(ORP) Royal Parade & Coronation of King Cullan Holifard

Raella
Raella grinned as Elsbet, Calisa, and Mysti all gathered 'round the float. Hello ladies! Ye ready to win this thing??

She helped Mysti crawl onto the Dragon's cart and settle in under its giant belly. That's the spirit, Mysti! There's sacks of those candies that Kazzia made under there. Just keep throwing 'em once this float gets moving!

Calisa, if you want, you can duck under the tarps and head on up to the mouth. Make yerself comfy and check that the lever and kegs are all positioned right.

She nodded and smiled at Els as she began prepping her baby cart in the back. And aye, Els, I've got the banner tucked away right here in the front. Once Balako gets here he can have at it.

Raella joined the ladies in the last minute preparations and checked that the plow horses were properly secured to the cart.

With a prolonged sigh of resignation, Daisy finally relented to Kazzia's persistent knocking and ruckus. There was a note in her voice that was approaching "nails on a chalk board" level that one just couldn't ignore. Daisy flung off her covers and dramatically declared, "Aye, I am awake! I suppose ye may enter and help me with my dress... Or fetch me breakfast, or what not."

She rose languidly from the comfy warmth of her bed and proceeded to slip into her under garments and dress. She needed assistance with some of the ties, but figured Kazzia was a professional at that sort of thing. Discreetly, Daisy tucked a small pouch into one of the hidden pockets of her gown. She stared expectantly at the lass, silvery-blue eyes sparkling. "Do ye like tea?"

Nivera
Niv had left her horse in the usual stables she used when in London. After several year of popping in and out of Town, she knew which had the cleanest hay, and the best stable hands. It was located next to an excellent Inn, which had big tubs for hot baths, and delicious dinners. It was as close to feeling at home as she could get.

After a long soak, to help her forget the long ride south, Niv dressed herself in her formal Naval uniform. The long, heavy skirt looked crisp, and her white shift peeked out at the throat of the brass buttoned doublet-style jacket. Tucking her hair up into a bun, she topped it off with a dark, wide brimmed hat. She hadn't worn this in awhile, so spent a few minutes adjusting the adornments and medals. Each one brought back memories. Not all were military, but not everyone knew it. They were a mixture of her army, navy, and civil service. Fingering the little diamond shaped one with a croissant on it, she smiled. It was her first, and maybe proudest, it's meaning now known only to a few.

Mary had the children in the next room. Giselle and Antony were growing so quickly, and it was nice to bring them along to London now. This would be their first parade, and she was as excited as they were. Niv leaned down to kiss Greatest as he slept. He was going to watch with the kids from the roadside when the parade passed. Hopefully she could find them in the crowd to wave.

After a few last minute instructions for Mary, she kissed her babies and headed downstairs. Cidal Khan was brushed and fed, ready to show off his golden haired beauty. They may well be the shortest members of the Coronation Parade, but he strode like a warhorse. Niv had never decided if he was happier running full speed into a fight, or prancing down the road with flowers in his mane. Either way, he was ready and so was she.

Hearing the sound of the trumpet signal, Bishop Gawain nodded to James. "Aye, that be our cue."

He bowed in return to James, then made his way out of the tent and headed to where everyone was gathering. Finding his position in the line up amongst the religious representatives, he awaited for the parade to begin.

Tali heard the call for the musicians and entertainers to be at the start of the parade, and he frowned briefly. Were they all to play something together? He hadn't heard anything about it, and it would just sound like a jumbled mess if there were too many different songs played at once. Besides, his song was suited for the day and the dragons themselves, so he would remain with the Devon float, which he hoped would be with the other dragon floats as well, and sing there.

Eying the members of the Devon Navy and Regiment that he was near, he wondered if he should instead be walking with the regiment, but decided to stick with the float. After all, there hadn't been many to work on it, and he wondered if he and Hazel would be the only ones to show up for it. At least it was lightweight. Double checking his lute, the blonde bard tested the strings, making sure it was in tune for the song he planned.

