(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Tahsa
They stood as the procession began to lead into the grand Abbey. She had to remember to stop fidgeting with her bodice, so she kept her hand in Aluns and her left hand in a hidden pocket she had made in her gown. The green rock felt cool to her touch as she passed it through her hand, occasionally it would hit the newly acquired ring that sat on her finger.

She was able to look around better in the sea of heads and shoulders to spot a few folks she knew. Breena, who she hadn't seen in a long while was there talking to a fine looking gentleman. She smiled at them, assuming that they were a couple. A little further up was Galrador and Amethise. Oooooo goodness, she said softly. Would that be a new start for them as well? Nothing like a wedding to make everyone appear to be couples she had thought. Letting go of Alun's hand, she gave a small wave to Galrador and Amethise.

Cullan
Cullan huffed again, staying silent. His mind was full of the Scots arrival. Why were they here? Would we be able to compensate? And just how did it work up there? Five queens...Something he'd never heard of when he was a boy.

He also had a wife and a coronation to attend to. Turning his attention back to what was happening, he heard her last whisper. She sounded almost...kind. Something was wrong. Indigestion, maybe...This was a big day for the both of them. The tea was helping his. He whispered a soft 'thank you' to her, and squeezed her hand. He didn't know what else to do, her emotion was something he didn't understand.

As they walked down the aisle, he wondered how long of his life he'd have to spend at the ceremony. The wedding was delightfully short, but he couldn't guarantee the coronation would. If it was up to him, he'd get a crown between the first round and the second - borne by one of the Dragon Guards.

Finally to the throne...At least he could sit now.

King_aqueron
After taking their seats both Aqueron and Sheridan clasped their hands together, he raised her hand to his lips and kissed it affectionately. It was rare the two of them could get a moment alone, and though they were inside a magnificent abbey with dozens if not hundreds of guests, there was no one demanding their time, and they cherished the small comfort of that. Of course watching the pageantry of the ceremony was something to behold.

A sword, a sceptre, a golden eagle, followed by a host of attendants some of which Aqueron thought he recognized. Three in particular that he would try and speak to once the opportunity presented itself, but it was Rowan that he could claim more than a simple acquaintance. A friend from many years ago, so many that it seemed like a lifetime, in fact it was a very different life than either of them had now. Sheridan watched the faces of those who carried the symbols and jewels of the English monarch, destined for the head of King Cullan just as her own bore a similar crown. One of fine gold but that weighed heavier with responsibility than the precious stones set into it. Once the King and his wife entered she stood with the others but had to pluck at Aqueron's arm to get him to stand.

"Sorry dear...lost in thought", he whispered.

It was a goal from the start, for Aqueron, to study the face of this man Cullan who would be king the largest and arguably the most prosperous kingdom aside from France. Though in terms of a unified kingdom none could compete with England. It was of this Aqueron was most jealous, and he sighed thinking of what a task it would be to accomplish this but Sheridan squeezed his hand and he smiled at her. Turning his mind now to the coronation they both watched as the king approached his throne.

Please forgive me, I am posting for us both as the forum and nodes are not being kind to us.

Patan
Having ridden to the Abbey, Patan had dismounted and taken her place to watch the wedding. It was definitely an unusual ceremony, especially the fighting off a dragon part, and there'd seemed to be a bit of a...er..discussion between the happy couple. At least, she presumed they were a happy couple, since they kissed each other's hands quite charmingly at the end.

Then everyone filed inside the Abbey and found their places - either a seat or a few of them to the back to fulfill their duties. Patan made her way through the crowd, searching for the others...she'd be happy to sit with either the Devon Navy or the Templars, whichever she came across first, but hoped they might be grouped together, as they had ridden. Spotting a few of the Templars, she joined them, feeling thankful both to sit down and to be able to get a good view of where the King would be crowned.

Sythe
As they entered the Abbey, Sythe had taken his position while the King prepared his procession. He noticed Chancellor Applus on his way in, giving him a nod as he continued his escort, and didn't mind that there were foreign guests that he knew. When he took his place near the aisle he noticed some others he didn't recognize, reminding himself to keep alert but believing that all would be well. He remained at attention as a Royal Guard, but couldn't help enjoying himself as the coronation continued.

