(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Aleksander75
When they had exchanged rings, Aleks smiled and lifted his hands once again and spoke to the couple, but loudly so that the crowd gathered around the stairs could hear: "You have declared your intentions and your promises before those gathered here and before Jah. You are joined in marriage this day. What Jah has joined, let none break apart.”

Parson Jones had prepared a small table next to the Abbey entrance. Aleks walked over there to sign the certificate. “I will need the royal couple and their witnesses to come and sign as well please.”

The certificate looked like this:

Robinoflocksley
Robin stood in place as a groomsman, watching the wedding with a bit of curiosity. It was a quick wedding, something he could definitely appreciate, given how quick his and Llyres's had been. His eyes rolled slightly in exasperation as the royal pair bickered at the 'altar'. He knew that Aggnes's comments and request were to ease any pain that Cullan might be feeling from his leg, but she had been present just as well as he had at the meeting of the entire Embassy Board with Darien, where Cullan had insisted out of stubborn pride to stand until given leave to sit, despite how much pain he felt. The woodsman knew the King would do the same today, and likely refuse to properly relax at least until it was time for the feast after the coronation.

Still, Robin inched a little closer, ready to help if need be, just in case. He forced a stoic face, despite how amused he found himself at the continued wit and bickering throughout the ceremony, hoping that his own quiet support might in some way help the King get through this. Though 'this' was over far faster than he'd expected. As he saw the certificate, his eyes glanced toward Llyres in the crowd with a smile, knowing they could sit together in the coronation.

Taarna
Taarna blinked. Then blinked again. This was, indeed, the shortest marriage ceremony she had ever, in her entire life, attended. However, it had been one of the most touching, as well. It had been straightforward. There had been real emotion shown...whether good or bad, it had been shown.

Now...she wondered...who had gotten the better end of the deal? She had a feeling that each thought they had outwitted the other, but looking at them...she could see the way that they worked together...the way that they would continue to work together...no matter what may come. It was indeed, then, a match truly meant to happen. Perhaps not as in the fairy-tales...but fated, nonetheless.

She supposed that time would tell.

Kazzia_llewellynn
Kazzia clapped politely as the priest made his announcement trying very hard not to giggle, she and Taarna had sworn to one another that they would get through the wedding without giggling. Though Jah knew the bride and groom had made that no easy task. She wanted to giggle quite a bit, but kept herself in check by forcing the tip of one of her blades against her skin. If she giggled she'd bounce, if she bounced she'd cut herself, if she cut herself she'd bleed, and this dress was not getting messy. That was simple logic. It had been touching to watch the two, and it amazed her to no end how their romance had worked out. Others might not agree with it, but it was theirs in a way that was uniquely Cullan and Aggnes.

Krissy stared at the various people in the wedding party with curiosity. It looked to her like everyone was having a fit of giggles, but they didn't dare show it. She decided they all must be in on some type of inside joke. She clapped her hands along with the others as the marriage certificate was signed.

Cornish jostled her a little, which made her almost lose her balance. She grabbed for his arm and caught hold of someone else instead. It was then she realized the two men were shaking hands like lost forgotten friends. She looked first at Cornish and then at...she caught her breath. Drestakill! How wonderful to see you again. It has been such a very long time, hasn't it?
Krissy blushed slightly as Drest bowed and kissed her hand. "He always was such a gallant one," she remembered.
When Cornish hoisted his cask of ale and headed toward the Abbey door, she realized she better hurry or the two men would leave her standing alone on the steps like a goof. She half walked and half ran to keep up with them and not lose them in the crowd.

He motioned for the witness to come forward and stand behind the bride and groom.

Kit stood behind Aggnes, alongside Noodle, during the ceremony. She managed to keep her face stoic during the whole chair debate, but when they got to the obedience part, well, she couldn't possibly not smirk a little with amusement on that one. She bit the inside of her cheek a little to keep from laughing audibly, though, and things went on, and soon enough they were married. Very soon, in true AWESOME fashion.

These two were certainly a pair, she thought. What started as an alliance might really be a marriage after all, she thought, watching their hands with a genuine smile.

Then Aleks asked them to come forward and sign, and when it was her turn she signed with a flourish.