Calisa
She gives Rae a huge grin and a bit of a salute. "Yes Ma'am!" before snagging a piece of the delicious candy and climbs under the tarp and up the neck of the dragon into the mouth once more. She checks on everything, the kegs were full and attached, the lever was in working order, and everything was ready to go!

All they needed now was the parade to start. She leans down to peek down the neck and gives the thumbs up to them before hiding herself from the eyes of the crowd and yet able to see everything that was going on.

Seeing Pagan shuffle off again, he couldn't help but chuckle, before returning to the group of musicians at the head of the parade, almost instinctively, he looked around, wondering if anybody would mind him sitting atop the dragon float... but decided to stay on the ground instead

Sir Renard had worn the proud uniform of the Knights of England. His sword hung at his side as he rode through the streets of London to the parade area. He wasn't sure who would be there. Reyn stabled Rascal at the usual livery and the groomsman gave him a salute as he entered. Back agin' me Lord? Ah see the streets be filled with the Lords and Ladies all come in ta see the new King and his bride. The old man shook his head as he led Rascal to a stall and mumbled. Ah seen 'em come and go and not one is better 'an ta other. Ah seen no change and don' except to see one now, neither. Only thin's tha' changes is the folks they git around 'em. The old man turned as Reynard offered him the gold for caring for his mount. Thank ya me Lord. Ah take right good care a him for ya, per usual. Reynard tipped his cap to the man. I thank you kindly, my good man. You are a gentleman.

Reyn walked the rest of the way to the place where the parade would start.

For this coronation, Dame Sara had left the children with Julia, while she went up to London to do her duty as a Knight of England. Spotting fellow Knight Reynard, she fell into a spot next to him.

"Good day." she said.

Airya

As Fergus guided the horse t0: what seemed like the front of the crowd,
Airya called up to him, "Stop here Fergus!"
He pulled on the reins and the horse stopped.
Airya started to get out of the carriage, but Fergus quickly jumped down and assisted her.
She said, "Oh Thank you Fergus. I saw a notice posted by the Lady Lavea which, I think said,

Quote:
"
"Parade assemble at the Tower (Musicians, Representatives of the Army and Navy, Religious Heads, County Leaders, Members of the Garter, Royal Guard, County Dragons and Knightly Orders"}

"I'll wait here.. and you go see to it my musicians join me.

She didn't have to wait long for the musicians.. they joined her and started to play
a lively tune.

Jessa.jane
Jessa found a corner where things didn't seem to be as hectic as the rest of the room and quickly changed into her gown. She hadn't been sure what was fashion with head wear for such occasions. It was the first coronation she had ever attended as London seemed world away for her. However she had brought a barbette and fillet which complemented her dress just in case it might be needed. As she finished fixing each layer of the skirt and sleeves of her gown she saw the Lavea was wearing head wear so as well she put hers on pinning it carefully to keep it in place. This was not a time to worry of it slipping down or being out of place, and after a few minutes was content with it's security.

She stood back and smiled as the others prepared, more so as the assistants attending to Aggnes. She had a beauty fit for a queen, and a queen she was. Jessa also wondered how the queen could sit so still as they attended to her hair , her face , her hands and so on. Maybe it was something learned. Growing up pretty much alone, if it had been Jessa in her place by now she would have sent them all away and tended to things herself.

Even with all this around her, Aggnes still managed to keep things on track and a gift was presented to the ladies there. A fine silver goblet engraved and designed for the occasion. It was beautiful.

She walked to Aggnes trying no to get in the way of her preparation. What a perfect gift , one I will cherish always. Thank you. She found one of the many servants that were there at their beck and call and instructed her to take hers to either Edward Tudor or Lord Kelster Wallace, she knew either one would make sure to get it to her when the tie was right and probably filled. She then returned near the queen but not crowding ready to to be of assistance at any moment. It was then that she finally got a chance to say her hello's to Saira.