Amerys
As the King and Queen began to move up the aisle Amerys quietly left them and took position to one side of the great church. There'd be more of the Royal Guard and plenty of KotR and others nearer to their Majesties.
Here though, she could watch the remainder of the procession as well as having a view of the observers. And as her eyes scanned the crowded cathedral she settled on one bench in particular - a bevy of troublemakers in the making, and well known to her. But rather than a stern glare a tiny smirk appeared as she watched Pagan, Rae and Els, a part of her wishing she could join in their shenanigans.

But not today.
Her attention turned back to the procession and she scanned the line still waiting, spotting Rowan further back. She was so proud of him - of his bearing, his attention to duty, of the respect he showed to the throne.
The olive branch he would present was symbolic, a hope of peace for the nation. But peace required strength, too, and, all else aside, Amerys thought it was not inappropriate for a military leader to carry the object - especially one who, she knew, preferred to have peace.

Jamesthemad
As the Procession had begun to step off, our large neighbor moved into the main part of the Abbey, walking up the main aisle until he reached the Great Altar. Here, he turned left and stopped just before the columns at that side. Turning to face toward the pews, James settled in, still at rigid attention, to await the Procession. His only movement after that was to send a formal nod of greeting toward the Scots Royals, when he thought either might be looking in his direction.

Octavia.moonlit
Octavia had been working hard in her new medicine lab when she had received an invitation to the Coronation of the new King, Cullan. She hastily finished her work and quickly made her way to her home to prepare for the ceremony.
On her way she passed her cows that were busy grazing, they looked up at her curiously, perhaps wondering why she was in such a hurry.
After making herself ready she began her journey to the coronation. Once she arrived she took a quick look around at the buzzing scene in front of her before entering. Once inside she noticed one or two familiar faces. After taking a seat she recalled meeting the King vaguely while he was visiting Holywell and wondered if he would recognize her in the sea of loyal subjects.

Raella
She never had a moment to welcome Pagan to their bench, for as soon as her friend arrived, Alex, way too casually, introduced them to the man seated beside her.

What?? Raella whispered harshly as she stared, shocked, at Alex and her new husband. It was right that instant that Pagan started boozing it up in the Abbey and the procession passed by them down the aisle. They were going to get kicked out of here for sure. She straightened in her seat long enough to wait until the procession had passed, then leaned forward again and watched, open-mouthed in disbelief, as Alex and Zeke cuddled like newlyweds on the bench. Nay, not like newlyweds, as newlyweds.

Raella dared not press them further as the coronation was about to commence, but she widened her eyes and set her lips in a tight line, giving Alex a look that said, "You better explain yourself later. In -full- detail."

It didn't matter how long the coronation ceremony was to be now. To Raella, it would feel like ages, regardless. She held an open palm out to Pagan and pleaded with her eyes for a sip out of that flask.

Edwardus
Edwardus sat quietly as music filled the air, indicating the start of the coronation procession. The Abbey then filled with a familiar voice singing sweetly. He looked around to see Lady Taarna singing. He had not known that she could sing. A voice from beside him broke his concentration. It was not loud but very soft and hushed.

"I know her. She is a delightful lady."

Edwardus turned towards Miss Whittaker and nodded. He replied to her in the same hushed voice as not to bother the other guest.

"Yea. She is a very nice lady and her husband-to-be too is a nice man."

He turned back his attention to the procession. He did not quite understand it as it was foreign to him. He had never been to a coronation before. He watched as a line of people walked along the aisle to the front each carrying an item in their hands. He saw the King and the Queen. He recognized them as He had travelled in an entourage with the Queen, before she became queen, and he had met the King in the taverns before he became King.

She glanced over at Rae as the woman whispered, and gave her a oh so charming and sweet smile before turning to look at the procession. She gave them her full attention and was tempted to toss something at Cullan but thought better of it, that'd get them kicked out for sure at the very least, she did however raise her hand just slightly to give Kalens a bit of a wave. She was pleased to see that he was part of the happenings for sure.

She got comfortable again as it was time to actually pay attention and try hard not to turn it into a majorly crazy party, but just a slight one. She couldn't help but wonder if Raes expression could constitute a scowl, and if so it was reason enough to drink. She lowered her head slightly, and raised her hand to her mouth to hide the small sip she took before handing the flask down the line to the ladies. Well now to focus on what was happening in the front.

She had a feeling there would be a great deal many questions later, and she glanced at Zeke giving him a silent i'm sorry look.
