Angel watched quietly as each magnificient sword was brought forth. She had never been to a coronation before and was grateful Lady Eira had invited her to London for the event.

Zanlarrr
Once it was Zanlarrr's turn to present, he processed down the aisle, and arriving before the King, he knelt down and with both hands, presented the Sword he was bearing.

“Yer Majesty, this sword symbolizes the power of a Monarch to use the might of the state against its enemies, and their duty to preserve thus right and peace.”

Once it was presented, Zanlarrr rose back to his feet, bowed to the King, and withdrew, slipping away to go and join Revan_anne and the rest of his friends.

He followed Zanlarrr and presented the King with an olive branch. He felt it was fitting on several levels. As an Admiral and military man, to bear the fruit of peace, but also between he and the King personally. The gods knew that they'd had their run-ins and even ran against one another for the throne. He had been honored to be asked to do this service, and he had gladly accepted it. He bore no ill will to the man. There was much to respect, even if they did still disagree from time to time.

Speaking clearly,
Majesty, a representation o' peace that ye may bring and hold to England, and o' the bitter food the dove preferred in the Service of Jah to the sweet foods of Man, remembering always stay on the righteous path, even when the way is bitter.

He smirked a bit at the mention of Jah, knowing the King's irreverence. He placed the branch on the altar, knowing it would be used again in the service. His duty complete, he bowed to the King and esteemed guests on the dais, backed carefully down and then went to find a seat near Ame.

The wedding had been short, but Tali hadn't been paying too much attention. He had been trying to decide if he should go inside to watch the coronation. Biting his lip, he shifted from foot to foot as he realized that the wedding was over far sooner than he'd expected it to be, and he still hadn't reached a decision. Finally, he decided to follow the crowd, grabbing Hazel's hand after making certain that she'd grabbed his harp again from the float, and standing quietly in the back, content to just be a witness to an event he doubted he'd see again. And perhaps he could tell a story of it, though it looked as if all of England was here to witness the occasion.

Sheridan_campbell
The ceremony continued and Sheridan and Aqueron watched the pageantry quietly. She was aware of a few murmurs around them and eyes that lingered upon their group. Her lips pressed more firmly together as she fought to keep her face a mask of serenity. She hated being the subject of gossip, but she was finding since being thrust into the limelight from her new position that there was no escaping people’s speculation.

It had been some time since she had last been on English soil but she assumed sentiment about the Scottish was about the same and the Scots felt about the English. Oh there would always be those who needed to try to start a fight where there was none, but Sheridan sincerely hoped this would be the beginning of closer relations between the two countries.

Just before the service began, Sheridan allowed her eyes to wander briefly and she spotted a tall man standing at attention towards the side. When their eyes met, he gave her a formal nod, which she returned with a hint of a smile on her lips before returning her eyes back to the front.

There were several small groups clustered around that spoke in hushed whispered, yet in such a place there was still a slight echo. She made a note for her own upcoming coronation that the guards should be instructed to fling old haggis at those who chose to be disruptive. Her lips quirked at the corners as she fought the urge to laugh at the image. Haggis might be a bit too much…

The ceremony continued and just after the King had knelt at the altar, someone burst forth with a fit of coughing. Sheridan could feel her eyebrows rise in surprise at the caterwauling that could come out of a person. She allowed herself a glance at Aqueron who met her gaze. They both shook their heads before returning their attention to the ceremony. After the first sword was presented and then another, Sheridan grew curious. She assumed this was an English custom, though the King only had two hands, aye? How many would there be? Still, she enjoyed the symbolism behind each. It was, after all, traditions that helped to bind a people together.

Bishop Gawain picked up the olive branch from the altar and he then dipped it into water which had been blessed. Raising it above the King's head, he spoke to the congregation:

"People of England - nobles and clergy, officials and councillors, artisans and farmers - be welcome in this holy place as we gather today. Be joyful as we celebrate the installation of England's newest monarch by the Grace of Jah, Cullan Holifard the First."

Shaking the branch slightly so some blessed water was sprinkled upon His Majesty, he began to pray.

"Jah, it is by your will that Cullan stands before us as King of this land. We ask that you give him your continued blessing, and that you allow him to serve England to the best of his abilities. Enlighten him and grant him the wisdom he needs to be the shining light of his kingdom. Let him continue to demonstrate strength, courage and determination. Fill him with the attributes lauded in the Book of Virtues and shared by the Prophets and the Saints; guide his moral path towards solar paradise. Be always with him as he performs his duties in the interests of the English people, and grant his kingdom with security and prosperity in these troubled times; by your grace, may his reign see England's glory shine around the globe. Let us remember that it is you, almighty Jah, that leads and protects all those who inhabit this mortal world; and you have chosen Cullan to be your blessed servant and representative. And so we do anoint him in your name."

He continued on to the oath.

"Cullan, the time has come for you to swear the oath. As your humble servant, and as a Bishop of the Reformed Aristotelian Church, I now ask you to reflect upon the burden of kingship and your obligations to your people."

"Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of England according to their laws and customs? Will you in your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all of your judgments? To protect the realm from all foreign enemies and to provide internal peace and security in this Kingdom? To keep sacred the religion of Aristotle in England?”

