(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Aleksander75
Aleks turned to Saira and smiled at her. He took her arm and walked into the Abbey to their pews, waiting for the royal couple to enter for the coronation.

It was quick and to the point, and after the chair discussion and the less romantic looks between them, a bit of what she expected. Official. And yet for a moment, well moments it seemed to actually be ........ sentimental.

At this point she had decided to give up trying to make sense of it. She was use to seeing emotion in a wedding, but she had to say this was one of the most emotional she had ever witnessed. Oh not all lovey-dovie but more emotional changes in moments than one saw in a tavern full of drunkards.

At least for the moment her part was complete, she would be able to soon join her husband and brother and watch the coronation, and being part of the wedding party, they should have very nice seats. She had given her letter of request to be a bride's maid to Edward and since they still needed to be at the beck and call of the bride, the letter would secure them seats near the front and center so that if Aggnes needed her she could be there in seconds.

As she checked the security of the wine flask, she realized something was wrong. Oh no! The invitation was still in her pocket. She nonchalantly glanced around her and to her relief the same servant that was to deliver her goblet to Edward was just feet from her , still holding the goblet. She stepped ever so slightly back and with very little obvious movement motioned the servant near. Once close enough, though keeping her eyes on the wedding couple whispered in a no nonsense voice to the servant. Get this to my husband and brother NOW!

The NOW must have come out a bit too loud as it seemed everyone took that as instruction to clap and cheer. Thank jah the king had just finished signing the contract so it seemed appropriate. She smiled and clapped as well while the full time chiding herself on the inside for what could have been a major faux pas. In the mean time the servant rushed to Edward and Kel shoving the letter and goblet into Edward's hand and whisking away to return to the wedding party.

As Kalens left her, she wondered who was going to be close to their family pew. Maybe Anastasia? She didn't know, but the silence from the Chancellor of Glasgow who apparently fell asleep or got very focused on the ceremony and now being alone got her a bit uncomfortable. "Only the ceremony left then I can really get to see friends and family at the feast." She hoped this time, meeting the King wasn't as weird as it was to meet the previous King.

quietly observing ... twas indeed a most interesting turn of events .... she hadna known what te expect ... bu twas certainly an eventful coronation and joining ... a hand resting on Raicheal's curls ... the lass had fallen asleep despite all the goings on ... her other lying in Beaker's ... warm and safe ... Henri well attentive at his Da's side ... a right proper little gent he was becoming ..

a smile as she observed the interactions betwixt the King and his Lady ... the undercurrent of personal attachment beneath the "business" arrangement adding a layer of intrigue ..

With quiet dignity Kaz moved to the nearest guard and smiled sweetly, who do I hand my weaponry off to? Quick now? I cannot be late, and I've enough weaponry in this gown to outfit two of you. She smiled and unlaced the ones hidden in pockets, the sheaths were designed to let go quickly, she'd gathered all but three in her arms and the other three she'd have to run elsewhere to remove. The others merely looked like she was removing things from her pockets. She looked around for Ame or James or Andy or someone. She was not leaving these weapons with a kid who looked scared of HER! Perhaps there was a weapons check room? Like there were in places for cloaks?

She let the flow of the crowd carry her towards the door, veering enough to pass close to the newly-weds. "Best of luck," she tells them, her smile wry, then drops her voice for the king's ears. "The painkilling tea I gave you does no good in the flask. Do I have to call a toast to Aggnes to give you a reason to drink it?"

The servant found Edward and Kel, still on the steps, talking with friends, and generally enjoying the good weather. It had been a nice ceremony and they were both enjoying themselves, and wondering what happened next.

What happened next was the arrival of the servant, bearing the goblet, and Jess's letter of invitation. She also brought some fairly imperative instructions from Jessa which, boiled down to their essence, said, "Get where, you're supposed to be. Now. And save me a seat."

They looked at one another, and Edward shrugged. It was Jessa's show. They were just pawns at this stage. I think we ought to go, he said.

Kel didn't argue, and they struggled through the crowd - which seemed to be getting bigger all the time - into the Abbey. After a short pause to get their bearings, they found an usher and presented the invitation letter. The poor man seemed a bit harried, as there were a more than a few others trying to get his attention, but he waved at the others to wait, and led Edward and Kel towards the front.