Kalens
The nuptials were over rather quickly. Kalens appreciated expediency.. unfortunately the next part of the day was going to long... the coronation itself.
He bowed to his friends... the guests from Galloway and Glasgow... inwardly happy he saw them and ensured their comfort. They would have a great view of everything from the family pew.
My apologies.... but I have duties to attend to as part of the coronation. Do enjoy and I hope to be able to catch up with both of you at the festivities to follow.

Kalens then went to where he needed to be.. going over in his head the part he had to do.

Kiane
Kiane felt a gentle touch on his arm and smiled. He did not need to see who it was, and was warmed inside that she had found them. He let the young lad down as he was becoming fidgety and could not blame him, this part would indeed be boring to a young boy. Watching the boy run off, Kiane noticed Ranger standing alert between them and was tempted to scruff up behind his ears like he did his own dogs, but thought better than to bother a working dog on duty. Instead he leaned closer to Dame Zywiec, “Just in time,” he said, just as the King and Queen exchanged rings. He gave her arm a gentle squeeze in return, then went back to watching the show in silence, glad to have his friends near.

When the Bishop pronounced them wed, Kiane clapped politely with the others but without any enthusiasm. It had felt to him like a business transaction had just been made, not a union between two people in love. He shook his head, then leaned heavily on his staff and waited for the third and final act.

Cullan looked down at their hands, then back up to her. Something in her eyes was...off. Almost emotional. Weakness was not something to be shown. He smiled to her as he spoke softly. "Welcome ta th' family...wife."He looked first to her, then his niece, then to his daughters. "Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten.he smiled, looking Aggnes in the eye. "We are small and broken, but still good. Aye. Still good." He chewed his lip, thinking. Slowly he took her hand, positioning her new ring to the correct position. Then, in a stroke of chivalry, he lifted her hand to his lips, kissing the knuckle above the ring. Smiling, he whispered "Ready fer our contract?"

Quinn.m
Quinn watched with Siena, listening to the entire ceremony. It was all new to her. She had enjoyed watching Sythe walk in the parade. She was very proud of his duties and today she had her second glance of him fulfilling duties, proudly in uniform. She could not get enough of that uniform. She grinned.

She searched for him in the crowd. She had not seen him, since the ceremony started. The King and his new Queen were very posh and lovely. She was really enjoying this affair.

Zywiec
Smiling widely, Zywiec happily watches the ring exchange though their words sound flat to her ears. As each places a ring on the other's finger, she senses something in their demeanor suddenly changed. She studies their eyes closely and wonders if she detects tiny sparkles perched just behind the lashes. "Could those be tears," she wonders, "perhaps tears of joy?" She looks up into Kiane's face to see if he has noticed the exchange of the royal couple's glances. Her heart gives a solid thump as the groom raises the bride's hand to his lips for a rather revealing kiss. Again, her thoughts take an emotional turn. "Perhaps love is in the air after all," she whispers to herself. With that delightful thought, she raises her hands above her head and claps her hands together enthusiastically. She almost giggles when Ranger turns to look at her with a startled expression.

Tahsa wrote:

She was sure her face was as red as her broadcloth dress was. Tahsa was also sure she couldn't breath, just way too many people for her comfort. A long glance up at the top showed a man waving his arms frantically. Walking faster, while she pulled at the top of her bodice and waving her hand in front of her face. Alun, tis good to find you, I was so afraid we had gotten lost from each other today. She fanned at her face and began to feel a bit light headed. Do you think there is somewhere to sit? We aren't late are we? She fanned at herself a bit quicker now. Oh jah, do you have some drink? The parade was much longer and hotter than I would have thought. What she wouldn't do with a cup of rosemary tea at this time. She leaned on Alun hoping to catch her breath and perhaps not feel so faint.

Alun put his arm around her and drew her closer to him kissing her on her forehead.

You're not late darling, but you couldn't be any later, look, here they come now. then pointing across to the near distance now, there came the huge cortege of soldiers of the royal guard and the magnificent royal coach.

Alun pulled from his inner pocket hist trusty flask of rum he always carried with him. Handing it to Tahsa he said. Here my love, take a swig from this, it will settle you down. It's just the amount of people that is overwhelming you. This will all be over before you know it and we'll be back home again.