Krissy was so relieved when Cornish turned back and took hold of her hand. London always scared her when they came to visit, and this occasion made it worse, with the huge crowd and all. She held on as tight as she could and sat down in the place where he indicated.
Cornish, my love, please don't ever leave me behind like that ever again. Promise?
She leaned over to kiss his cheek. She wanted him to know she wasn't angry, but she had been really afraid of being alone in that crowd.

*I cupped my hands against her cheeks as i kissed her back*

"Forgive me, i didn't mean to let go of you.. but you are right, i promise i won't leave you behind like that again"

*I leaned forward and kissed her*

*i sat back up, smiled and looked around at the crowds.. i could see in the sitting crowd my dear cousin Irish, and my old friend Father Kiane.. unsure if they could see me i waved anyway, my tankard slightly splashing as i did so*

Drestakil
Having found a seat next to Cornish, Drestakil sat back to enjoy the ceremony. The last time he had been here was as a participant...King Darienbalintyne's coronation. Now he could sit and watch other people be uncomfortable in their unaccustomed roles.

He surreptitiously tapped Cornish's barrel, nodding his thanks. He could see none of his family here, which was just as well. His last...adventure?...had left something of a sour taste in the mouths of the rest of the family. He smiled to himself, while following the ceremony. Hopefully, they would get past it and get on with other things. Which reminded him...he would need to stop in at Hartlebury Castle and see how the renovation was coming along.

Cullan
Cullan raised his eyes to the Bishop, suddenly nervous. Was he really doing this? Was this happening? Would he be a good King? He had criticized almost every King...could he do any better?

All he could do was try. With a clear, raised voice, he spoke.

"I, Cullan Holifard, solemnly promise an' swear ta govern th' People 'a England according ta our laws an' customs. I will in my power cause Law an' Justice, in Mercy, ta be executed in all of my judgments. Ta protect th' realm from all foreign enemies an' ta provide internal peace an' security in this Kingdom. To keep sacred the religion of Aristotle, an' all others, in England. I swear this in the name of Jah and before the people of this great nation"

She smiles and nods in agrement Yes its crowded seems everyone wants to be here. Oh and look are they laying down their swords now. She stretches her neck to see a little better.

Her eyes followed Rowan as he made his way to a seat close by her. They didn't speak or give a sign to one another, but she was glad of his nearness.
Then she looked back toward the altar as the oath was administered.
"To keep sacred the religion of Aristotle, an' all others, in England."
She blinked briefly in surprise at the King's response. It was a departure from the oath, but well spoken. Perhaps, in this sense, it was good that Cullan seemed to hold to no particular religion himself. "T'was well done, and as it should be," she thought.

Nivera always loved the presentation of the symbols of office. It felt so long ago that she was arranging the swords for her brother's day, so seeing it all now made missing him more intense. He would have enjoyed this very much.

She stretched to see more of the ceremony. Everything was beautiful! She hoped this would be the beginning of a long, peaceful reign.

Hmmmm, proper ale? I do believe we have proper ale, at least in Dartmouth. Perhaps you've just not visited the right towns. Next time bring yourself farther west. Bree looked around at Tyg's next comment when Bishop Gawain started the service. She took a seat and nodded to Tyg in acknowledgement that she'd seen the Scottish contingent.

Skirts, you say? You know, some find men's kilts very becoming. There is always that puzzlement about what is worn under them... Bree got lost in thought for a moment then recollected herself. Don't be so cynical, Tyg. I believe we're here for their entertainment. She grinned at him and thought for a moment about Scottish royalty. Several Queens. Now that could make for a very interesting negotiations party, don't you think?

"Well there wasn't any last I passed through, but time changes everything" he said turning his attention to the front of the abbey where items of great significance were presented and an oath was taken by the king
"As for your infatuation with manskirts m'lady Winchendon, I shall do my utmost to pretend I did not hear of it" he said in mock seriousness without facing her, acting as if the most awfully blasphemous words had reached his ears
"Hmm, interesting is one word for it. Keeping one woman entertained for any measure of time is hard enough, several of them at once, and queens no less... I'm not sure whether I should be envious of ambassadors or pity them" he added shortly, as he realized time did not change the coronation protocol. It was every bit as boring as the first time

She heard the slightly amended oath, and nodded to herself. As she'd suggested - much better than leaving Jah out of it. Under her breath, she whispered her own amended version, though only a very good lip-reader could have made it out.
"I, Aggnes Holifard, solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of England according to our laws. I will in my power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all of my judgments and advice. To protect the realm from all enemies and to provide internal peace and security in this Kingdom. To keep sacred all religions in England. I swear this in the name of Jah." After all, as Heir and Queen, she would speak with the King's voice, and so had the same responsibilities. "In front of the people" was irrelevant, if technically true. Jah would hear her.
Later, there would be her own public oath, but that was much more limited.

Eurydice
Eurydice entered the hall in silent way, not to be noticed and not to disturb the ceremony going on.
Lots of people were around, all looked very excited and interested in the events going on in front of altar.
Eurydice took a humble seat in the corner, at the same time she could see Agness dressed in very nice way, with very nice dress, smiling and observing all people around her. Eurydice could remember the Lady who is the Queen right now, she also met with King Cullan who was giving his great visit in Holywell, staying long time in tavern to meet people. They both looked a bit worried but with happy smiles on their faces.
.
"...The new King, the New Queen and the New Life..." Lets hope they will be happy with what they have have and get lots of experiences from that. This nice couple of King and Queen is promising a lot of new changes.. Good luck to them both and long life!"
