(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

She is nearly last in the procession. She steps lightly into line behind Lark and in front of Kalens. All of the pageantry and excitement of the day has her in what might be called a buoyant mood, verging on what some would frown on as inappropriate. Still, she simply smiles politely at her neighbors, saying a quiet hello, but not wanting to be too disruptive. She eyes the dove at the end of the sceptre in her hands, and her smile widens into something of a grin. It was an interesting choice to say the least.

Eddward
Eddward took his place near the front of the procession of various objects, just behind Arkrantos. As he held the Sword of Temporal Justice, he took some time to ponder its symbolism and meaning. It was a fine sword, but he found it interesting that he was chosen to carry this particular sword. The Count had some well-spoken thoughts about the relationship between the Crown and the State, and he was hopeful for what would come in this new reign for that relationship.

So much excitement and playfulness ensnared her senses as they rode and celebrated from the carriage, the wind and sights from leaning and waving, the cries of the crowd and the sense of freedom from her duties and responsibilities. Such as with most things her senses then were returned to her as they arrived and everyone disembarked and were anticipating the ceremony. Things, however, did not play so smoothly as nearly unclad men had been the first of a series of unexpected events! With a mixture of fascination, delight, and glee she watched things unfold as horses and riders charge around fighting off faux draconics! This was a planned show, she hoped, as if unplanned dragons, paper as they were, interrupted an official festivity it was sure to cause much more of an uproar. It was quite the entertainment success but quieted down soon enough and the proceedings proceeded to proceed.

With damp eye and wide smile she watched the ceremony, absorbing the look of the surrounding as the glory of the attire. When at last it was completed she felt very moved but knew all was not yet over as it was now time for the coronation. She moved up into the Abbey and found her little girl, Nesmee, there waiting with a bright smile and upraised arms. "Mama, follow," she said in a very grown up way and took her mother's hands to draw her to the proper seats. Walter and William were shockingly well behaved, but their expressions seemed to imply the fear of the heavens had been put into them by Redd not too long ago. Her husband stood and embraced her as she approached and brought her to the seat with them.

"I'm not sure if you saw us," he winked, "But we were in that crowd as you went by! Everything has been so busy we were only able to just now catch up to you."

She giggled lightly and held his hand as they, as a family, all watched what was to come.

"I have no doubt we'll find a seat. Although, just how close do you want to be to the actual ceremony? The seats in front have probably been reserved," Drestakil said as he held open the doors for the two.

As he did so, he looked at the people streaming into the Abbey. He wondered, as he followed Cornish and Kristin, if any of his own family would be present. Surely they had received invitations. He felt odd not being with them, or escorting someone. But, why should that be? He and Sara Jane had attended one coronation that he could remember. Was it King Faheud's coronation...or Darien's? Ah, yes, the late King Darien. He remembered carrying one of the ceremonial swords to present.

He shook the cobwebs away and followed Cornish.

Watching from the crowds as the parade and processions went by he cheered, waving one arm high in the air as his daughter giggled with glee as she watched all that happened from his shoulders. A few times she would hide her face in shyness if she got the specific attention of one of the entertainers but she burst forth and almost jumped from her perch as she recognized her mother going by, leaning out and waving back to the crowd.

The twins would have enjoyed this sight also had they seen it, but they were too busy reverse-pickpocketing not quite fresh fruit into people's pockets. One elderly gentleman felt a gentle squish on his finger and pulled out a soggy plum impaled upon his digit and the boys would have been caught cold from their peals of laughter had it not been masked by all that was going on around them. Redd spotted them about to place a particularly rotten apple in a young woman's handbag and ushered them back. Some words were barked quietly at them along the lines of ending up in the Tower Of London. Of course this was an exaggeration but it kept them quiet until the ceremony.

They watched quietly from their seats and he saw his wife but wasn't able to reach her until after and caught her coming in for the coronation. Sending the eager daughter forward she escorted her mother back to the family. Making a few quick remarks he took her hand and settled in for the rest.

After riding the rest of the parade with Revan and the rest of the Devon contingent, Zanlarrr had dismounted and passed the reigns to one of the servants standing nearby. He moved inside and stood to one side at the back as his wife and his friends found seats.

When the call came for the coronation part of the day to begin, Zan gathered up the sword he had been asked to bear to the king, and took his place. He stood there holding the Sword of State in both of his hands, waiting for his role in the ceremony.

Llyres.
After the parade, the groomsmen and lovely bridesmaids had gathered around the Royal Couple. Llyres along with her friends watched the marriage ceremony speed by with some surprise and yet it was not a bad sort of surprise especially since the boys also had joined her side after the parade. Robin and Llyres' adopted Adam, now taller than her, was not the issue, but the squirming mass of 4 year old Alex was another matter. "Da! I want to stand with Da!" the toddler loudly informed her when he saw Robin among the wedding party.
"Shhh, Alex, you don't want to interrupt," she tried to reason with him. Fortunately Adam swung his brother up onto his broad shoulders. "Watch from up here, you ruffian!" he'd laughed. "I am naw-a muffin!" Alex protested but settled on his brother's to watch.
After the ceremony, the crowds moved inside. Llyres kept her focus Robin, intent that the family not lose him in the press to enter. Not without a bit of sailing through the currents, the Ballard family finally united. She grasped his hand and smiled lovingly at her husband, "You looked handsome standing up there. But what were the King and Queen discussing at the start? And why the flurry with chairs appearing and disappearing? " Following Robin, the family found seats with their friends, while Robin briefly shed light on the earlier activity.

