(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Taarna
Taarna smiled at Kaz. "Pssht! Sit, on such a lovely afternoon! I've my 'sea legs' I do believe, even though I've only been on board a couple of times; and if I do get a bit of nausea, I've got my candied ginger, but I don't foresee that."

She seemed to be doing well, after all, and so she walked up to Rowan. She had to asked him a timeless quesion:

"Are we there yet?"

With the King and Queen leaving and the rest of the Abbey slowly emptying as well, he got up from his seat to make his way outside along the others. A little unsure as where to next, he was quickly 'saved' by Amethise's question. Pondering it for a second, he nodded back at her. If you don't mind, I'll gladly take you up on the offer. Now that the King is properly married ánd coronated, I'm sure he can take care of himself without his groomsmen for a short while. Chuckling a little, he continued. So please lead the way, I'll do my best to stay on your tail amongst this crowd.

Chuckling softly at Galrador's reply, Amethise nodded her acknowledgement and joined the steady flow of people moving towards the exit. Once outside the Abbey, she glanced around to get her bearings, blinking slightly at the unaccustomed brightness on emerging from a candlelit interior into daylight, and soon spotted a line of waiting carriages; indicating to her companion where they were heading, she began to thread her way through the crowd of onlookers and merrymakers who still thronged the streets. At last, they were through the crush of people and arrived at the carriage, where the coachman stood waiting, holding the door open as they approached. Raising the hem of her gown a little, so as not to trip, she ascended the steps and climbed in, breathing a small sigh of relief as she settled back against the plush upholstery of the seating (in truth, it had seen better days, being, on closer inspection, somewhat frayed at the corners: one of many refurbishment projects awaiting her return home…). The carriage rolled off, making good time through the cobbled streets, despite the crowds everywhere, and before too long brought its occupants to the Tower, where the feast and continued celebrations were to take place.

She came to attention as the Royal party passed. Then her Captain approached.

On his way to board the Royal Barge, our large neighbor chances to spot Lady Kidwelly close by, and swerves in that direction for a moment. Passing near, he tries to catch the lady's eye, and in his finest spoilt-rotten tone deliberately whines Mooommmmyyy, can we eat yeeetttt?, just for that lady's annoyance and entertainment. That done, our large friend steps to the gangplank and bellows Admiral Mann, permission tae come aboard, sair?

Suprised by the sardonic remark, Amerys eyes flickered toward the Captain, eyebrows raised, then a wry chuckle slipped from her as he passed by.
She waited until the barge was moving away on the Thames then, with a relieved sigh, turned to make her way to her apartments. She and Rowan would be going to the banquet later and she needed to get ready. "...And t' get out of these boots!" she grimaced.

Saira was happy to be sailing again; the noise of the oars splashing into the water wasn't quite as familiar to her as sail, but she had to admit it was more direct than trying to tack on a river. The rhythmic tug of the oars into the water felt odd; like regular gusts of wind into a sail. She was content to fade into the background, as the people stood on the banks of the Thames watching King and Queen go by.

Eira
Eira stood on the steps. She watched the royal party embark, but that was not all she looked for. There were so many people that she wondered if she would have any chance of finding him at all. Maybe he would find her, after all with his great height he should be able to see over most of the crowd...

His gaze continued to falter. He settled his breathing down and adjusted it. He had found multiple targets on the training course, but he couldn't find her! He cursed and began from one side of the area to the other. He pulled his line of vision back until he reached the stairway. He smiled. Found you.... He thought to himself.

She had on her headress once again, with hints of her golden hair peeking out. She wore her light blue dress with white trim. There was fantastic levels of craftsmanship put into it, from the white designs to the white lace near the bottom. She seemed sad, in a way, almost wistful. It truly didn't match her fantastic outfit. He approached and gave her a smile, hoping to raise her spirits... After all, her smile truly made her dress shine.

