man. You are a gentleman.

Reyn walked the rest of the way to the place where the parade would start.

For this coronation, Dame Sara had left the children with Julia, while she went up to London to do her duty as a Knight of England. Spotting fellow Knight Reynard, she fell into a spot next to him.

"Good day." she said.

Good morning Dame Sara. Reynard bowed and the looked around at the crowd. I saw Dame Caitilin over with Prince Louis. I got word that Sir Baldar has taken ill and would not be able to attend the King this day. Reyn offered Sara Jane his arm. Shall we join Cait and the Prince?

She watches the gathering and gives a small cheer as she sees the important people starting to come along as well. This really was a great spot to view everything as she was towering above nearly everything around. She glanced down and saw the rest of the people starting to arrive at the float and leans down yelling to them. "Oh my gosh! You guys really should see the view from up here!" She quickly fixes her dragon hat that nearly fell from her head before scooting back to the vantage point from the mouth. Oh she couldn't wait for the parade to start!

The letter came to the Restoration house in Rochester, and after reading, Alicia had sighed. She was out of the loop, living as a housebound widow, for the most part, tossing most letters that came addressed to her, out of the window and into the compost heap below. everyone wanted something or another these days. "Jah Damned peasants." She usually murmured to herself bitterly but not today.

Today she read the letter with a curious pinch to her brow, "Cullan eh....could be worse." She rang for her servants and sent for the maids, readying herself for a trip to London. A trip she hadnt made in a while.

On arrival, she found the crowd, and stepped down into the street, two large bulky male guards flanking her as she waited painfully for the parade to begin so she could follow along. She was looking forward to seeing another Sussexian Crowned....even if it was Cullan.

Eira
Eira looked at the bevy of bridesmaids clustered round the princess like... bees around a honey pot? No, not that, for the ladies were more like butterflies than bees and whilst the cloth of gold did look honey coloured as it shimmered the Princess of Wales did not resemble a pot. This was quite surprising, as Eira had thought that Aggnes in gold tissue, with an enameled white face would look... absurd.

The queen to be didn't look like a blushing bride, though under the layers of paint it would have been impossible to tell if she was blushing or not, but she certainly looked regal, and... if not beautiful certainly.... handsome.

Eira curtsied to them all, "Ma'am. Ladies all, you look magnificent. I doubt England has ever seen such puissance. This will be a day to remember, and to be spoken of for years to come."

She picked up the princess'es gift. "I am honoured by your charity Ma'am and shall treasure this memento of the day as much as I shall cherish the memories."

The horns blew, the signal for the king to begin his journey. "Now, I must leave you all and get ready for my part in the coronation. Jahspeed all, and blessings too."

The parade was taking shape and looking around, Cat tried to spy the Sussex Dragon. She knew that with Raella involved organising it, it would be a fearsome and imposing beast.

As the other representatives of England's various religions arrived, she smiled pleasantly at them, giving cordial greeting as appropriate. She knew Bishop Gawain by sight having seen him at the wedding for Destini and Allyn, but would have to guess as to whom Bishop Aleksander was. She did not know which others would be turning up.
