(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Melodia.pia.nissa

When the wedding ceremony finished, the crowd started to flow in the Abbey. Not having any weapons Nissa focused directly to the entrance, trying to remain on feet in the scrumble.

Suddenly she caught a glimps of Lord Robin. He stood next to a beautiful lady, together with a reasonably tall, young man and a four-year-old form child - his family, for sure. Nissa tried to get closer to them, hoping she would be able to greet the Vice Chancellor and his family, but she was drifted away by the crowd - directry into the church. As she reached the gate of the cathedral, the Abbey's immense interior was revealed to her...

Amethise
Amethise's uppermost wish, after entering the Abbey, was to find a seat and spend a few moments in quiet contemplation, before the official ceremony got under way. It had already been a long day, what with all the walking along the parade route, the excitement of the events during the parade itself, then standing outside to watch the royal nuptials, and she was obliged to admit (although only to herself, of course!) that she felt somewhat fatigued. She had noticed a buzz of activity towards the rear of the building, and surmised that the formal procession would soon begin. She nodded and smiled to a few people she recognised as she made her way into a pew and settled herself there, arranging her skirts carefully, then folding her hands in her lap. As always, she savoured the atmosphere of stillness and peace that seemed to pervade the very stones of this ancient building; smiling contentedly, she bowed her head in silent prayer.

Aleks saw Friria enter into the crowd. He waved to her, hoping that she had seen them. "Saira" he said, turning to her, "is it alright if Friria sits with us?"

"Course! Why on earth would I say no? She should sit with friendly faces at such a big do... And I promised Aggnes there'd be no party games this time. If I have someone to explain everything to it might keep me out of mischief. "

She took her place in the line between Rain and Cordelia, and accepted the Sceptre of the Cross. Her thin hands tightened around it as she felt the weight, and she shifted them, looking instinctively for the weapon balance.

She mouthed the words she had to say silently to make sure she had them right, and wondered again why folk worried about her walking up to the king with knives, and then they handed her a nice heavy club instead.

Rain gave her a smile, and she flashed a crooked grin back. "Well, at least we get a good, up close view of the coronation."

Gawain59
Bishop Gawain had reached the main altar, and removing his cloak, he stowed it behind the altar, picked up his crozier that he had put there in readiness, and holding it, he then went to the altar steps to take up his position there.

He then looked towards to the back of the Abbey, and awaited for the procession to begin.

Saraxb
Sara had immensely enjoyed participating in the parade, in usual style Sussex had thrown themselves into the competition and their dragon had several interesting additions. After apparently losing their dragon to lovesickness (what did Westmoreland have to attract all these Sussexians up there?), Sara had settled down to watch the wedding ceremony. Short and sweet, just the way she liked them. Despite never having met the bride and not having seen Cullen since before her enforced retreat, Sara couldn't help but adore a good wedding. Though it seemed very simple compared to some she had been a guest at, it was still obvious that much thought and preparation had gone into the day.

Moving with the crowd, Sara edged forward in order to ensure she had a good view of the actual coronation. I mean it was not every day she got to watch someone be crowned king!

At the end of the wedding ceremony, Anne and Maewenn made their way to the abbey as best they could. There was such a crowd that they didn't know where the flow of people would take them.

They were about to take a seat at the back when Anne caught a glimpse of the very man she'd been looking for. Robin was there with his wife. The Breton Chambellan didn't want to make herself too noticeable, so she stood on tiptoe and waved at him while mouthing silently :

Hello Robin, we're here!!

Then she took Maewenn's hand and whispered:

Suis-moi comme mon ombre, je ne veux pas te perdre dans la foule!*

*Stick to me like my shadow, I don't want to lose you in this crowd!

Irish quickly turned to Father Kiane and the rest of her group and told them to follow her, Mala, Cery,Phoenix, Liam, Michael, Bella ,Katie and Zy come along we had best move inside or we will miss the coronation.
Father Kiane should you not be with the rest of the Bishops? Hurry now. Michael Liam see if you can find a pew that will hold us all as close to the front as is possible.

Irish was now beginning to wonder why she left her hounds ,who were always at her side at home. with no Dragon Guards she missed the feeling of security that her hounds provided.

Moving us along so as to not miss Coronation. Continued from Here godmod Alun, okay as long as I didnt throw him in water or make him wear buckets for shoes

The assembly for the Coronation began to walk into the Abbey. Holding to Alun's arm they walked in to find a seat. Holding no weapons, made it quicker for them. She was naive in a way, thinking who would carry a weapon to a wedding or a coronation? Everyone has enemies though was the second thought. Finding a pew was a bit of a ordeal, she did not have a family one, that she knew of. Matters not, she mumbled, she found most places of worship stuffy and crowded which in turn set her uneasy.

They had sat down and she relaxed a bit more. She held Alun's arm as they sat there, a smile on her face. The Abbey was cooler and she felt the heat fade away from her skin. She only hoped that this ceremony was as short as the wedding. She pulled the lavender sprig out again and looked at it. She hoped for a serene, peaceful yet graceful reign for the King. She should have brought more of them with her she thought.

She saw a few people she knew and resisted the urge to wave, so she smiled at them.

Following Raella into the Abbey, Elsbet stopped first at the cloakroom to drop off her slingshot and a few of Kazzia's Kandies . Not that she'd dare to use the slingshot to hurt anyone but sometimes.. it sure was tempting to send a missile upside a grumpy faced fella. Once they entered the Abby, the search was on.

