The Colony of Bath

-fromENSparhawk21
::I was happy I didn't hear anyone calling my name asking me if I was ok. They probably wouldn't be able to see me anyways since I'm hidden behind this darn forsaken tree. I got up and went back to playing my guitar and smoking. Then a thought came to me. I set my guitar down and stood up quickly.:: Gosh darnit I forgot all about the party! ::I ran inide and grabbed the flyers I made for my inn. First I went to Greg's house to tell him not to worry about it knowing he had other plans.:: Hello Greg, hey don't worry about they Soldier's party tonight enjoy your time with whom ever you are seeing. ok? good. ::I ran to every house laying one of the flyers on their front door, knocking, and then running away. When I got done I went to my house to clean up, eat, and get dressed in my finest military uniform.:: Ok time for some FUN. ::I laugh and quickly walked to my tavern to open it. I waited behind my bar for the guest.::

Strolls up to his pigpen tossing an Orange from hand to hand

Well me piggies how are we today.

There is still no sign of Lady Abrianna. I must write to her soon, to make sure she is well. I fear for here when she travels so much, the roads are not always safe.

Sir bfp has done another fly by. He was in town for a short time and is out again patrolling. He invited me to join him. I would have gone but I had already enrolled in the militia for the day. Appearantly if your in the militia and you leave town it's considered desertion! Needless to say, I stayed and did my duty.

Lady Sierrajane had me over to her house for diner the other night. A finer meal I've never had. It was a most enjoyable evening.

Well one more day in the Militia, I keep enrolling and soon I'll be Captain of the guard!

Eat my friends, grow my pets, make me proud.
Rosalynn
Rosalynn paces restlessly after seeing Sajan off on yet another patrol. She hates for him to be away but is glad for the reprieve at the moment as in several weeks he plans to remain with her until the babes are born before traveling again. Much is on her mind to the point her thoughts are racing. She forgot to tell him about Spot's brood but he had other things on his mind so she will just include that in her next letter to him. Gathering up her things once more from the house, she takes a quick look around to see if she has missed anything, then leaves and heads back to Rhi's to stay while Sajan is away again.

Waddling down the lane, she sees several people out either tending their animals or fields and smiles, thinking everyone here works as one, a team and family unlike no other anywhere. She's hated to have to make some of the price changes she's had to recently to balance the Town Hall budget but it just goes to show how well Bath is prosperity-wise and regarding the citizens flexibility in adapting quickly to change.

Rosalynn had heard news that Rhi's husband, Sevare, has been reelected as mayor or Arundel and is sad for her as it means even longer before he will be able to join her and their children here in Bath. Amy seems too quiet to Rosalynn, like the calm before the storm and it worries her. Bottling up grief is more harmful than anything Rosalynn can think of but she is perplexed as to what to do about it. She, herself, has been sewing constantly, baby clothes for her expected duo and for tiny Abigail while she is at it. It helps to have a real live baby to fit clothes on to be sure they are the right size.

Upon reaching Rhi's home, Rosalynn lets herself in and takes her extra clothing and other items into the room she is using and unpacks them, stowing everything away carefully and neatly. As she reaches the bottom of the satchel, she draws out her journal, quill pen and bottle of ink and sets them on the desk nearby, planning to make an entry before bed this night. Leaving the room she heads for the kitchen for tea and a slice or two of bread to ease the hunger pangs. One of the babes seems to be doing a tapdance on her bladder so she stops off first to use one of the chamberpots in her room before going on to the kitchen. Rosalynn rubs her hands over her protruding tummy wishing that the children were already born for her to fuss and fawn over.

After washing up the dishes she used, Rosalynn moves to the nearest window to look out. It's started getting a bit chillier during the day so autumn has arrived. Looking out at the color-changing foliage, she daydreams of the time when Sajan will be home more often than not. Of when the babies become little persons in their own right and start making mischief. Trying to supress the intense loneliness threatening to engulf her, Rosalynn grabs a shawl and decides to go for a walk into town and maybe to the tavern. She isn't able to drink but she can still enjoy the company of the the other citizens to help ease the loneliness somewhat and for a short time.

