(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Rain_
Having no duties just yet, Rain had kept quiet and mostly to herself. She watches the ceremony and smiles. In spite of what looks like a good bit of muttering, there's a sweetness about it, and definitely something to be said for a wedding that doesn't require long speeches. As soon as it is over, she slips off to prepare for the coronation.

She didn't say anything in response to that but.... oh, yes. Family. Her family. And this time they weren't going to get hurt, or used, or thrown away like something disposable. They might be an annoying bunch of troublemakers, but they were hers.

Cullan looked down at their hands, then back up to her. Something in her eyes was...off. Almost emotional. Weakness was not something to be shown. He smiled to her as he spoke softly. "Welcome ta th' family...wife."He looked first to her, then his niece, then to his daughters. "Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten.he smiled, looking Aggnes in the eye. "We are small and broken, but still good. Aye. Still good." He chewed his lip, thinking. Slowly he took her hand, positioning her new ring to the correct position. Then, in a stroke of chivalry, he lifted her hand to his lips, kissing the knuckle above the ring. Smiling, he whispered "Ready fer our contract?"

"Ready for it? This little one, yes. You should have taken more notice of religion, my dear." First time she'd called him that. First time for everything. "Who do you think wrote it?"

This was wrong, wrong, wrong. She must be ill. Over-tired, perhaps. Yes, display was part of her public duty, but she hadn't expected to want it. Her hand was still in his - or vice versa. She drew it towards her in turn, kissed the ring finger, her head bowed. It might have been homage to a superior. It wasn't.

She looked back up at him, slight amusement in her eyes. "We're going to need our hands back to sign," she pointed out. "And after that - yes. The big contract. We can do this. Together, we can do it." She disengaged, took the pen she was handed, and wrote neatly.

First time for real doing that, as well - the practice pieces had gone in the fire. She'd be doing it a lot from now on.

Amethise
The service had been simple and seemingly brief, but also moving. When the Bishop announced that the royal couple were now married, Amethise smiled and joined in the general applause.

It troubled him the frequency with which he ended up in London nowadays, yet the title he bore obliged him to make at the least a token appearance as yet another monarch was about to be crowned king over England. This time around though it wasn't simply the coronation of yet another far off southern noble, but also a wedding, which as you may well guess, didn't make attending the event any more appealing to the baron of Northwich.
All through the procession he followed the parade quietly, glancing around for anyone who he'd knew. He stopped only upon arriving at the abbey, and then only to debate with himself whether or not to enter the church and attend the marriage for he thought it was sure to be a long drawn out ceremony, the kind that appealed to both nobility and clergymen. He finally convinced himself that lady Aggnes would not stand for such tomfoolery and, alone still, walked inside taking a seat nearest to the entrance.

Following the service she smiled and hoped the couple many happy days to come and that they truly loved eachother. It was not so easy to tell and she didnt know any of them in person though she briefly met Cullan at the Winters Ball. She would make sure to greet and wish them all the best later on if she would get the chance knowing there would be so many wanting to talk to them and she was not on top of the list for them to notice.

Jannie
Jannie watched as the parade finally finished, the spectacle bringing a smile to her face, wishing she had thought to bring Balthor with her. Her son would have truly loved every moment, the dragons especially and she vowed to allow him time off from his studies if the occasion arose again.

As the couple took their place on the Abbey steps, she moved forward, pleased that she had been able to find a spot so near to where the vows where to be exchanged, though when they were exchanged she had cause to frown for a moment. Surely in her time away weddings hadn't become so practical an arrangement? She remembered her own, ill fated, wedding and shook her head smiling slightly, maybe if she and Robert hadn't worn such rose tinted glasses when they had married the wedding would have lasted a tad longer then it had.

And thinking of practicalities, she offered a silent prayer of her own that they would be able to enter the Abbey soon, her legs were starting to ache and she had a strong desire to be seated

Aleks grinned some came to sign the certificate. He could tell that some in the crowd were confused and bewildered at the brevity of the service. They were talking and whispering to one another, while some others clapped at the announcement of marriage.

