(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Nigel
They had breakfast in their room before dressing so as to avoid any accidents which would mar their clothes. Nigel dressed in blue with a grey cloak with an ermine collar over the top.

When they were all ready they departed for Westminster Abbey. The journey from the inn to the abbey was straightforward, Nigel had gotten some advice from Cordelia as to where to stay. As they climbed the steps Nigel could see Ashleigh looking all around and craning her neck to see what was happening.

"We'll see the King, when he enters the abbey. The procession will be here soon, and we need to be seated before it gets here."

They enter the abbey and Nigel shows the invitations to a guard. They are then lead to a pew about a third of the way from the front, by one of the attendants. They were the last ones in the pew. Nigel went in first, then Ashleigh and finally Aldea taking the aisle seat.

Nissa watched the parade from the window of her office in the Royal Embassy. There was an excellent view over the streets of London from there, and the Hungarian Ambassador was glad to see this magnificient event. In her homeland there were no such parades or processions, not even when a new Monarch was crowned. On top of all, the crowd rolling along the street was so colourful, she could admire the flags and emblems of all noble houses, and knighly orders, as well as four huge dragons, that symbolized the counties of England. All this seemed to be in a strict order - in general: everything was really well organized.

At the beginning of the procession a storyteller was telling the tale of St. George and the dragon, Nissa felt it would be so good to listen to him from a closer position, but the march proceeded and she lost the man from her angle of view soon. Then some musicians came, followed by the army and navy representatives, some high ranked clerics and other important dignitaries... and about in the middle of the procession the new Monarch was travelling in his coach.

Nissa got too enthusiastic by that time to stay in the house. She shouted a "Long live the King!" from the window, then took her cloak and run out of the office being determined to join the colourful parade towards Westminster Abbey.

Vigfast
Vigfast was grateful that they had had such a hurry that he still wore his oiled old captain's coat. Ale will be good for the hair I have heard but it had probably been a little better to drink it ... he shook his blond hair to some disgruntled voices in the shrinking free surface he received as a gift of the beer dragon.
A hug sweetheart he said and held up his open arms to his dear Lynx. I think I have understood this with dragons now. Come let me tell you a story ... the dragons symbolize probably England's counties. The first there that offered ale so abundantly is from Sussex there live England's greatest drunkard and foremost brewers I have experienced it early on during my first trips in this country ... ... ... And there at the end of Cortège The Lumian Dragon mother and her Drakonetts supervising the whole thing with here piercing eyes and shining intellect England's future queen. It's a great story on the march very well planning I must say.
He looked closely at the cart and they eagerly waving bridesmaids.
There, two familiar faces Taarana and Kazzia He waved cheerfully back ...
Hurrah, hurray, hurray he shouted to interact with the large spectator crowd when the last entourage passed ... Well, it remains to take us into that monastery to witness the ceremonies to come. He took Lynx hand with his of lavender biscuits crumbly hand. Best we follow at the end of the parade or we risk not arrive at all ...

Saira chuckled at the party atmosphere. This was the kind of England she liked. Ale-breathing dragons and people wearing knitted dragon hats, and with their children on their shoulders so they could see the parade, or clustered around bards telling tales of George and the Dragon. She could just hear the chatter of the bridesmaids in the carriage, and their surreptitious giggles, exclamations of delight at the parade, or calling out to friends in the crowd. It was a big, moving Faire; a show, as Aggnes had said. People remembered things better if there was something amazing, that had made them smile. Some of the little ones in the crowd would remember this day as a special one, no doubt.

She herself had given a good pouch of silver to her young cabin boy Colin, and told him that he must spend it all on food and drink, games, souvenirs and not give her a penny back. You didn't see a royal wedding and a coronation complete with dragons every day, and she wanted to make sure that he got a chance to see it all and remember it. She worked him hard and he never complained; he'd make a fine officer when he was grown, and deserved a day off.