Kazzia slid to one side to allow Taarna to sit with her. Then turned slightly to allow the girl out, she saw Jolie what a gentleman and some young ones and waved slightly before turning back to the front. Her nerves would not dare allow her to perform, no matter how she loved music. This many people would suck the sound right out of her.

Edwardus
Edwardus had been practically pulled out of the house they had been staying in by an excited Miss Whittaker. She had hurried him along the way.

"Come, Ed! If we delay any longer, we shallst miss the parade!" She had said while pulling him along.

Edwardus hurried his steps to match hers. They had weaved through the crowd like playful children. It would be a 2.4 mile walk to Westminster Abbey. They could have taken a boat but decided not to, not only due to the inflated price of 6 pence one way, but also so that they could join the parade. They had been told that there would be dragons from all four counties present at the parade. Not knowing the streets of London well, they had decided to follow the crowd.

They had arrived at the parade grounds just as the dragons started their journey towards Westminster Abbey. They followed from behind knowing that it would be their best shot of arriving on time for the wedding. It was a long and tiring walk.

"How are you faring, Miss Whittaker? I trust that you are fine with the long walk," he asked worried that she was getting tired from the walk. Truth be told, he was in fact himself tired from the walk and the earlier running they had done. Not to mention all the apologies he had to shout out along the way as they bumped into various people.

When the procession had stopped, they weaved through the crowds trying to get to the front. The streets were packed with people as they noticed that they had stopped in front of a huge building.

"Do you think we have arrived at Westminster, Miss Whittaker? It seems like a wedding is taking place right on the steps."

Squeezing his wife's hand and leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek, the tall woodsman reached out to ruffle the hair of both of his sons. "I'm glad we could all be together for this. And the issue about the chairs and the slight bickering to start was about Aggnes worrying about Cullan having stood on his chariot through the whole parade, what with his leg, and the King's sheer stubborn pride insisting on decorum and dignity." A chuckle escaped his lips at the memory, having been very amused at the argument.

He paused a moment as they headed into the cathedral, looking around the crowd. "Oh, love, before we sit, we need to find someone. I saw Anne in the crowd. I was thinking we should invite her to sit with us. I saw the Hungarian ambassador too, and she's commented to me a few times that she'd like to meet you." Still, Robin wasn't certain they'd be able to find anyone else in this crowd, but he looked to Llyres for her thoughts.

" I am fairing just fine Ed. " Angel said smiling at her friend. Angel nodded her head. She had not mind the brisk walk and enjoyed seeing all the wonderful dragons at the parade. She had followed her elder half brother Alfred Cottsfield as he told a wonderful tale of St. George and his defeating the dragon dragging Edwardus by his hand the whole time. She felt badly for running into people as she and Edwardus made their way through the large crowd gathering for the wedding. Edwardus and she had been able to view the wedding from a distance and were now being asked to check in any weapons they had on them. After showing the guards that they didn't have any weapons on them they were permitted to enter the abbey. She looked around for her elder half brother and spotted him.

" There he is Ed!" she said waving to her elder half brother. They quickly made their way over to where Alfred was sitting and sat down.

Edwardus Godmodded with permission!

Alfred rose from the seat when he saw his sister and her dear friend. He smiled at the two.

"Angel! Edwardus! How good to see you! I hope you don't mind the seats... I really was interested in taking in the whole ceremony. Perhaps I could write a tale about another coronation in a far off land..." Alfred said with a smile. He shook Edwardus' hand and hugged his sister.

"Did you both enjoy the parade?"

She thought that the parade, once started, had gone by rather fast, yet it was nothing compared to the speed of the wedding. Rev smirked at Llyres and Robin's boys and their interactions with each other. She wished the same for her stepdaughter and her own children, for them to be close with each other.

Revan found a seat amongst her friends as she watched her husband prepare to take part in the ceremony ahead.

The ceremony had been speedy, efficient, and ended on a surprisingly sweet and tender note. For a couple who always seemed to be at each other’s throats, Daisy was rather impressed there appeared to be an inkling of fondness between the two. Clearly, Aggnes amused her father and that was really all that should matter. Maybe she’d judged her stepmother too harshly and a peace offering was in order.

The instant Daisy had stepped foot in the Abbey, the metaphorical little devil on her shoulder had started hopping up and down with gleeful abandon. What was it about sacred spaces that made her want to defile them? At the moment her demon was cajoling her to go tease the poor guardsman tasked with handling the weaponry. Her little angel must have taken the day off because Daisy felt no resistance to the idea. She popped her head inside the cloakroom and purred, “Is this where we get patted down for dangerous objects… ?” A short time later she emerged looking rather satisfied with herself and only slightly flushed and out of breath as she took a seat next to her sister in the front row.

Edwardus shook hands with Alfred and smiled. "T'was kind of you to save us a seat. Will the Lady Eira be joining us?" He had indeed not been listening to a word that had been said at the breakfast table at the manor they had been staying in. Thus he had no idea what was going on.

" You should definitely weave up a tale. You have been gifted with such great skills," he said smiling at Alfred. Alfred was indeed a great story teller. He had enjoyed the tales he had told them in Penrith. Alfred had a magnificent way of attracting the attention of the people to listen to his tales.
