Kitsada
There had been much busy excited chattering and many busy maids doing hair and fetching paints and all of them making the final touches with jewelry and scarves and headdresses of all sorts. Every one of them looked radiant, but Eira had really outdone herself with the Princess, and she looked every inch a Queen, from head to toe, the gold dress also working magic to transform her friend Aggnes into this regal creature.
When she presented the goblets, Kit picked hers up with just the tips of her fingers, ridiculously thinking she did not want to get fingerprints on such a beautiful thing, and she went to the window to examine the detail work on it, seeing how the different houses were represented there and joined in the design, and thinking it very clever. She smiled wide and thanked her exuberantly, forgetting to add the 'Princess' in there.
Oh, Aggnes, this is lovely, thank you! I will have it brought to the feast and plan to drink many toasts with it today, and then I will have it to keep always to remind me of this special day.
She wrapped it back up and tucked it in safely with her things so it would be available later. Then she added the final pieces to her own outfit, and on top of her dress put on the full regalia of the Order of the Garter, adjusting her robes and getting some help with the hat until all was in place.
Ladies, you all look lovely, and will be a wonderful support for our Princess I know. I need to join the others for my part in the ceremony now, but I will see you later!
Upon reaching where everyone was lining up and assembling, she worried she might not see where she needed to be among the throngs of people, but she should not have worried, as these hats were very easy to spot, with the huge white plumes on top of them. Underneath the hats, she saw two other fine blue velvet mantles with red vestigial hoods that matched what she wore, and approached them, a smile on her face.
Your Highness Prince Louis, Dame Caitilin, Well met! What a fine day for a coronation!
Indeed the sun was shining and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. She waited excitedly with everyone else for things to proceed.