Regnold
In the middle of the crowd, finding himself a small rise behind the children and most of the ladies, stood Regnold, the head of House Palidor. He was dressed very festively for the occasion, wearing a red coat with fur trimmings - as bestowed of a noble from Middle England - tall, well polished boots and a white plumed hat. In his hands he held a flower that he no doubt meant to deposit at the palace after the procession or simply throw in front of the passing carriage of the king. He was smiling, straight-backed and visibly rested from the journey, standing next to Michael and exchanging small talk with his cousin. On the left side of his coat was a pin of the Mercia Regiment.

As the parade moved in front of him, Regnold became more and content. Such occasions are rare and royal coronation events have always been a sight to behold, even if so far apart. It was in moments like these that the strength of the kingdom fully came to light... complete with its colorful people and zeal for the crown and zest for life. As the dragons of various lands of the realm made their way in front of his vantage point, Regnold's lips broke into a full, beaming smile. What a show! And finally among them the Mercia Dragon glided into view. He observed it for a while, seeing it for the first time complete, scrutinizing the finer points of its epic construction.

"Well..." he leaned to Michael as the creature aligned itself right in front of the pair on its onward path, "You can certainly see Lady Amethise's hand in the sowing of the fabric there. The dragon appears to have no seams! If they only knew that such a creature actually does exist and lives in our very own Worcester lake..."

With the parade moving on and the carriage of the king approaching rapidly now, Regnold allowed himself one more lingering look after the mystical works of art. "Long live Mercia!" he added to the common shouts, "And long live the king!"

The crowd seemed to like the ale, and she laughed giddily! She waved from the dragons mouth but doubted anyone was able to see her from up here, but wow could she see EVERYTHING! She was even able to see the King from this point! Well she couldn't see behind her, but that was a small price to pay.

She saw another group standing around that looked a bit parched, and as the cups were being handed out she pulled the lever again releasing another stream of Ale from the gaping jaws of the Sussex Dragon. Oh if only she had some way of making loud roaring noises while she sprayed, but she could only use her voice. "ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRR" She went as loud as she could and started to giggle afterwards.

She had been meandering her way through the crowd, trying to keep up with at least the Dragon Floats, which wasn't hard as they were moving slower it seemed than she was. The joy of parades. She bumped into someone and held out her hands to pardon herself but saw it was Ellie. "ELLIE!" She cried happily before enveloping her dear friend in a tight hug full of joy. "Oh Ellie, i'm glad your here, are you alone?" She glanced around but didn't see anyone else who may be there with Ellie.

Lynx chuckled as Vigfast pulled his arms around her but tried her best to look serious when he explained to her about the dragons. But she could not keep herself from laughing when she looked at his beer wet golden locks of hair and the wet coat.
She shook her head and her blue eyes reflected the sun light when she looked at him. "Dear Vigfast! You smell like an old drunk yard and not like a chancellor," she chuckled and kissed his cheek.
When he took her hand to follow the parade she almost had to run to keep up with him...

*I felt my coattails grabbed from behind, and then heard the giggle and comment towards my barrel of Ale*

"Well.. come on Krissy, you know i'm very particular about my Ale, no point in coming all this way only to find the Ale not to my liking, so i thought.."hey why not take my own Ale..... again...."

*i saw the large door of the Abbey*

"Here we are my dear, lets go and stand, over their to the left, its out of the way but we should get a view of the nuptials.."

*i guided Krissy before placing my barrel on the floor, grabbing my tankard and pouring myself some Ale, it was at that point i noticed a familiar haggard face slowly making his way towards the Abbey*

"Is that who i think it is... old Dres?"

Tahsa
As Tahsa was walking briskly to catch up with the dragon, she could see the dragon wrangler perform finally. He would pull at the leash as the dragons head would dip down to the people below, making it seem as if he was stopping the wondrous beast from biting down on them. With each successful "taming" of the dragon he would bow deeply, enjoying his act of valor. Indeed Amethise had found a wonderful actor for the job today! She must remember to send her a gift once the celebrations were done.

