(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Aleksander75
Aleks nodded to Parson Jones, who once again took the chairs back inside the Abbey and come out, thankfully just as the music was ending. He had wished that they had been able to practice the wedding, but it was too late to look back and wish things were different.

"Cullan Holifard, do you wish to enter marriage with this person?" He motioned to Aggnes with a slight head nod.

It was Cornish...and Kristin. How long had it been since he'd seen either one? A party...he couldn't remember when or for what, but that had been the last time. And he had told Cornish that soon he would be down for a visit in Salisbury.

He walked up to them and took Cornish's hand, giving it a good shake, "How are you, Old Friend. It's been a while." He took Kristin's hand and bowed over it, "Your Lady is looking lovelier than ever. I sometimes wonder just what it is about you that keeps her with you," Drest said, chuckling.

Drest looked at the crowd and spotted a clock, "Looks like it's time. We probably should find seats inside. Do you mind if I sit with the two of you?"

*It had been years, i was drinking my Ale, watching in amusement as some White Dragon was mimicking an attack on the new queen...

i took Dres's hand and shook it back just as good*

"My old friend, it has indeed been a while"

*Seeing Dres look at the clock, i agreed we should make our way into the Abbey and find some seats for the three of us to sit upon*

"Here Dres, have a tankard of Ale i always carry a spare tankard you know me"

*I poured another ale out into the tankard, then bending over i picked up the barrel and took it into the Abbey*

Cullan
Cullan smiled haughtily. If he could dance, he would have, but the woman gripped his arm too tightly. Either way, she listened, and that was an accomplishment. He nodded to the Bishop's question. Speaking loudly "Aye, I do."

the wording was a little odd. Then again, the Cakists were a little odd. He found it difficult to apply the label of 'person' to this particular demon descended from the moon.

Tahsa
Alunbier wrote:
It had been a terrifying journey down to London with Tahsa, in the highly expensive carriage that Alun had managed to hire. The driver being anything but trustworthy. He had declared after the outset of the journey that his previously stated charges were for the carriage only, and that he wanted paying personally as well, and by the hour.
This had resulted in him continuously slowing down to expand his final bill. It wasn't long before Alun had realized his cheating ploy and had given the man a nasty earache, bellowing into his ear to get a move on or else.

After finally arriving, Tahsa had been the first to jump off the carriage, hastily leaving to join the others with the dragon from Mercia, and had arranged to meet Alun at the steps of Westminster abbey later. He had stood and watched the wonderful procession, the different county dragons were indeed a spectacle.
He eventually ended up at Westminster just in time to see the royal cortege off into the distance, and the royal guard escorting them with all the regalia fitting for such an occasion.

Alun stood on the topmost step now eagerly craning his neck looking for Tahsa. His heart was beating with anxiety in case he should miss her, but then spared, he spotted her in her gorgeous red gown, her hair flaring out behind her in the breeze as she seemed to be doing the same worrying, looking about her as she moved.

Tahsa!!! I'm here darling. He shouted, frantically waving his arms about like a windmill.

Trying to find anyone in particular in this sea of people was hopeless she thought. She looked around and didn't see Alun. Standing there in the sun, she fanned her face with her hand and pulled a bit at the top of the bodice. She was very uncomfortable and to make matters worse the knee high men's boots were not exactly the best choice to walk in she discovered. After a few minutes she saw in the distance,an arm waving in the air. She started walking towards the person and reached out and touched the arm Alun! No my Lady said the voice as it turned about. Tahsa's face grew red with heat as she apologized for her mistake. Walking away to get closer to the Abbey was a chore, the street and walkways littered with people pushing closer to see the royal couple.

She was sure her face was as red as her broadcloth dress was. Tahsa was also sure she couldn't breath, just way too many people for her comfort. A long glance up at the top showed a man waving his arms frantically. Walking faster, while she pulled at the top of her bodice and waving her hand in front of her face. Alun, tis good to find you, I was so afraid we had gotten lost from each other today. She fanned at her face and began to feel a bit light headed. Do you think there is somewhere to sit? We aren't late are we? She fanned at herself a bit quicker now. Oh jah, do you have some drink? The parade was much longer and hotter than I would have thought. What she wouldn't do with a cup of rosemary tea at this time. She leaned on Alun hoping to catch her breath and perhaps not feel so faint.

Aleks leaned once more towards the couple and whispered, "I know the wording is strange, but just go along with it." He continued.

"And do you um...Lady Aggnes, wish to enter marriage with this person?" He nodded to Cullan in the same manner as he had done to Aggnes just seconds before.

"Considering that I just fought off a dragon to get to him - yes, I do."

Aleks tried to hide a giggle, to some success. After regaining his composure, he spoke.

"Do you two declare that you will remain faithful, and will support, love, guide and advise one another? "

Kalens gave Melanie a warm smile of comfort and simply nodded at her news... happy he had seen her and brought some comfort and even more as Applus arrived. Kalens gripped the man's wrist in the Scot manner of greeting.
It is good to see you again, my friend... and we have the lovely Melanie as well here.

He looked about as the King arrived and then the Princess Aggnes... A mighty spectacle it has been, no? OHHHH.. look Westmorland's dragon has arrived!!!
Kalens laughed uproariously as the Red Pen of Doom vanquished the terrible dragon of the North..