Saira it is so good to see you, by appearances life is doing well by you.
She smiled glad to see a happiness where once there had been little. I hear good things. A wonderful gent, a church and mayor of town, good things indeed!

Corvusnoctis
Quietly cursing the gods for allowing a local fox to the rooster that had be acting as his alarm clock, Corvusnoctis hurriedly continued on to the meeting place in London, a not so small trip from Salisbury in Devon. He finally reached the royal capital ad looked with a sense of awe. The tall walls and palaces of stone, the press of the crowd from all over the kingdom, just the whole ambiance of power that one felt here was almost too much. standing tall, he brushed of the dust from his finest cloak, one he spent all night before cleaning and brushing out and all the small silver bits he spent time polishing, all to look his very for this most special of occasions.

"So, this is London, and soon I might a glimpse of the king of all England in person..." Those thoughts just kept going in circles around his head. But, he finally realized he was late and had little time for sight seeing. So, once more he hurried his steps and after asking around found where the parade was gathering.

The sound of a lute hit his ears and he suddenly knew where the Devon float was. Sure enough he followed the sound of the solitary lute, its music soaring above all the other noises. And there stood his friend Tali standing and playing by the Devon dragon. So after another quick brush of his outfit he took a place near the side of the dragon to help move it along. "Greetings, Tali"
Hazel
Hazel looked around at all the hustle and bustle and was impressed at how many people had come out. She was glad that she'd get to be on the float with the dragon instead of among all the people on the ground- she was afraid she'd come out a bit flatter than when she'd started.

Turning to Tali, she said, "Well, I guess I'll take my place in the dragon's throat to be ready with the rose petals. Who would have thought you'd ever find me tossing rose petals during a coronation? Being your friend has led me in some strange directions Tali!"

Smiling to show him that she was enjoying herself, she climbed in and made sure the buckets of petals were easily available.

"Mr. Corvus!" Tali grinned, his fingers stilling from the tuning of his lute. "I'm glad you made it! I was worried it would just be me and Hazel!" He glanced around at where the parade was lining up to begin, bouncing on the balls of his feet in his brightly colored outfit. "Isn't it exciting? I don't think I'll ever get a chance like this again! And after the coronation, I'll get to play at the feast, where the King and Queen will be!"

Turning to Hazel, the bard giggled at her comments. "But you know you're enjoying the journey to those directions, Hazel! And thank you!" Finding the rope on the cart, Tali made sure it was secure to the front before tying it around his waist, allowing him to help pull and move the cart but still have his hands free to play his lute.

Kazzia_llewellynn
Kazzia entered the room to see Daisy standing calmly and eyebrows rose slightly as she glanced at the other woman. She kicked a silver flask and suddenly had an idea why the maid had stepped back from the door when Kazzia started knocking. Here, you'll want this. You scared the life out of that poor maid. Fetch your breakfast? It's waiting you in the other chambers you bug a bed. Kaz laughed softly, How on earth did you manage to sleep through the wake up calls? We've less than an hour to dress you, feed you, and get down there with Princess Aggnes to meet your father. She moved behind the lass and began making short work of the ties of the gown, her needle and thread ever ready in her pocket she stitched closed the ones what needed it, and simply tied off and tucked the others that were made in such a fashion. Her ears perked at the mention of tea, but Daisy's eyes gave her pause, they were the same as when one of her sisters had been near to playing a joke on her as a child. Aye, I like tea, but I've had my cuppa lass. We've a pot of tea waiting in the other room, and if we hurry you might can gargle some. She laughed. Shoes? You have shoes somewhere in here? Do they have ties? Or can you simply step into them? What of your hair? Do you have a maid to tidy it or do you want to borrow my Katiya's quick hands, she too is in the other room, I asked to assist any of the other ladies who needed. She not so subtly tried to hurry the other lady towards the room with the rest of the bridal party and all of Kazzia's supplies to work magic with dressing preparation waited.
