[ORP] The Crossroads Inn

Fyra
Fyra entered the tavern quietly holding a basket full of apples after a long morning at the orchard. She looked around and placed the basket on one of the tables before lifting her dress slightly and seating herself at the bar. A dog was wiggling his tail cheerfully close to her feet. She giggled and bent down to pet him Aww where did you come from little thing? Fyra then raised her head spotting Mal. Oh are you the new bartender? The dog ran happily behind the bar to his master as she spoke. What is on the menu today?

Mal_
Mal was sitting quietly behing the bar idly wiping the bartop with a damp rag. Seated arround the room was the usual assortment of travellers and locals including his friend Pasco. Mal looked up when he heard the door, and the low chatter in the room went quiet for a moment. A lady came in. Set down a basket of apples on one of the nearby tables then sat down at the bar. Mal recognized her as Fyra a traveller from Dartmouth.

Mal's puppy a ginger colored dog named Ginger came out from behind the bar wagging her tail. Mal watched as Fyra bent down to pet her and said.
"Aww where did you come from little thing?"

Mal said "her name is Ginger I think she likes you"

"Oh are you the new bartender?"

"Yes I just started recently."

Ginger ran back around the bar as Fyra said.

What is on the menu today

Mal replyed "fresh bread or meat stew."

Then he bent down for a moment and gave Ginger some attention.
John.howard
Sir John having just come from the office at the Town Hall walked into the Tavern

Hearing the Mayors request Mal Poured a pint of the finest the tavern had in stock and handed it to his good friend John.

"I'm doing very well today. I enjoy the chance to meet new people, and help the town that bartending gives me. How goes the mayoring today?"
John.howard
Sir John smiled happily receiving his ale taking a swig he replied.

I am really happy you are enjoying serving the town.
Well today has been okay, the town does well and people are not at the doors of the town hall banging with rage.
All the time it stays that way it is good.
He chuckled.

How's you wide doing, well I hope?

Mal_
"My wife Lali is keeping herself very busy and doing well."
John.howard
Sir John finished his ale and smiled.

Great to hear indeed.
Stick another in there for me please.

He said as he passed his mug forwards and fished out some coin.

Spying the dog he asked.

Mal_
When John said "Your dog?" Mal took a moment looking around and saw that his puppy had gone around the side of the bar to check out the mayor. "Yes her name is Ginger." By this time Mal's larger dark gray wolfish looking dog Shadow had come around the bar also. Mal motioned to indicate the large dog. "The big one is mine also his name is Shadow."
Pascoe
Pascoe had spent much of the last day in a mood, his mind preoccupied with matters he had no control over. He walked into the Crossroads, waving to Mal and settling in at his usual table in the corner. It seemed that there was a decent crowd today and he smiled gratefully as the serving girl brought him an ale. He spent a while being quiet, listening to the buzz of conversation going on around him, but got up and limped over to the bar, sitting down next to Jirasyn. Along with Mal, the three of them spent several hours in conversation, the drinks flowing freely, with the Mayor and new Mentor stopping in briefly as well for a spell.

It quieted down later, and he returned to his table, the pleasant warmth of a few too many drinks running through him. His mind returned to dwelling on the problems he'd brought with him and the quieter tavern allowed regrets from his past to pull up a chair at the table as well. He sighed heavily and signaled the serving girl for more ale.

Mal_
A few days later Mal was once again tending the bar as usual. Pouring drinks and serving food to a few visitors and several of the regulars stopping in. Some for a quick drink, some for a few hours of drinking and conversation.

A local musician was sitting on one side of the room playing for money. Mal had noticed she seemed to be getting plenty of attention and tips from a few of the single men.
Pascoe
Fresh off his election, Pascoe had stopped in for a brief spell to update the notice board in The Crossroads. He'd brought his deputy Mayor with him to have some dinner, for his cooking skills left something to be desired. Hearing the sound of a minstrel, he smiled, settling Lillian at one of the tables while he posted the updated notice. He saw that the minstrel was attracting attention for more than just her music, nodding to Mal to let him know he was watching the situation as well, before ordering food for himself and Lillian.

Mal_
Mal returned Pascoe's nod and and was please to see Sally the shapely barmaid hussel over to take the mayors order. As he worked mal listened to the tune the very talented musician was playing, it was one of his favorites.

The music abruptly stopped. Mal looked up in time to see and hear Sally slap a grabby drunken young man across the face. She said very loudly "NO."
--Crossroads_barmaid
A slap on the face and saying no was usually enough to stop most of the grabby drunk patrons, but not this time. The drunk man grabbed her arm and his face took on an angry look.

That did it. As Sally jerked back her arm a small dagger she kept hidden in the folds of her skirt appeared in her other Hand.

And she shouted. "Get your hands off and get out of here or yer gonna lose something."
Mal_
When Sally shouted Mal was around the side of the bar and headed towards the drunken man with his club at the ready in seconds. AS he moved he said loudly.

"You heard the lady. You had best leave now!"
Pascoe
Pascoe looked over at Lillian, who was looking at everything with an open mouth. Revan is going to kill me when she hears about this he thought to himself before leaning over to her daughter "Lillian," he turned her to look at him with his hand "stay in this chair until I tell you its ok. Do you understand?" When she nodded, he grabbed his walking stick from where it was leaning against the wall and stood up, grunting slightly, and moved over behind Sally, his voice calm but resolute "I suggest that you leave, sir," his voice dripping with sarcasm "before a series of unfortunate events befall you. The door is behind you." He looked briefly behind him to check that Lillian was there, flashing her a quick grin, before turning his head back to regard the drunkard coldly as he waited to see what the man would do.