That's the whole point Aleks thought to himself. Simple, quick and easy. None of these weddings that take longer the a whole harvest to finish.

maybe it would be wise to change their name to Registre Chancery to give it a more national flavour

Ashton was late in arriving and was disappointed that he had missed Bishop Aleks service.

He was though it time for the coronation. Noticing the large crowd struggling to witness the occasion, he wondered if he could make some money for the church funds by making and selling periscopes.
Noodle
Noodle stood behind Cullan during the ceremony and the royal chair conundrum. All the while, Noodle eagerly awaited the big moment. Once their promise had been declared, it was time to consolidate the bride and groom's words in writing.

After Kitsada signed her name, Noodle stepped forward as a witness to sign his;

Alun put his arm around her and drew her closer to him kissing her on her forehead.

You're not late darling, but you couldn't be any later, look, here they come now. then pointing across to the near distance now, there came the huge cortege of soldiers of the royal guard and the magnificent royal coach.

Alun pulled from his inner pocket hist trusty flask of rum he always carried with him. Handing it to Tahsa he said. Here my love, take a swig from this, it will settle you down. It's just the amount of people that is overwhelming you. This will all be over before you know it and we'll be back home again.

Her throat was parched, yes it was hotter than she thought it would be. Gladly accepting the flask she took a sip and then coughed. She had forgotten he carried the stronger stuff in it. Regaining her composure she smiled and thanked him, as she gently pulled at the top of her bodice again. Such a childish gesture but she was uncomfortable and hot.

They had found the perfect spot to watch the couple take their vows, though it seemed the Royals were tense and a bit on the argumentative side. Shrugging that off she continued to watch as there were stifles of laughs between the bridemaids and Bishop. She spied Galrador, looking as if something was amiss but perhaps that too was because he was uncomfortable. She must remember to ask him, if they should cross paths before the nights end.

The vows were short and quick, she expected to be slightly bored at the event but it was anything but. The parade and lively interaction between Princess Aggnes (then) and the white dragon had given the crowd a laugh and smile. This was one of those events she'd recall for a long time.

She watched on as the signatures were written and a sigh of relief seemed to fill some. She had never seen so many tense people in one area before. She thought back to the lavender she put in her bodice and discreetly pulled it out. Holding it in her hand she breathed in its fragrance. The tension, that was like a binding to her, seemed to melt away.

Cat watched the wedding ceremony with interest, for she liked to learn about the way other religions operated. While having various thoughts about the way the wedding was conducted, she kept them to herself. There were so many ways these days for weddings to proceed, and if this brief ceremony was what the couple preferred, that was their business. They seemed content. Feeling the sun on her back, she thanked Jah for sending good weather at least.

Cullan
Cullan cleared his throat, uncomfortable about her brief show."Aye..." he muttered, turning toward the contract. "time ta get this over." grateful for the distraction, the King signed last, smiling toward his wedding party. "thank ya all...really." there was something more to say, but he didn't know how to say it. His attention was pulled toward the crowd around him. He'd never seen so many in one place. Puffing out his chest and straightening his back, he announced loud enough to be heard. "Now it's time ta be crowned King. An' not a moment too soon...I'm starved!"

As Airya's place in the parade was among the first, she had no trouble
finding her way into the Abbey. She seated herself at the very back of the church,
and smiled and nodded at Sir Tyger, even though she didn't expect him to remember her.
Aleksander75
Aleks nodded as the King signed the certificate, his signature being the last that was needed. "The wedding is hereby ended" he announced. Turning to the couple, he said "The original copy will be kept in the AWESOME offices, but if you'd like copies can be made."

He lifted the certificate for all to see and held it up for a bit, before rolling it up and handing it to Parson Jones. Both of them then bowed to the King and Queen.