"Eira! There you are! I thought you might have left the coronation without me. I had faith you would not though..." He said with a soft smile. "I must say that it's hard to find anyone in this mess of people, but I am certainly glad to have found you once more. Also, I love the dress you're wearing, the color really goes with you, and you wear it so well..."

He smiled sheepishly and grinned. "I suppose we best get back to the house and prepare for the feast, huh?"

The passage underneath the London Bridge passed without event, much to his relief. Shortly after that, the barge came up along the gate of the Tower. Abel ordered the oars up and guided the barge to the wharf where the rest of the Royal Guard waited. He smiled at the oarsmen, thanking them for their service and for making the trip smooth as could be. He watched closely as the barge was tied up and the brow landed. He stood by to help the party disembark back onto dry land. The Guard would bring them in the rest of the way to the feast hall. He smiled and waited for everyone to alight before he would give Abel the orders to return the barge to its berth and dismiss the crew and disembark himself. He'd leave from there to the Admiralty and his office to change clothes and prepare for the feast celebration.

As he could see her nod to his reply, he tried his best to keep close and follow her. Something which wasn't easy in the flow of people moving out of the Abbey and into the streets. In fact, the area around the Abbey was the easy part. It was the outside part and side street that was the real problem, as it seemed much more crowded there. At pme point he thought he had lost her out of his sight when he noticed the carriage Amethise was getting into. Getting there as soon as possible, he was lucky to get in before they took off. Sitting in the carriage was much more comfertable than they used to in the Abbey and he was glad he was offered to ride along towards the Tower.

Eira
Eira turned on hearing his voice. "Alfred!" She smiled, and conscious that in this crowd none would be looking, placed her hand on his arm and drew closer to his side. Rodger better not be around, she thought wryly she was NOT prepared to have that conversation regarding chastity belts reprised.

Her smiled faltered when he mentioned going back to the house. "Oh, I cannot do that. I am afraid that I must go straight to the feast since their majesties are." She glanced at the Royal Barge getting ready to sail. "Come with me, I have a boat waiting. We can at least talk on the journey, and I can have the boatmen drop you off at London Bridge before it sets me down at The Tower."

Without waiting for an answer she started through the crowds still holding his arm. The waterside was busy and many were trying to get a boat to follow the King and Queen. Eira could see her own boatmen refusing to let others board. She was thankful she had had the foresight to arrange transport for the day. Though it was really fear that had caused her to splash out on the services of a private boat... fear of what Aggnes would have said if she had not been where she was meant to be at any given moment.

As gracefully as she could, and given the commotion on the water she had to be very careful not to loose her footing, she let the boatman hand her into the boat and sat down, smoothing her skirts around her. She looked up at Alfred, and couldn't suppress a grin as he folded his lanky legs as he sat down next to her.

"So, tell me about your day so far. How did it feel leading the parade?"

He was surprised when she grabbed his arm and got very close. With most anyone else, he would have said something, but he had zero objection to the current situation he found himself in. He was hoping to see Eira today, but this was much more than what he could have hoped for. She seemed.. Eager to be out of the area, which surprised him. Was someone after her, or was she just wanting to get out? He didn't even ask, as her hurry seemed great indeed.

She mentioned that she wasn't going home. That wasn't part of the plan at all, he mused. While he could have been dropped off, and changed into something else, was that what he wanted?

"If you're heading to the Tower, then I'll come along too. It's where I need to go too, and I can wait to change up my clothes, as they're already nice enough for another round of stories. It will be a lot easier to do that story than the other one." Alfred said, his comments drowned out by the rush of the city.

As they made their way through the crowd, he made out a boat. That's right... She had a boat prepared for the journey. She had made a mention of it sometime on the way up. For a moment, he wondered about the boat. Truth be told, he had never been on a ship before this moment. He had stuck to land and kept away from the texts that regarded the sea. Alfred felt a slight dread about the journey, but suppressed it, knowing Eira had experience with boats.