The sunlight filled Sierra's bedchamber and roused her from her slumber. She laid in bed stretching and recalling the events of the previous night. She had invited Sir Gregarious over for supper and everything went very well. It was the first time she had a formal guest over for a meal and she had been a bit nervous. He seemed to enjoy the meal. And afterwards they laughed and talked until late evening. His company made her feel very happy and uneasy at the same time. Her heart began to beat faster just thinking of him....

There were many dishes to take care of today as well as other chores. She could hear the pile of laundry calling her name. Luke suddenly jumped on the bed and rubbed his face against her cheek. She began scratching his back and smiled.

"And what do you think of Sir Gregarious?" Luke responded by flopping on the bed and purring.

"I couldn't agree more. Now what would you say to a bit of breakfast?"

Sierra climbed out of bed with Luke close on her heels. She had bought some fresh fruit at the market yesterday and was anxious to have a piece. This orange looked delightful--so juicey and sweet. That and a slice of bread would be very nice. Luke on the other hand enjoyed a small bowl of milk. After breakfast, Sierra began preparing a tub of water to wash the dishes. As she glanced up from her work she saw Sparkhawk pass by. She remembered the extra fruit pie and called out to him.

Sparhawk walked back slowly.

"Did you call, M'lady?"

"Yes, Sir. I made an extra pie last night and I wondered if you might like it?"

"That's very generous of you, Lady Sierra. I will accept it thankfully. May I ask, why me?"

"Just trying to be a good neighbor." Sierra smiled up at him.

"Well, my many thanks to you. I apologize that I cannot speak longer. I have a few errands to run this morning. If I see Greg this morning, I'll be sure to tell him you said hello!"

There was a smirk on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Sierra blushed at the comment, but bade him to please do so. Why did she feel reduced to being a silly school girl?

Basking in the warmth of the Morning Sun as she headed into Town for provisions Ells Stretched in the saddle and seeing the smoke of the bakery chimmney painting a silver swath against the pale blue of the sky she dug her heels in and bade Thunder to hurry his journey beneath her.

The Wind began to toss and tousel her mop of chestnut curls as Thunder increased his pace and They trampled the wooded path through the forest....the morning reverie broken by the sound of hoofbeats and the tinkle of Ells laughter as she and her beloved companion made haste to town.

Reigning Thunder in as they pull up to the edge of town, she slows to a trot and heads for the Market....there being very little in the cupboards at home since her return last eve from her journey and having taken her evening repast in the Tavern there was no need to shop last eve.

Ahhh the lovely colors of the fruits and vegetable vendors catch her eye and she moves to them....her fingers deftly pinching and squeezing the ripe flesh and her nose being tantalized with the spicey scents.....she questions the conspiciuous lack of Oranges in the bin this morning and then a grin teases her lips into a smile as she recalls The Bartender's tales in the Tavern last eve and thinks the Goodwomen of Bath must all be enjoying Freshly squeezed orange juice this morning....

Tossing her curls with a chuckle to herself she chooses a basket of mixed fruits and fresh veggies and fishes her purse from her skirts and pays the vendor with a smile.....

Ells remembers to take the largest apple over to where she has tied Thunder and scratches his muzzle as she offers the treat before turning back up the street toward the bakery.....wishing a good Morning to the townsfolk as she passes......