Finally catching up with the float, she walked next to Amethise for the last bit to the Abbey. This has been a wonderful event thus far, thank you for helping with the dragon Amethise! Tahsa took a shortbread out of her basket and handed it to her. Not much for now but I hope to send you more once we are done with this celebration? Taking a shortbread out for herself she took a bite of the lavender infused ambrosia. Mmmmmm was all she could mumble.

Seeing the massive amount of crowds around him was always a fantastic sight to see, and he was able to keep his composure as maintained his pace in the parade beside the King's chariot. He searched ahead of himself to see how many people he could recognize, and it seemed there were many new faces he had yet to meet. He knew there were County dragons within the parade however he wasn't able to see them from his position. Perhaps he would be able to see them when they reached the Abbey. He checked on King Cullan to make sure his balance was kept while standing on the chariot, and so far it all looked good.

The noise was deafening as everyone around was shouting in celebration. He finally managed to see his Knight, Prince Allyn, riding on a horse within the parade with several other members of the Order of St. George. He wouldn't have much of a chance to speak with him today, but was glad he had come. He returned his focus to his current duties beside King Cullan and continued to survey the gathering of people around them.

Tali had been very glad for the idea of the rope to help pull the Devon dragon as he played, however the position he was in had him almost directly beneath the Dragon's mouth. That meant that as he walked, he was almost constantly showered with flower petals. It made seeing very far into the crowd or very far ahead of him difficult. But he had noticed that directly ahead of him was a fancy chariot, and a man dressed in an elegant cape and surrounded by guards and a few other finely dressed men and a woman. It had taken him a moment to realize that the man in the chariot was in fact the King of England, and he had taken a pause at the end of his song to gape slightly, though his fingers still played the music on his lute.

He would get a chance to play for the man ahead of him at the feast, when his attention might be able to hear the music better, but why wait until then? He was hoping that he'd do so well that he might be recommended to play at other noble, if not royal, functions, a chance to be able to more easily earn his living, as well as make even more people happy with his songs and tales. With this thought in mind, a wide grin split the blonde's face, and he redoubled his efforts, singing his dragon song again so that everyone around could hear him.

Amethise
As the parade wound its way slowly along the route, Amethise thought she recognised one or two familiar figures moving through the crowd; unsure whether they would notice amidst all the bustling merriment, she waved in their general direction… and received a few enthusiastic waves in return, from complete strangers! She chuckled and continued walking, still handing out delicious lavender shortbread to all who wanted it.

She had a clear view of the Sussex dragon, parading directly in front of their own, but the other two floats were still a little too far ahead for her to see details with any degree of accuracy. However, she couldn't help but notice that rose petals lay scattered underfoot, all along the route; she thought she had glimpsed a cloud of them in the distance, puffing into the air every so often -- perhaps they had come from one of the other dragons. "How pretty," she thought, "such a lovely and creative effect!"

The King's procession was also up ahead, while the Princess's followed behind the Mercian float, bringing up the rear of the parade. Amethise had, of course, been curious to see both! Now, as they approached ever nearer to the Abbey, she hoped that she might finally have an opportunity to do so, as well as enjoying an unimpeded view of the other dragon floats…

She smiled warmly as Tahsa joined her again, to walk the final stretch together. "I very much enjoyed helping to make the dragon," she replied, "and I'm having a wonderful time here today! Thanks are also due to you and Rain -- we wouldn't have had a dragon without you both!" She paused to accept the shortbread from Tahsa. "And I would say that this scrumptious shortbread is more than thanks enough for me -- I must ask, did you bake it yourself? It's exceptionally good!"

It was amazing how alone one could feel among throngs of people. Bree looked around and saw people she knew from her former home of Mercia, but not many from Devon. Perhaps all those from Devon were taking part in the parade or perhaps she just didn't know many people yet.

She kept pace with the parade in the background when the monumental sight of Westminster Abbey came into view. Bree gasped at the sight. It was the largest building she had ever seen and she couldn't wait to see the inside. She milled around the grounds, occasionally glancing at the parade to see how it progressed. Finally she took a seat on a nearby bench to watch as the Princess and her bridesmaids and the King made the final approach to the Abbey.