"Ohh is that.. no.. that's umm.. wait.. there she is."

Whispering to Red that she had finally spotted their mutual friend, Elsbet hurried over and squished in next to Alex.. most elegantly, of course!

" Hallo, Alex. I left Baby with Gus and Paulie.. hope she'll be all right. Hate having to cut her up... Well.. don't folks look fancy today hmm?"

Friria
Wait, did I see a waving Bishop arm? Thinks Friria, I think I might well have. Ohhh maybe I can actually see the fun! Giving the young woman with the sling shot a grin and a, "Good shot!" She heads back inside letting the guards know that yes a seat is saved for her, and hoping she isn't fibbing! Moving quickly up the aisle she finds the seat where Aleks and Corsaira are already seated. "I thought I saw your arm moving there Bishop. Might I sit with you two? I tried to make the wedding but it seems it was not meant to be. How did that go?" All of this said in a rush of breath far too fast to answer any one question after asked but rather like a big cake must be partitioned before consumption. The verbal flood also accompanied by the petite woman nearly bouncing on her feet.
Aqueron
The journey had been long, the ride had been...well uncomfortable is probably the best word for riding a horse from Linlithgow to London but seeing the looks on the faces of all the Englishmen and women they passed had all the more made up for it. Most of the Queensguard were just as irritated or even worse agitated, it did not sit well with most whether from the Highlands or the Low to be so far south into the land of sassenachs. Aqueron smirked and held back from reminding them that this deep in English territory, they were the sassenachs here.

When the finally reached the city proper crowds started to become thicker and it seemed that the streets were filled with all of England today. “Must hae come tae the right place aye?” Though the crowds were thick as they pressed inwards but a company of armed guards and a regal carriage parted the throngs of people quite easily and was not long before they arrived at the whitewashed Tower of London. The streaming banners carried by the Queensguard and the purple sashes around their chests were more than sufficient to announce who had arrived, but Aqueron refrained from having her announced as they were here in good faith to show respect and share honor with the English king. That, and it was his coronation day.

Riding alongside the carriage Aqueron opened the door and dismounted his horse, he held out his hand and bowed his head for his wife, his queen. “Your Grace, we have arrived.”

Pulling back the curtain that covered the little window that had been her only view for the past several days Sheridan was unsure what to think. The whole trip had been a little surreal until now, until they reached London and were pressed by crowds of people and it fully sunk in that she was indeed in England. The idea to visit had been given to her by her cousin and heir, Evan T. Campbell, Duke of Argyll and Galloway, it was a gesture of goodwill that was ever his style. Sheridan was grateful for his help and advice, a friend she would never take for granted.

She heard little in the way of talk from outside the carriage since they departed that morning, the guards likely with little to say as they entered the heart of England, but now she recognized her husband’s voice. His accent thick but his speech clear, and she could make out his jokes with the guards. It was a good idea to keep them in high spirits and a good mood while they were guests here.

Her hands smoothed out the fabric of her dress as they neared the Tower, most of the dress was made for her but she was proud to have embroidered it herself. A smile spread on her lips as she ran her fingers along the curving vines and blooming flowers, thread of bright gold and pure white created a subtle yet detailed display.

When the voices and cheers grew louder the carriage came to a halt, glancing out the window she could see that it was time to depart her rolling prison. On the seat opposite her was a small wooden box, simple but well made, Sheridan opened it and removed from the cushioned velvet a small crown of gold flowers and placed it on her head, tucking the arms into her hair. Then she brushed her hair to the side and lifted a necklace of two golden chains with a filigree pendant set with small fiery red rubies, and clasped it around her neck. Fine enough for a queen, not too fine for a visiting queen, she thought.

As her husband opened the door she stepped out onto the cobblestones and reached up to kiss his cheek then tucked her arm into his. “Thank you my king, shall we?”

With his arm wrapped around his wife's Aqueron lead them up the steps to the main door of the Abbey where he then surrendered his sword before they proceeded inside. He looked around the room for any familiar faces, he had been in England many years ago so it was unlikely that he might remember those faces but recently many friends of his from Ireland had settled down in England. Kennedys and MacKenzies if I recall, he thought on all the names he could and resolved to introduce them to the Queen should he meet them. For now though he only sought a place for them amongst so many, as he suspected the coronation ceremony would begin soon.

From the corner of his eye he thought he caught a glimpse of Applus of Glasgow, if it was indeed him he would try and speak to him before they left. It was rare indeed to see fellow Scots so far south. Taking one usher by the arm Aqueron whispered, "See tae it tha Queen dinnae strain her eyes for the ceremony." He nodded and hurried off but soon beckoned him and Sheridan forwards and they were seated in a pew not too far from the front. They sat and waited for the ceremony to begin.

Tyg! It's so good to see you! If the seat by you is vacant would you mind if I sit with you? I don't really know many here and everyone seems to be with good friends or family.

Having spent half of the surprisingly short wedding ceremony immersed in admiration for the lavish decorations that laced the abbey's interior and the other half taking notice of all the added... gravitas some of the nobler people of the realm gained, grace to rather peaceful reign under the late king.
His assessment of England's lords and ladies was suddenly interrupted by a strangely familiar voice. Turning towards its source, he stood up with a smile and bowed politely "Why of course m'lady Breena, how could one refuse such wonderful company ?" he replied, his smile turning into a mischievous grin