When I got the pie from SierraJane I had the biggest smile on my face. I couldn't have been happier. I went directly to my house after getting the pie before I had gone to my tavern for the party to make sure no one else had some. After great turn out at the tavern I was going home and I noticed Rosalynn going out of her house with bags in her hands. She was heading over to Rhi's house. Saj must be gone again. I felt bad for her since she did have a pair of kids coming. I thought to myself of surprising her with some food. I ran home gathering some meat, fresh cooked bread, and picked some veggies out of my garden. I left my pipe at home and put the food into a straw basket. I also grabbed my guitar just in case she would like to hear some music. As I was walking out I noticed the pie and put that in the basket too. Walking down the road I noticed Greg was home and knocked on Greg's door. He answered the door with a smile.
Hey Greg I just wanted to tell you Sierra said hello. I winked at him as I said it. I'll talk to you later at the bar. I left before he could give a answer just to leave his face in my memory the picture of his face. I headed over to Rhi's house where Rosalynn was staying. When I got there I knocked and waited outside for the door to be answered.
Rosalynn
Having been lost in her daydreams, Rosalynn jumps as someone knocks on the door. Smoothing her hair down distractedly, she crosses the room from the window and opens the door. A smile lights up her face reaching the light blue of her eyes as she sees Sparhawk at the door, straw basket in hand. She looks curiously at it wondering what's inside then curbs her curiosity and greets him, "Hello Spar, how are you and what brings you this way?" Rosalynn laughs in embarassment as tantalizing aromas waft up from the covered basket and set her tummy to rumbling loudly. "Oh my, do excuse me as it seems the babes are demanding to be fed yet again. I'll be as big as the broad-side of a barn if this keeps up."

Suspecting something was amiss when Amy did not return from the bathroom, ArcaneJill went looking for her. Amy was slumped against the wall. She moaned when ArcaneJill shook her but did not wake up. Having been witness to how much Amy drank, she searched her own pockets... Damn! Not there. She never expected to need her herbs at the tavern tonight. Knowing she would need to return to her house as quickly as possible, she called for the bartender, Gregarious, to help her get Amy out of the bathroom. Instructing him to keep her on her side in case she vomited while still unconscious, she hurriedly left the tavern and started running for home.

On the way, she quickly stopped at Rhiannon's, hoping Rosalynn or Rhiannon would be home. No one answered the door! Quickly scribbling a note and tacking it to the door, ArcaneJill continued on toward the edge of town and her house.
Gregarious
I'm here Amy.

Are you back as well? Are you where you want to be now? Is there anything I can get for you?
Arcanejill
Breathless, ArcaneJill bursts through her door. Luckily her house is fairly well organized. Collecting some powder of algaroth (an emetic) and some stimulants, she takes a few breaths and starts out the door for the tavern again.
Arcanejill
ArcaneJill makes it back to the tavern to find Amy awake and talking to Greg. Relieved, she sits back and watches for a while just in case anything should happen, until Amy is steady enough to make it home.

Sickened to the point of feeling her face drain of blood, Rhiannon listened as Arcanejill relayed the tales of the evening.

Right then, Rhiannon started planning. Immediately following Edward's funeral, she would have Amy speak to Emunah.

Rhiannon sat in the tavern, staring off into space, planning. She was only disturbed by a rustling of petticoats behind her. Twisting around, she noticed Elvira heading towards the privy, looking a little green.

'Twas the time for colds and such to start- she hoped no one would be very ill.

At home, Rhiannon checked in on Amy- still out. She bit her lip but kept watching. Good, Amy's chest was still moving, and strongly as well. She had hoped the herbs and booze that Amy had were minimal- it would be beyond horrible if her cousin had succeeded in poisoning herself.

Knocking lightly on Rosalynn's door, she was rewarded by a soft "come in" from the other side. Rhiannon had started making a point to check on her, now more often because of the high risk normally associated with birthing multiples.

Rosa sat on her bed, her idle hands holding the tiny shirt she was creating for her babies. A sniffle and puffy face alerted Rhiannon of the fact that her cousin had been crying. She quickly crossed the room to sit on the bed and hug Rosa. Rhiannon knew exactly why Rosalynn was crying- and so, she joined her. It only made sense that two wives who missed their husbands weep together.
