(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Galrador
Galrador had ample time to blink his eyes before the wedding ceremony had been finished. He had been to a few weddings before, but none like this. Not just the fact this was the King and Queens wedding and all the events surrounding it, but also the ceremony itself. It was quick, straight forward, almost, business like. As if the two of them were exchanging the deed to a house or something. If not for the small, emotional signs, shown by the couple, he would have surely believed Cullan had just bought a new castle.

With the lucky pair and the witnesses having signed the document, their marriage was officially sealed. It seemed it would take a man only moments to get stuck for the rest of his life. As it seemed the ceremony was officially over now, he clapped his hands for the newlywed couple. Not too long, as there was more to be done today. The wedding part was over, but the coronation ceremony inside the Abbey was about to begin.

Miki
Miki entered Westminster Abbey and did the proper genuflection before heading to the family pew. Oddly two were sitting there Miki did not recognize but upon approaching saw they had the pin. Miki also noted by manner of dress they were most likely Scot... probably friends of Kalens through embassy work.

Miki approached and nodded respectfully.
Hello, I am Mikhan Temujin, Prince Kalens' companion. Most just call me Miki.
The dress was of the deepest garnet red silk that as the light caught the tight weave, it seemed to flash purple tones. The underskirts were cream coloured as was the lace cuffs and collar. Gold braiding encircled the waist and crisscrossed up like a mock girdle. A big garnet brooch was nestled into the lace at the neck as a fine gold netting covered the hair that was ornamented with hundreds of small round polished garnet beads.

Miki smiled gently to them both and took a seat upon the pew. A small click was heard as the houppelande collapsed and allowed the skirts to settle.
I am glad I have someone to sit with. Since Ana's accident I haven't had much social life, except with Kalens.

Mother GracieBells had missed all the pomp of the parade and then the wedding went so fast she didn't get to the steps in time for it either. She giggled when she saw Archbishop Prof Sloth sneak into a side door of the Abbey. She hurried over to the same door and followed his robe to join him in sitting with the other English Bishops.

Parson Jones stood to the side at the table as the certificate was being signed and then received it from the Bishop when he handed it to him, putting it in the satchel hidden in his robes.

He smirked as he saw the crowd's reactions and some of the URAC clerics rush into place. They weren't expecting it to be this short he thought. Some people may think it's short and business-like, but that's exactly it. It's an oath between two people to be married. They're the ones who preform the marriage, not the presbyter. In fact, he or she isn't really needed. It's the promise and oath that's important.

He sighed. This is the spirit of AWESOME. Simplicity in truth. Efficiency in action. Faith in service, instead of hinkle-pinkeling around. As if a bunch of Romish nonsense, waving of hands and fluttering about made someone more married then the oaths and promises that had just been spoken.

It was good to see so many of the religious faiths here at the church. Ashton had heard about the planning that had gone on before. The event should be one that would please one and all.

Who knows the newly married couple may get some enjoyment out of it!

Applus was glad with the offer by lord Kalens. He was very fortunate to have such a good friend.
Thank you, lord Kalens, for your generous offer. I look forward to the coronation itself. It would be my first coronation that I attend in my life. Thus far, no Scottish Monarch has had their coronation done in public in such a large event. At least, not that I am aware off.

Applus then turned to lady Melanie.
Do you know why that is, lady Melanie? That our kings and queens do not host such large events to celebrate their coronation?.

As lady Melanie said she looked forward to the feast, Applus noticed that she looked a bit uneasy.
Is everything alright, my lady? It is not me that is making you uncomfortable, is it? I would never forgive myself if that is the case.

Realising that someone was speaking to her she turned to Applus.

No no everything is fine, it is just I don't like weddings very much, that's all. Shall we move to the Abbey?

Without waiting for his reply she took him by his arm and led Applus to the Abbey to where Kalens told them.

Applus godmodded with permission
Taarna
Amidst the clapping and loud speech all around, Taarna offered a hasty "congragulations" to the King and his new Queen. She didn't know if she had been heard, however, as everyone was busy milling about, heading straight into the Abbey to the places that they would sit for the Coronation.