He was gong to direct them to seats in about the tenth row back - not bad for most purposes - but Edward shook the letter in his face, and insisted on being moved up. Eventually the man shrugged and led them further forward, to the third row, just behind the immediate family.

That should be good enough, Edward thought, Jessa should be able to find us here. He wondered whether to tip the man. Did one give tips in church? but eventually decided that you probably did. He handed over 10 pounds, and, from the way it was received, guessed that he had gone a bit light on the amount. Still, no help for it now. At least they were where they were supposed to be and all they had to do was hang onto the goblet, protect Jessa's vacant seat on the aisle from the horde of other attendees, and wait for further instruction.

She couldn't hear much from her place in the back of the crowd, but from what she could see, it had been a stately affair. The only part that had confused her was the presentation of the chairs which were, for some reason, never used.

Once the wedding portion of the proceedings ended, Raella cheered. As she did so, she took the taffy she had molded into hearts, stood upon the platform of the Sussex Dragon, and pelted them at the Westmorland Dragon.

The first couple bounced off the beast ineffectively, whereupon she augmented her strategy and began aiming them at the dragon's mouth. *DOINK* *DOINK* *DOINK*

Bishop Gawain had arrived with the rest of the parade.

Later, after having watched the Royal Wedding Ceremony with interest, he then entered the Abbey and made his way towards his position at the main altar.

Amerys
During the brief ceremony Amerys kept her eyes on the nearby crowds. Those nearby had quieted considerably, no doubt hoping to hear the royal couple's vows, but she herself could only catch a word now and then, close as she was.
The tone of voice was unmistakable though. Her expression remained a professional mask, but a very small sigh escaped as the couple bickered before the priest. "Ahh, well. Not all marriages are blessed by the Gods..." she thought resignedly. But then, she suspected this match was one of business anyway, rather than affection.
But to her surprise, the tone changed once things got underway. Vows exchanged, even a small joke or two... Her eyes cut toward the couple briefly and with surprise she saw each kiss the other's hand. The unexpectedly sweet gesture startled her, and one eyebrow shot up briefly. "Then again, the Gods do have a sense of humor..." she thought wryly.

It was over, signed and sealed, and the couple prepared to enter the Abbey.
As Amerys turned to follow she saw Kazzia's circumspect activity. Knowing her cousin Ame understood the movements and stepped close to her. "I can take those for ye, Kaz," she murmured with a smile. "There's a cloakroom just inside the doors - ye can collect them there afterward."

Finally she managed to find a suitable place to observe the wedding ceremony. It was fairly short and concise, but somehow wonderful in its simplicity. While listening to the words of the priest, then the answeres of the couple, Nissa immersed in her thoughts and recalled her memories of her own wedding. It was so many years ago... How hard they had had to fight for each other, laeving so many things - including their own families - behind to stay together... And how hard they had to fight ever since...

Looking at the newly wed Royal couple Nissa didn't wish them anything else, than the same love and persistance - through thick and thin. "May Jah give them his grace and let them help each other through their whole life." she prayed silently.

With a smile Kaz turned to Ame and handed over her weaponry, I'll just run and retrieve the last few shall I? She moved to a vacant area and removed the one from her upper thigh and two laced down her mail top. Returning, and saying a slight prayer for forgiveness for flashing Jah, she handed Ame the remaining blades, her fan dangling from her wrist. She smiled and hugged the lass awkwardly around the blades. I'll be inside. Shout have you need? You're word upon it Ame? She nodded and moved to the area for her family. She smoothed her skirt and took a seat.

Applus was glad with the offer by lord Kalens. He was very fortunate to have such a good friend.
Thank you, lord Kalens, for your generous offer. I look forward to the coronation itself. It would be my first coronation that I attend in my life. Thus far, no Scottish Monarch has had their coronation done in public in such a large event. At least, not that I am aware off.

Applus then turned to lady Melanie.
Do you know why that is, lady Melanie? That our kings and queens do not host such large events to celebrate their coronation?.

As lady Melanie said she looked forward to the feast, Applus noticed that she looked a bit uneasy.
Is everything alright, my lady? It is not me that is making you uncomfortable, is it? I would never forgive myself if that is the case.

When the wedding was setting up he had taken his place as a groomsman. The wedding seemed to finish quickly as Princess Aggnes was soon made Queen Aggnes Holifard. He had little time for congratulations as they were preparing for the next part of the coronation. He returned to his duties as a royal guard and prepared for the events to come.
