(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Breena
Bree smirked at Tyg, arranged her skirts and took a seat beside him, continuing to take in all the sites of the Abbey and the people entering.

I don't think I've ever been in such a large building or seen so many people gathered together at once. Of course, this is the first Coronation I've ever attended. I'm sure your experience with these stately affairs far outstrips mine. Are they always like this?

Bree quirked an eyebrow at Tyg, a playful smile playing about her lips.

"You look beautiful," he told her, offering her his arm.

"Thank you," Julianna said, smiling at his compliment.

Quote:

They stepped into the cavernous abbey, its great dome echoing the sounds of hundreds of voices and looked for a seat. Most were already taken and only here and there could he see occasional spaces among the pews. He looked to Julianna for her preference.

Julianna pointed to a pew near to them that had some space. She honestly didn't have a preference; she just wanted to be seated. Looking around the huge space, she felt a little intimidated by the architecture, and instinctively reached for Ruith's hand. She turned her attention to the front, watching as the principles took their places. Sitting quietly, she waited for the ceremony to begin.

"Yes, the wedding went very well" Aleks said to the young woman. He patted the seat next to them. "Please take a seat. I think the ceremony will begin soon."

Eumelia
As the wedding finished, Eumelia went to the cloakroom first to get rid of the thick flagpole and her other belongings. Then she adjusted her haircut and her dress and entered the Abbey. It took some time to find her fellow Templars in the crowd, but finally she managed to join them again, taking her seat amongst them.

He pondered for a moment over an adequate answer to her question before her words reached his mind in the earnest. Raising an eyebrow, meant to underline the least serious of serious poses "Experience, eh ? Is that an elegant way of saying I'm getting old or something ?" the grin still lingering upon his face "As for your question, well it depends what you mean by it, if you're asking whether nobles always dress overly posh and maintain a knack for complicated snobbish titles, then yes, little will change by the time you'll attend your second coronation. Well except for the shoes, purses and hats, but I'm certain you know far more about those than I ever will.." he paused for a moment as if rummaging through his mind for a long forgotten thought "But where are my manners" he added smiling softly "You look absolutely ravishing m'lady. I am most honoured to be your first.. err coronation companion ?"

Friria
Friria flashes the Bishop a grin and fairly hops onto the seat. In the process she tries to smarten up her clothing a bit, and she brought her best set too! Which really isn't saying much sadly. "Thank you! Oh this is exciting!"
Breena
Bree almost laughed right out loud at Tyg's observations. It was always a pleasure to be in his company.

Old?! I would never ever say...nay dream...of suggesting so...

While Tyg was ruminating over posh dress, purses and shoes Bree made a show of straightening her skirts and brushing them down, the whole time with a smirk on her face.

Well, Lord Northwich, you make a massive assumption that I know of shoes and hats, but truly, someone has to have knowledge of such things!

Bree could barely contain her laughter when Tyg began complimenting her and she let it come forth.

Thank you, Sir, you look quite ravishing yourself..for a gent, that is. And it is my honor to be allowed into your presence for such a grand event.

" We looking forward to hearing thy newest story brother." Angel said excitedly but in a hushed tone. She knew her brother was an expert story teller and took delight in the wonderful tales his imagination came up with. She remember being entranced by the tale he had shared with Edwardus and her at The Blue Hat Tavern in Penrith. The tale was about a tracker and a wicked curse. She wondered if he would be telling the tale again at the feast. Turning quietly to her elder brother she asked, " What tales will ye be telling at the feast brother or is that meant to be kept a secret?" Angel asked. She smoothed her dress lightly with her finger tips.

Applus was glad that lady Melanie took his arm as they went into the Abbey. It felt comforting to know that a fellow Scot was nearby. As they entered the Abbey, lady Taarna approached them.
My lady, it indeed quite wonderful to see you again. I hope that you are well. This is lady Melanie Bolton, Chancellor of Galloway. I hope to find you after the coronation, so we can talk proper.
As lady McNairn excused herself, Applus turned to Melanie.
I danced with her during the International Winter Ball at the Royal Embassy last year. She is a very kind and graceful lady.