Oh dear. The Coronation. Was she to stay with Kazzia? She had gotten separated from her when Kaz had gone looking form someone to whom she could give up her literal arsenal. Quite a surprise, that. It was good to know that should she need a hand in fending off any unwanted attention, Kazzia would have her back.

As she hurried into the Abbey, she passed Chancellor Applus, who this time was accompanied by a young woman. She stopped momentarily to curtsy, saying, "Sir Applus! It is so wonderful to see you again! My Lady, it is nice to meet you. I am Taarna McNairn, Baroness of Llanfairpwll." She turned again to Sir Applus, saying, "I hope we have a chance to speak later, but for now I must find the Llewellyn family...I believe I am to be seated with them." She smiled and excused herself.

Walking closer and closer to the front of the Abbey, she finally found the place where the Llewelly family was seated. Leaning over to Kazzia, she whispererd, "Do you mind if I sit with you? I seem to...well, not have a place. Well, I do...but our family pew is rather empty at the moment, and I'd much rather be with friends. I'm sure they're about somewhere, but I've no idea where..."

When Kaz nodded and slide over, Taarna sad down and hugged her quickly. "And don't forget...the day's not done. Regal! No giggling!"

Saira had one last job to do before they went into the Abbey; AWESOME were often referred to as "Cakists" for a very good reason. Cake was their sacrament in the same way that other churches used bread and wine. The reasons were complex, but the main point was that cake was symbolic of happiness, friendship, sharing, celebration, togetherness and Jah's bounty. And it tasted nice. So all AWESOME ceremonies traditionally ended with cake.

She spoke briefly to Parson Jones before they went indoors. "Be sure to hand out the special celebratory buns to the people who can't get into the Abbey. Don't want them feeling left out." Seeing as they were in London, all of the bakers that could be found (including Aleks himself) had been baking Chelsea buns, a roll of cake with spices, sugar and dried fruit in the roll:

Once she was happy that the buns were being handed out to anyone that wanted to have one, Saira spoke to Aleks as he took her arm and they went into the Abbey for the coronation. "Well done, dear heart. Ye didn't drop anything or fall over. Or hold the book upside-down... this time." She smirked, and continued, partly echoing the thoughts of Parson Jones.

"Ye know, I think they are genuinely fond. Not in the throes of young love, but they trust one another, I feel. Trust is a very important thing. Lasts longer than young love, also.

I have a feeling that our own wedding will be the same framework, but differently filled. Such is AWESOME. A ceremony is an empty box, to be filled to suit. The formalities are just that; formalities. Don't need to be long or flowery. Just said, in front of witnesses, and writ down. Wedding's not the important bit. It's the marriage that's important, not the wedding. "

It had been good to show the country what it meant to be AWESOME when the King married one of their number, but now the King was to be married to England, it was of course right that England's main church should officiate. She rather liked Bishop Gawain, and looked forward to his visits to Liverpool.

Aleks and Saira could now relax and enjoy the day out in London; and a couple of buns. Saira had thoughtfully put a couple in her pockets for them to eat during the coronation.

Vigfast
Vigfast saw his cousin a short distance away in the crowd, he waved and signaled that they would go to the stairs. He took Lynx by the hand and cruised through all the people after the effective ceremony had ended and the cheers subsided. At the top of the stairs he stepped up to the nearest guard and displayed their invitation.
- My young man, you know by chance were a chancellor or two is expected to sit?

Friria
A lame donkey, an inconsiderate direction giver, some very inexperienced robbers, and a twisted ankle later and Friria had had a very long, and very late night. As such she had gotten to the inn far too late to get much of anything good and so had to settle for their wost room, no more than a closet with a rather unpleasant looking bedroll on the floor. Choosing to sleep leaning against the wall, as the cleaner option, she had slept fitfully enough to have awoken far too late to make it to the church on time for the wedding, making the start to this day just a bad continuation of the day before.