He climbed in and sat next to Eira, it was a bit cozy in the boat, but he didn't mind as he made himself comfortable. He pulled his knees a bit closer to him and put his arms on them. He heard Eira speak and smiled at her, "It was quite the experience... I have done small crowds, but never led a parade and tell a story at the same time. It was very exhausting, but I know I made a difference out there. The crowds were alive in the front... Not sure how much you got to see from your vantage point." Alfred said, his hands moving with his explanation.

"How were things with the Queen? I assume you traveled with them during the parade?" Alfred asked. With the general commotion the way it was, he pondered slipping an arm around Eira. She might be exhausted or tired... He placed a hand on her shoulder, hoping it wouldn't be seen as forward... But more a sign of someone who cares. He smiled quietly.

"So good to see you today, Eira."

Edwardus
The coronation had ended and everyone including Edwardus and Miss Whittaker had exited the abbey. They had watched what little they could see of the King and Queen supposedly embarking on a ship that was to take them to their next destination. Edwardus was told that the feast would be held in the tower.

However, Edwardus and Miss Whittaker would not go immediately to the tower but back towards their rented abode for a change of clothing. Miss Whittaker had ushered him towards the embankment to seek passage on a boat. He had heard her ask the lad about the fare.

"Six pence a ride, Ma'am. Fare to be paid in advance," the lad had answered. His eyes bulged as he heard the fare.

"Six pence? Is that not a bit too expensive, lad?" He protested in return.

"Ye could walk, Sir, if ye don't mind. Six pence not' in less," the lad said arrogantly.

Edwardus felt as if he could box the lads ears. However, considering that Miss Whittaker was beside him and there were any people around, he did not want to attract any attention to them.

"Fine!" Edwardus replied grumbling. With a heavy sigh he paid the fare and helped Miss Whittaker into the boat.

Eira tensed slightly when he moved his arm but relaxed when he refrained from pulling her into an embrace. "No, I didn't travel with the Queen to the abbey. I was not required for the wedding ceremony. I had things I needed to do, so missed the parade altogether." She blushed as she was admitting she had not seen his performance, though she knew the tale he had told, from the Winterfest.

"I am looking forward to hearing your new one at the feast." She sighed, thinking of the hours before she would be free to spend time with him and the others. Damned formalities!, "It was an honour to be part of the Coronation Ceremony... of course, but with that and the preparations before hand as well as swearing fealty. Well, it has been a long day, and it is far from over."

They were behind the Royal Barge, but even though it would dock first, Eira was sure that they would enter the Tower before the Royal Entourage, that was the way of things after all. "I am glad that you will come with me to The Tower." she smiled wistfully. "I would sit with you , Angel and Ed if I could have my choice, but... at least if we get there in good time, I will be able to see where you are and join you as soon as is seemly."

The Tower loomed ahead.

He listened to the sound of the waves as they cruised over the water. Eira spoke that about the parade, and he began to realize she didn't see the performance. He understood, however. She had been so busy lately that she hardly got the chance to speak with him. He was patient man though. Besides, he knew for a fact she would catch the next performance without a doubt.

"It most certainly has been a long day... I for once will be happy when it is over." Alfred said, hoping for a good nights rest after all this...

The Tower was in the distance. He noticed the boatsman get out of the boat and get ready to help the two of them out. Alfred motioned for him to move aside. The man did and Alfred hopped up on the deck as Eira approached. He extended his hand and gripped Eira's hand, helping her up onto the dock.

He smiled, and put his arm in hers.

"Shall we, dear lady?"

Eira godmodded with permission.

Angelrachel1119
Angel smiled warmly as she placed her hand into Edwardus outstretched one as he helped her get settled onto the boat. She could sense that he was upset over the fare so she had purposely sat down on the bench near the lad who was to row their boat. Angel gave the lad the address to where she and Edwardus needed to get to and thanked him for his services.