Lady Melanie guided them towards the Tudor family pew and it was indeed in a very good position. As they waited for the ceremony to begin, Applus noticed that Queen Sheridan and her husband also arrived. Applus whispered to lady Melanie,
My lady, it would seem Queen Sheridan and her husband have also come to attend the wedding. I am glad that they made it. I think it will send a strong message to our English friends, as both representatives from Galloway and Glasgow and the Queen have come to attend and pay their respects to the new English King. A good way to mutual friendship, wouldn't you say?

He grinned at his sister as she asked about the content of his stories. He would normally tell folks to wait and find out and keep everything a mystery. Seeing he was in a jovial mood, however, he responded differently. "One of the stories I will tell will be the Fairy's Curse, yes.... And there's a chance that doesn't get told. The other story is a surprise, as I have only let a few in on the name. I do hope it is as special as the others you have heard." Alfred said, smiling, "After all, I won't be able to tell until much later after everything dies down. No doubt you, Edwardus and Eira will be looking for me after the fact for an immediate opinion..."

The storyteller could only chuckle as he glanced between the two of them.

Angel nodded her head to her brother to show that indeed all three of them would be looking forward to giving their opinions of his newest tale.

Amerys
Near the side chapel in which the King and Queen were preparing, Amerys waited. She had a good view of the guests who continued to enter the Abbey and watched as they greeted one another and found their seats. An unconscious shrug of her shoulders adjusted the sword across her back more comfortably and as she shifted the long hem of her Royal Guards' formal uniform tunic brushed her boot tops. Experienced she may be, and attentive, but fidgeting was a habit she'd never quite been able to break. Patience had never been her strong suit and she sighed inwardly at the continuing long train of people in the aisles.

Suddenly her attention was riveted on one couple. Amerys wasn't immediately certain of the woman's identity, but she recognized her escort well enough. It had been years ago in Ireland, but there was no mistake. "General Aqueron Campbell..." She thought silently. Her eyes shifted back to the Lady, taking in the details of her richly embroidered garb and the crown she wore. "That then, will be Queen Sheridan, nay doubt." She pondered for a moment whether to greet them, but they were already moving to their seats. "Likely he'd not remember me," she thought. His business had been with her Clan Chief, Padraig. She'd only been one of many troops at the time.
Still, a greeting seemed, at least, the polite thing to do, but with the coronation about to begin she'd not leave her post. "Per'aps there'll be a moment t' speak later..."
And she settled in to wait once again.

He slips inside after avoiding the wedding and stands near the wall at the back of the abbey. The shadows conceal the burn scars covering much his left side, and his clothes are neat and clean, carefully mended.

'So this king thinks he can rule a dragon?' he mutters, a quick look round spotting an easily accessed exit in case the whole thing gets too churchy. 'Does he know she gets hot enough to burn iron with a glare?'
Caitilin
The Duchess of Westmorland sat quietly through the marriage ceremony. It was a royal wedding and she'd been to several now. Cait was happy for King Cullan and the now Queen Aggnes. She knew how it felt to have someone in her own life who respected and loved her with all of his heart. Caitilin returned that love and respect with her heart and soul. She missed Baldar's presence beside her and hoped he was being cared for by the monks. Sometimes we all need time to retreat and reflect.

Caitilin returned her attention to the ceremonies.

Jannie joined the rest of the crowd, filling up the stairs and into the Abbey. She had no weapons to check in, having left hers in the carriage and so was able to slip past those queuing and entered directly into the Abbey, quickly finding a seat at the back.

She looked around, there were so many familiar faces milling around, taking their seats, or heading further into the Abbey to take up positions of importance in the ceremony, it was nice to actually see so many of her old friends around, and she made a silent vow to try and seek out some at the reception afterwards.