He looked to the guests from Scotland, Now will be the wedding of King Cullan to Princess Aggnes.. I fear that after the wedding I will have to attend to my duties for the coronation proper. Make use of the Tudor-Hohenzollern pew... third row back to the right of the altar.. You'll have a lovely view of the coronation there and not so jostled.
He reached into a pocket and handed each of them a small pin that bore in enamel upon gold the combined crest.. the Hohenzollern eagle with the Tudor rose upon it's breast.
Just in case anyone questions.. which I doubt.

Shall you accompany us to at least watch the wedding before the coronation? You should come too Lord Applus.

She watched the ceremony with both men in silence. As perfect as every other wedding she has ever been to. It will never be hers since she gave up on love.
Jamesthemad
Our large friend had been watching the spectacle of the "dragons" with growing irritability. He knew that if there had not been all the noise going on, the grinding of his teeth would very likely have been clearly audible to all present. As he watched all around, trying to see as much as he could, he had noticed Amerys' mount recoil and shy hard. On seeing that lady control her mount while reaching over one shoulder for the hilt of her blade, our large neighbor had unconsciously reached for his own. Then our neighbor realized that the action which had caused it was part of the ongoing spectacle. Slapping the hand's breadth of steel that he had bared back into its home, James had huffed a sharp breath through his nose. He could hardly wait for this bit to be over. Too many people, entirely too close, and far too much noise for his liking, this was. The young Captain understood the desire to provide a grand show. He really did. Nevertheless, he would be far happier once this part was done.

Looking round once more, he thought he saw Sir Emrys, and sent a discreet nod of greeting in that direction; though he had no idea whether that worthy had seen it. Then the wedding vows had begun, with little fanfare. At this, James tried to settle himself and pay attention. He still could barely hear over the ringing in his ears from all the crowd noise, but he was trying. Though his face might have looked serene, and his posture relaxed; our large friend could not hide his now-flinty eyes, nor the tight set of his hands at his sides.

Privately, in his own mind, our young neighbor decided to get falling-down-crawling-in-the-gutter drunk when this was over.

Jessa stood, back straight, neck high, and listened, the smile upon her face frozen, though confusion swirled inside. She wasn't going to guess what was happening between the bride and groom but it was defiantly different from her recent wedding months back.

She knew appearances meant a lot and saw to it she showed only the proper appearance yet noticed at least one grooms man as confused as she , but he too seemed to have covered it quickly. She realized then to expect the unexpected and she just lightly touched her arm to verify that the one flask of wine she kept after the bride sipped, was safely tucked in the pouch hidden in her sleeve of the sdress. She had a feeling it might really be needed by the time the wedding ceremony was complete.

She tried to focus on the ceremony and listening for requests from the bride, hoping beyond hope for the best as the wedding continued.

Kazzia snorted snorted as she listened to the priest begin the vows, as it was she managed to cover it as a delicate sniff and lifted her handkerchief to her eyes to dab. This Person? And pointed? Somehow she'd expected something a bit different, more flowery perhaps. Still she straightened her shoulders as though pulling together and held her head high, watching the other ladies carefully, especially Joli, she looked so delicate, Kaz didn't want her to have any problems. She took a soft breath feeling the reassuring presence of the sheaths of some of her knives move against her skin. She smiled as the poor Parson took the chair back away and smiled. The crowd, luckily, could have never heard anything, so all it looked like was the couple setting the ceremony, for which, all of England, had turned out. A slight wind ruffled her curls and she smiled, it seemed fortune would smile upon them and they'd have a most pleasant temperature for the ceremony. She relaxed her shoulders but for a moment, the long thin blade hidden between them allowed for nothing more, thankfully she'd always had good posture, and as of yet, no one had ever called her out on the blade, for today, it might be best, she concealed it until she could hand it off to Ame or Captain James. She smiled and turned her face slightly to catch the breeze, watching the treetops she could see to ensure it would not be too strong for the ladies skirts, she didn't think to ask if everyone knew the trick of weighting their skirts down with stones. Hers wouldn't' go up in a gale, but some of the others looked delicate.

Cullan prepared himself for the drolling on of wedding ceremonies. He could remember how boring his first had been. Swore he'd never do it again because of it. He was surprised, then, when the man looked at him expecting an answer after barely a sentence. "wait..." He muttered, looking at Aggnes, and then the Bishop. " 'ere's th' bit on 'obey'...I didn't hear ya include tha' part."

She sighed - hadn't he read the small print? An explanatory mutter in return, then. "It doesn't, and it had better not, but it does include something about staying faithful. Repeat the parts you actually intend to follow, I'd suggest. An oath is an oath."

She lifted her voice to be generally audible, following her own advice as she did so. "I declare that I will remain faithful, and will support, love, guide, advise and defend him."

"Obey..." Cullan muttered to insert in get recitation. "women obey th' husband. 'At's th' natural order..." he looked out of the corner of his eye between them, where the hunky Sussex dragon guards had lined up in all their glory. One was entirely smooth but for his eyebrows, his well muscled chest shining from the oil that had been applied. He chewed his lip, thinking of how badly his leg needed a massage, and what that young strapping lad could do to ease the tension in his - he cleared his throat, muttering to her. "touché." he swallowed, then spoke louder "Aye. I'll support, love, guide and advise 'er...an' all 'at."