She was able to find her way into the church for the coronation however, not early enough for a seat of course, but at least into the church. Regardless of how uncomfortable a trip, at the least she could see her new friend, now married, crowned as Queen. For all the difficulties of travel, that made it worth it. Now she could only hope she wasn't tossed out for a vagrant for the travel was certainly not kind on her clothing.

Krissy stared at the various people in the wedding party with curiosity. It looked to her like everyone was having a fit of giggles, but they didn't dare show it. She decided they all must be in on some type of inside joke. She clapped her hands along with the others as the marriage certificate was signed.

Cornish jostled her a little, which made her almost lose her balance. She grabbed for his arm and caught hold of someone else instead. It was then she realized the two men were shaking hands like lost forgotten friends. She looked first at Cornish and then at...she caught her breath. Drestakill! How wonderful to see you again. It has been such a very long time, hasn't it?
Krissy blushed slightly as Drest bowed and kissed her hand. "He always was such a gallant one," she remembered.
When Cornish hoisted his cask of ale and headed toward the Abbey door, she realized she better hurry or the two men would leave her standing alone on the steps like a goof. She half walked and half ran to keep up with them and not lose them in the crowd.

*In all my excitement in meeting Dres again, i had forgotten my wife!*

"Krissy.. i'm so sorry..

*I took Krissy's hand and helped guide her into the abbey*

"Come.. we will still be able to find a seat"

Elsbet
Elsbet saw the wedding and joined the cheers until she became distracted by Rae's arm swinging back and forth..
What was Red doing? Was she.. naw.. she wouldn't..

Removing her slingshot from a hidden pocket in her dress, Elsbet loaded the pocket with a few pieces of Kazzia's ginger candy and aimed.. right at.. Rae's buttocks. Someone had to keep her out of trouble

Friria
It seems the church is more packed than is reasonable and soon those in the back are either becoming crushed or motioned out for safety reasons. Sighing because she simply won't be able to see all of the action Friria makes her way outside where some bright floats catch her attention.

It isn't every day that you see someone aiming a slingshot at someone else's rear and seeing such Friria can't pass up such a good opportunity. Sidling up to the woman she leans over to whisper, "Is this a new social custom of which I am unaware?"
Breena
A very short wedding ceremony saw the royal couple married! When the Abbey doors were opened Bree made her way inside and took in the wondrous sight. The Abbey was incredible and beautifully decorated for the day. She realized she was gawking and quickly closed her mouth, grinning a bit at her folly.

The Abbey was filling up quickly and Bree looked around for a seat. Groups of people had gathered together and she stood biting her lip for a moment when she saw Tyg. Bree's face transformed into a large grin as she made her way toward him just remembering to recollect herself and curtsy before addressing him.

Tyg! It's so good to see you! If the seat by you is vacant would you mind if I sit with you? I don't really know many here and everyone seems to be with good friends or family.

Amethise
On the conclusion of the wedding, it was time to enter the Abbey.

While Amethise's burgundy velvet gown might not have been the most practical choice for walking in the parade, wearing it had avoided any unduly complicated arrangements for changing, prior to attending the coronation ceremony. All things considered, the garment had survived the day remarkably well, given the fashionable propensity for skirts that trailed on the ground. A cursory inspection of her hem showed that, despite her best efforts, it had, admittedly, collected some dust; however, a brief glance at other ladies nearby confirmed that this was by no means out of the ordinary, and she relaxed somewhat. Thankfully, she had not been spattered with ale, which would have left her in an indisputable predicament! She smoothed out her skirts and adjusted her girdle belt, studded with small pearls that matched the buttons on her gown; the sprig of lavender from the parade was still fastened at her waist and, smiling at the sight of it, she left it in place. Once inside the Abbey, she would retrieve her peerage robes and coronet, which were to be worn for the coronation and had been sent ahead, stored securely in a chest, to await her arrival.

After what seemed an age of waiting in a long line of people who were filing into the Abbey, at last she reached the great doors and went inside for the next chapter in the day's events.
